Touching Your Heart

Touching Your Heart
Authoritarian Men

“Good.” Kayden nodded, then stood flexing his body lazily making Gwen's gaze directed at the muscles twitching along Kayden's rigid abdominal wall. The woman's mouth suddenly dried up and she quickly looked away, suddenly her fingers stiff as if her muscles had suddenly spasm.

By the time Kayden moved away, Gwen was finally able to exhale the breath she had unconsciously held. Then, the next few seconds he frowned because he did not like the suspicion that he was increasingly aware of the existence of Kayden who had become a friend for life. Will the man try to build love in his household to stay harmonious? For a moment, he blinked at the thought until he sighed softly.

However, Gwen immediately remembers when one of her friends said that love does not create marriage. A conscious and planned marriage will create love. The same thing happens in all relationships. The thing to note here is, marriage is once in a lifetime. The partner you choose is your partner to death. Wrong or right, that's your partner. That's what his friend thinks.

The woman finally came to her senses and had to face the fact that it was Kayden who would continue to stand beside her in joy or sorrow, in accordance with the sacred promise of marriage that they pledged in the eyes of God. Will he make peace with his past? I don't know, Gwen still doubts that.

“Gwen,” calls in a heavy voice belonging to Kayden disperse his reverie.

“Ya.”

“Light on my laptop.” When Kayden took a sip of his cappuccino, Gwen followed his orders without any objections or refutations as usual. “You can use this to simplify your tasks I gave you earlier,” he added.

Gwen did not reply, but she nodded in response. Without waiting for long, he immediately opened a new file and typed in tasks that were partially unresolved. While Kayden himself immersed himself in a stack of documents that so tired him.

They work in silence. Kayden seemed to be flipping through the paper, picking up a ballpoint pen to mark reports he thought were untrue. Sometimes he just sat lazily in his chair to read the report carefully. What a very strange situation, Gwen thought as she paused to take a sip of her cappuccino.

Here they are, in an office building in the City of London—, two people who are married and newly married. Shouldn't the newlyweds be going on their honeymoon? The answer is of course yes if the marriage is based on love first and the honeymoon plan is mature.

Unknowingly Gwen smiled wryly as she cursed her fate, that Kayden instead told her to work. The authoritarian man did not seem to give Gwen a chance to just lay her body down or laze in the upscale hotel room they occupied.

“What makes you smile?” Suddenly Kayden's heavy voice sounded like interrogating, interrupting Gwen's wandering thoughts.

“Did the man miss something?” Gwen asked grimly inwardly as she looked up and found that instead of concentrating on her own work. As he thought, Kayden was leaning against the chair staring at Gwen as she frowned.

“I want to know what your employees think about you making me work like this,” said Gwen honestly.

“I'd rather know what you think of me,” Kayden replied gently.

Gwen lowered her head, her cheeks instantly blushing like tomatoes. “In my opinion, you are too coercive,” he said, deciding to put Kayden's statement full of meaning.

“Because I care so much about you,” Kayden asserted. “And my duty as your husband is to divert your bitter daydreams of the past, then replace them with sweet daydreams of the future.”

Gwen's lips clenched tightly, not knowing what else to say. Again and again, the handsome husband was always able to penetrate what was in the head of his wife. Ridiculously, his cheeks remained red for so long after that. And every time Gwen looked up, she found Kayden sitting watching her.

“Gosh .. really annoying. He really troubled me,” grumbled Gwen in his heart. “Yes god .. I so long for a soft mattress and its set, its inner” with despair.

Perfect—bos who is handsome and well-established, cold but can be romantic to his wife, smart in thinking and smart in forming the perfect muscles for women. Such was one of the small talk in a soft voice from the employee Kayden, but unfortunately the man could still hear it.

Kayden did not get angry or reprimand them. He let her, pretending not to listen, even returned their greetings with a faint smile. Unlike Gwen who seemed to smile awkwardly when dozens of pairs of eyeballs noticed her.

“Ka-kay,” call Gwen nervously when they're out of the office building.

While continuing to walk with Kayden's hand still holding Gwen's hand, he only answered briefly, “Ya.”

“Can you let go of your hand?” pinta Gwen is desperate. “I can walk alone behind you without having my hand held.”

“Don't expect me to let you go!” Kayden answered the terms meaningfully.

“Tapi—“

“We are now in another Country, Gwen.” Kayden reminded. “And I know, you've only been here for the first time. So shut up, look around you and enjoy every trip we have in London. One more, Gwen. You are now my wife, and indeed you should have walked beside me not behind me.”

Gwen did not answer, but she pursed her lips. Kayden always had his own reasons for every action. The woman was still speechless and continued to walk beside Kayden by letting the man clasp his hand. She was tired and had no energy to argue with her husband.

“Now where are we going?” Gwen asked to shift the subject. However, he hopes Kayden will drive back to the hotel to rest.

But unfortunately, Kayden instead said lightly, “Shop your clothes.”

“Gosh .. Kayden!” erang Gwen's. “Please, no need!” He was so tired that he almost fainted on the London side of the road. “You just bought me a lot of clothes without me knowing. And now I don't want any more!”

“There is a shopping mall across the street, Gwen,” Kayden said flatly. “You can buy branded goods there. Ranging from bags, shoes, famous designer clothes to underwear.”

Gwen frowned so deeply that her eyebrows almost seemed connected. The woman was frustrated by Kayden's always coercive attitude and her own will.

“Stop, Kay!” gwen shouted as she jerked Kayden's hand and stopped her steps.

Kayden who was flinched by Gwen's treatment, he immediately stopped his steps as well, took a deep breath, then turned his body towards Gwen and asked with a look of his cold eyes, “What do you want, Gwen?”

“Oh .. For God's sake, Kayden. I've been waiting for that question since!” gwen replied no less fiercely. “I want you to take me back to the hotel because I'm tired. And I want to sleep without the slightest disturbance, including the disturbance of your imposing attitude. I'm sick of your ever-authoritarian attitude towards me, Kayden Kim! We're not in the office. So stop all your self-absorbed attitude towards me.”

Kayden did not answer, but in his eyes was a flash of anger that was not conveyed. He could have debunked Gwen's statement by giving her a logical reason why she was being coercive towards the woman. However, Kayden did not do it because he saw Gwen was expressing the emotions she had been holding back since.

Gwen did not know, behind the forced attitude of her husband, actually Kayden just wanted to devote his attention to his wife by giving luxury items such as the goods that the man had. Kayden wanted Gwen to enjoy her life when she married him, and to make sure only happiness was around his wife.
