Sean's taken Annette to the castle. There Annette gets a checkup from Robbin. Sean and Egbert were standing outside the waiting room.
"How did he pass out?" Ask Sean Egbert.
"Eitherway. First he excuses him to go to the toilet and when he comes back, he doesn't know he passed out just after opening the door" Sean explained. At first glance it still remembered in her mind how pale Annette's lips were and how light the girl's body was when she carried her.
"Didn't you feed him?" Sean asked Egbert to give his stolen gaze, "His body was as light as cotton when I lifted it up, have you been bullying your own wife all this time?"
Egbert only let out a light sigh at the question Sean asked. It was more like the man's wild imagination that made Egbert too lazy to serve him.
Looking at the silent Egbert, Sean rounded his eyes in disbelief, "Seriously? You did?"
"..."
"Woah, didn't you know the girl was pregnant? You should have paid more attention instead of—" Sean's next words came to a halt as the door opened and Robbin walked out.
Egbert did not look anxious or worried about Annette. The only thing on his mind was how to keep the girl afloat to contain her seeds.
"Is the condition of the birth safe?" That was the question Egbert asked, instead of asking about his wife.
Robbin felt sorry for Annette. This cold man did not even like her at all, but the young girl had to struggle hard to contain her seeds, "So far it is safe. But not with the condition of his mother" said Robbin who clearly looks worried look on his face.
"It hasn't been up to a week but it has proven my speculation is correct. Your wife has anemia and her stomach is now growing from last night. This clearly proves that the baby it contains consumes blood in an unpredictable amount. If this continues to happen, it is not impossible that your wife will die from blood loss"
Egbert paused his lips tightly, silent and thinking. If Annette dies early, it does not rule out the possibility that his son will also die with the girl. He was already very desperate with the discourse of having offspring and this should not be damaged just like trivial things such as the death of the human girl who almost in a few stages will soon give birth to her child.
"Is there a way to overcome this?" Ask later.
"In the human world there are special blood-boosting drugs. Maybe we can try it with that"
Egbert nodded with great relief hearing that, "Then for the food how? He still continued to spit out what he had eaten"
"I don't think it's possible to get the human girl to consume the blood of an animal like us. Because it would mean nothing to his human body. So after I think about it, what if we use intravenous fluids in the next few days?" Robbin's been thinking that way all night. Looks like that's the only way it can be done.
"Then I will tell Mary to prepare everything. Blood enhancer drugs and intravenous fluids"
Annette momentarily blinked and her eyelids slowly lifted. A bunch of sunlight that pierced through the window, it fell down just as it opened its eyes. Made Annette raise her hand, banishing the beam from glare.
"Why can I lie here?" Annette remembers the last time she was in Sean's lecturer class. Excuse me to the toilet because the vomit came back and then...
After that Annette didn't remember anything else. Frowning, Annette thought hard, 'Did I faint?'
"You're all human"
Annette turned to the origin of the voice. Looking at Egbert who was walking past the bed and went to sit right beside him lying down.
"Did I faint?"
"Eum"
"How long?"
"Light, not a day yet"
That answer made Annette smile. It was rare to see Egbert coming up with a little joke even though it sounded quite stiff.
That small attention made Annette's heart tremble sweetly, even though Egbert's face looked so flat expressionless when doing so.
"My stomach—" Annette suddenly gasped in shock at the rapidly growing belly from last night that was only a small pot. He felt a little heavy when he lifted his hips.
"He's growing faster because he's consumed so much of your blood" Egbert landed his hand on Annette's stomach, stroking it gently.
Annette instantly failed to control her heartbeat, "Then, it didn't take me long to conceive this child?"
"Eum" Nodded Egbert, staring straight at the flat but deep Annette, "So you'll have to hold on until then"
Egbert no longer stroked Annette's large belly, now his hand landed on Annette's thin cleavage and stroked it gently with the back of his finger.
"You can't die. You must live and be born this child.."
Annette's black eyes flashed to see Egbert's fingers now dancing small on the surface of her face.
"So hold on!"
Hold on until the child is born and after...
It's up to you to die or something,
I wouldn't care!
The words were certainly not Egbert revealed but only stuck in the throat and then ended in his heart only.
Annette grabbed Egbert's hand that touched her face and made the cold palm smudge across her cheek, "I'll definitely hold on" she said, "So you don't have to worry"
Worrying?
Egbert almost laughed at the ridiculous word. True what Sean said, they human girls are very vulnerable and fragile. Though little attention he gave, but the girl was already floating high into the clouds.
"Good be it" Egbert's lips formed a wide forced smile. He thought there was no need to clear up this misunderstanding. As long as the girl thinks positively about staying, the glass will be sure to stay...
Safe.
Mary had just returned and brought all of Egbert's orders. A box of blood-boosting drugs and some stock of intravenous fluids. He went to Annette's room and saw the couple seem to be mixing love in silence.
He could see the smile at the bottom of Annette's eyes that looked so obvious and Egbert's indifferent gaze with a faint smile on the surface of her lips.
"Master"
The call jolted the two men from sight-seeing action. Annette immediately acted awkwardly, patting Egbert's hand off her face and then she went to scratch her non-itchy nape.
Egbert remained calm and seemed undisturbed by this. He got up from his seat and walked over to Mary, "You've bought everything I've asked for"
"It's sir"
"Then get Dr. Robbin here to get him ready"
"Good sir"
