Annette's eyelids slowly lifted and her retina caught the foreign white ceiling. The faint scent of medicine penetrated his nose. After looking around and getting the infusion pole and where her body is lying now, Annette realized where she is now.
"Who brought me here?" Thinking of the question, the incident on the hospital rooftop continued to cross his brain, instantly he was aghast from his lying position.
"My stomach.." Annette immediately felt her stomach which was now flat as before. Thin and not squinting at all with a pile of meat. A moment Annette felt alien and a loss that was ready to make her eyes glaze over.
"You're all human?"
The baritone voice of a man, made Annette turn to the body figure that had just stepped into her treatment room, "You were the doctor yesterday?" Annette.
Parker reviews the small smile and nods, "Eum" Putting his hands in his snail pocket he said kindly, "There's no need to be so formal with me. Just call me Parker"
Annette thought for a moment. Looking at the man's face, he estimated his age to be in his thirties. It would be impolite if he directly mentioned his name without a prefix...
"Then I'll call you brother Parker" Annette carved a faint smile on her lips, "What brother brought me here?" Ask later.
"Eum" Nod Parker.
"Thank you, sister, it seems I've been a big trouble for you" Seeing the warm smile on Parker's face, it felt like Annette was calm and safe.
"Aren't you curious about your baby?"
The question jolted Annette.
"W-was he born safe?"
"He's still in the incubator. He was very weak" Parker said, "Yes, your son was born safe"
'P-my son?' Instantly Annette glazed over and her entire body was shaken by it. Never thought that at her age of just twenty, she had already given birth to a son.
"I want to see him. Can I see it now?" Ask Annette. His eyes seemed to be glazed over and it was clearly an indescribable sense of haru.
"Eum" Parker takes Annette's intravenous fluids and accompanies the girl to the spot where her tiny baby is. Once there, Annette and Parker stand in front of a large glass. Watching her baby from the outside.
"Ah, is that my baby?" Saying that, Annette felt the surface of her stomach that was now empty. Now the creature he contained was born and was right in front of his eyes.
"Yes, it's your baby" Parker replied. He stood right beside the girl while holding her infusion liquid.
A few minutes passed in silence, Annette was still in place with her eyes not turned away from the tiny baby in the tube. Until he heard the baby's crying, his body stiffened.
"D-he's crying.." Annette looked at Parker.
"I'll call the nurse" Parker said. Incidentally there was a nurse passing by, Parker kept waving at the woman, "Suster"
"Well, can I help you?"
"The baby in the incubator was crying. Can his mother take it?" Parker asked the nurse.
"In a moment, I'll go check on her" The nurse did not directly check on her herself. He called the doctor together and the two men went to check on Annette's condition.
Parker invites Annette to wait in her treatment room. About a few minutes passed, a nurse and a female doctor stepped inside.
"Are you Annette's mother?" Ask the woman's doctor.
"Yes"
"Your baby's condition has improved a lot. He no longer needs to be in an incubator tube" the doctor said with a friendly smile on his lips, "If you already have breast milk, you can breastfeed it now"
"Well.." Annette was stabbed for a moment.
Breastfeeding?
"Thank you Sus.." Annette smiled and gently held the tiny baby into her arms. His movements were still so awkward that the nurse helped him to hold in a better and comfortable position.
"Then we'll excuse ourselves" and the two women left her room.
"Are you going to breastfeed your baby now?"
"Huh?"
"If so I'll wait outside" Parker said politely.
Annette simply nodded with both cheeks warmed up. Parker understood it. He kept coming out of the room and waiting outside.
Staring at her innocent little baby, Annette felt confused about what to do. Breastfeeding? The change of role from a young girl to a young mother..
Annette is not ready.
After drowning with her chaotic mind would have to do what. He decided to unbutton his patient's shirt to awkwardly check if he already had milk.
He just realized the front of his chest felt swollen. It felt fuller and heavier. Annette did something to check and sure enough, she found herself having breast milk.
Annette awkwardly thrust it into her baby's tiny mouth and for a while she felt a foreign feeling that made her bite her lower lip in pain.
"Uwaa.waa" Annette was surprised to find her little baby crying and spewing out the breast milk she had just drunk.
"Why is she crying?" Panic Annette. He tried to thrust again but the baby responded refusing to accept his breast milk.
"Why wouldn't he drink it?" It was his first experience and he had no one to ask about it. The light of the condition makes Annette panic not overcast.
"Cup.cup.."
"Sweet child. Don't cry yes" Annette thrust her again but..
"Uwaa.waa" The little baby again vomited his breast and refused to drink it.
Annette, who was already very confused, shouted to Parker who was still waiting outside.
"Sister Parker, what should I do? She won't stop crying?"
Hearing the scream, Parker opened the door and stepped inside. But the panorama in front of him immediately made his look turned his gaze to any direction, "Can you button your clothes first" Seemed that his earlobe reddened warm.
Annette who regained her senses, continued to feel embarrassed and quickly buttoned up her clothes.
"Sorry sister" Annette condemned her recklessness, "I've buttoned my shirt, sister can already see here" she said, sounding quite awkward.
Parker nodded and slowly turned towards Annette. He could see the young mother's face meet in red and panic at the same time.
"Why is your baby crying? Don't you have any breast milk for her yet?" Parker asked, his eyes staring at the baby carrying Annette who was constantly crying.
"I've given it to her but she's constantly resisting" Annette said, as frustration began to build up on her face, "She didn't stop crying, I was so confused about how to handle it"
Parker can see how sad the panicked expression of the young girl who has now changed roles to a mother is.
"Sister Parker, please help me..."
Annette knew it felt so inappropriate to trouble the person she had just known. But she was just a girl who had no relatives. So he had no choice but to ask Parker for help. From the beginning of their meeting, he could feel...
The man's sincerity.
