There was a smile of happiness in Egbert's eyes when he heard that. He bowed his head and kissed Annette's old forehead.

"The front will be tough days. Being the wife of a ruler like me, would definitely cost you a lot. I will be busy struggling in many ways and will often share the burden with you.
