The next day was exactly as Egbert had promised, a driver was already waiting for him outside the castle. Annette finished a slice of bread sandwich and a glass of milk as breakfast, then walked out.
"Mistress" The middle-aged man's chivalrous greeting Annette. He was wearing black as his work uniform.
"Morning sir" Annette smiled widely in return. Slowly he got used to the 'mistress' call addressed to him.
"Include me Gordon who will be your personal driver as Lord Egbert instructed" Gordon introduced himself to Annette. He would not have expected the mistress he would serve was so young.
"Em" Annette smiled in response.
Afterward Gordon went to open the door of the white sedan which was quite classy, let Annette in.
"Thank you" Annette said as she got into the luxury car. All his life, he never imagined he would get a service like this.
Gordon nodded with a smile and continued to close the door. He went up and sat on the steering wheel. Putting on her seatbelt, she glanced at Annette through the front rearview mirror, "Where are we going madam?"
"To my house" Tukas Annette, "There are things I have to take before I go to college"
"Good mistress"
Annette also told him the address of the residence and the white sedan continued to rush away from the castle residence which not only has a large building, but also a spacious courtyard.
It took them about thirty minutes until they reached the residence of his rooftop house. Annette rushed down from the car and ran up the stairs to her empty residence these few days.
Opening the door, Annette could feel the place somewhat dusty and silent. The dish that had not been washed seemed to have been moldy and a pair of shoulders bowed listlessly to find a pile of dirty cloth in the basket.
"Ah, there's a lot I have to do. But now I have to go to college first" he said as he rushed to pick up a bag and put in some necessary books.
He has been out for almost a week without any information. Annette could not imagine how much material and tasks she had missed.
Afterwards Annette went back inside the white sedan and said, "Now we go to college sir"
"Good mistress"
......................
Once on campus, Annette quickly approached her class. That morning he had class at nine in the morning, still ten minutes before class.
"Annette" exclaimed one of the short-haired girls with her distinctive round glasses, "Where have you been? Almost a week or so I haven't seen you"
That's none other than Lucy, Annette's only close friend on campus. Annette is not a closed person, but her busyness in dividing time for work and study, making her not free enough to socialize more widely
Annette went to sit next to her and sighed heavily, "Come on, I don't know where I am either"
The answer left Lucy frowning confused, "How can you not know?"
Annette could read Lucy's confused expression, "Well, I don't know where I'm going. All I know is that I'm in a big castle a little bit near the woods"
Lucy's temple looks deep, "Castles? Near the woods?" Lucy blinked her eyes, "You're on vacation or something?"
Annette pouted her lower lip smiling slightly, "You can take it that way" After all it would be too difficult to explain.
"It's not usually you waste your money on something like that. Are you not taking any time off at all" Tukas Lucy sounded unconvinced, "And again, why are your clothes a little different than usual? Is this new?" Lucy looked further at the clothes Annette was wearing and her pair of eyes were wide open.
"Woah, is this a branded item? The price is around eight hundreds of thousands, I see it on online shopping sites. How can you spend this much money on clothes" Lucy has known Annette as an efficient and frugal type of student.
This time Annette sighed heavily. He was really confused what to say. Should he tell Lucy the true chronology? But she wasn't sure Lucy would believe it.
"Someone gave it to me"
"Huh?"
"A generous donor bought me some clothes"
"Well, the donor at the orphanage you used to live in?"
"Well, he's generous. It would be great if all the rich had such personalities" Lucy said, believing what Annette said.
"Eum" Annette nodded and smiled slightly in response.
"Then your vacation"
"He also financed it"
"Ohh" Lucy nodded. This time he did not ask again. Because they saw the lecturer had stepped into the room, they immediately improved their sitting position and focused their eyes forward.
"Good morning everyone" Sapa Sean, slightly published a smile on the corner of her lips.
"For Mister" said the students in the room. Sean could see the average young girl sitting there smilingly contemplating her handsome face.
Let's just keep acting like Sean doesn't know.
"Well we're going to start our learning today" Just as he said that, Sean saw the whereabouts of Annette sitting on the front row bench. He was no longer surprised by it since Egbert had already told him this morning.
"So, from now on you don't just come to teach. But also as an informant about my wife's activities on campus"
Sean still vividly remembered Egbert's message which instantly ruined his breakfast taste.
'Haah, who really told me to be his informant?'
'Did he think I was free enough to do that?'
Sean subconsciously stared long at Annette. It was complicated and stored as a line of dislike that he covered with his calm.
"Sir Sean"
"Sir Sean"
"Sir Sean" Call one of the students a third time until Sean wakes up.
"Ah, sorry!" Sean smiled awkwardly.
'Basic Egbert!'
'Because of giving me that immoral assignment, I had to lose my focus on teaching this morning'
"Then we begin our discussion today which is related..."
While looking at the board, Lucy nudged Annette's arm, "I think Mr. Sean was looking at you"
Annette tapped the tip of the pen to the table, her gaze straight ahead but her mind was not focused on listening to Sean's explanation, "You think it's so hum?"
"Eum" Nod Lucy, "I think the other kids think so too" Whisper her later in Annette's ear.
It made Annette turn to the left-right and her retina clearly caught some of the plotting to a cynical glance full of dislike from other children who seemed to be fans of Sean's lecturer.
Annette just let out a long sigh, "I also think so. Mr. Sean was clearly staring at me earlier. But why should they stare at me so infuriatingly like that" Annette complained, whispering to Lucy's ear.
"Looks like they're jealous of you" Lucy replied, just as Annette looked straight at the blackboard.
Envied?
What should they be envious of, right?
Annette believes the lecturer looked at her for so long, no other because she had been absent from her class several times.
'Good, Sean didn't ask me anything about it'
Or else he would have a hard time answering.
