Albern and Lily
Better to Love Than to Love

Zivanna left Darrel and got into her car. Unheard of Darrel who chased and banged on the window glass of his car. He drove the vehicle without caring Darrel would get hurt.

Zivanna's tears fell unbearably. While driving, he occasionally wiped his wet cheeks. The harder Zivanna tried not to cry, the more tears flowed from her eyes. The girl could not help but endure the pain that was now raining down on every corner of her heart. After almost eight years, he finally had to end his relationship with Darrel like this. It felt unwilling, but this was what he had to do so as not to be constantly shackled in uncertainty.

Arriving home, Zivanna hurriedly entered her room and locked it from the inside. He did not want his parents to see his condition so messy, especially to find out that the cause was Darrel. Zivanna doesn't want their family-like parent relationship to fall apart just because she and Darrel broke up. From the beginning, it was she who asked Darrel to get into a relationship with her, without finding out in advance what the man felt like towards her. So he did not want to blame others for the wounds he had himself invited his arrival.

Darrel called again and again on a phone call, but Zivanna refused. Until then, Zivanna decided to block the man's contact number because she kept trying to contact him. Everything's ending. This was not an impulsive act, but Zivanna thought carefully before she talked about the future with Darrel. If Darrel stays evasive, then Zivanna will just end it all. That's determination.

Fortunately, no one was looking for Zivanna all night so she had enough time to calm down. In the morning, everything felt much better even though his heart was still very sad. Zivanna had breakfast with her parents as usual. As much as possible he did not show a sad face rather unattractive attention. After that, he quickly went to the office on the grounds that there was a morning meeting.

"Darrel?" Zivanna muttered to herself when she found a car she knew so well parked in the office. The car belongs to Darrel. But why did the man come here so early in the morning? Isn't the distance between his office and Brylee Group headquarters quite far?

Zivanna got out of her car immediately out of curiosity. But then, he was shocked when a man got out of the car right after him. Sure enough, that man was Darrel.

Zivanna was stunned for a moment, but hurriedly flipped over her body as Darrel took a quick step towards her.

"Zi." Darrel immediately held the end of Zivanna's sleeve.

Zivanna turned her head and bought towards the man, then threw Darrel's hand violently.

"Would you like to come here?" ask Zivanna ketus.

"We need to talk" Darrel said.

"Talk? Talkin' moreover? Didn't I say, our relationship is over. You're free!" Zivanna was about to pass, but again Darrel held her back.

"You misunderstood, Zi. We need to talk. I said yesterday that I wasn't ready to propose, but it's not what you think it is" Darrel said.

Zivanna sighed for a moment, then stared at the man with a gaze she had never shown before. Between angry, disappointed, sad and not knowing. It seemed like all the bad feelings that had been stifled all this time, were now mounting and bursting out mercilessly. True said people, the disappointment of people who are patient and not demanding much is terrible.

"Go from here. I don't need any explanation from you. It's been enough all this time that I've been trying to understand. I love you so much, but I'm not gonna beg you like a fool, Darrel. What my mother said was right. Something forced will end painfully. But I won't blame you for me forcing you into a relationship with me." Zivanna replied firmly.

"Zi, just five minutes," Darrel pinta then in a lower voice than before.

"No. Our relationship is over. There's nothing more we should talk about. I am also not an angel-hearted human being who can remain friends with the man who has hurt me. You should be happy to be free" Zivanna said.

"I don't want us to end up like this, Zi. Listen to what I want to say first. You misunderstood me," Darrel pinta again. This time his face was pleading.

Zivanna smiled wryly.

"Misunderstand what? Are you afraid that Uncle Dean will be affected by our relationship ending? If that's what you're worried about, there's no need to worry anymore. I'll make sure you and your parents don't get any impact. I told you you were free. You want to be in a relationship with the girl you like is not a problem. That's your right." Zivanna returned with an irony.

Darrel froze over hearing what Zivanna said. The man seemed unable to say anything.

"We both deserve to be happy, Darrel. I have been selfish all this time for holding you back from being by my side. I don't think you might not have the same feelings as me. But it's not too late now. You still have enough time to start a relationship with whoever you like. I also seem to be starting to open up to the guy who likes me. Because she said, women are better loved than loved if they want to be happy." Zivanna again added in a tone that was no less ironic.

Zivanna passed from before Darrel, and this time Darrel was only sculpting without being able to hold Zivanna as before. I don't know what's on that man's mind, only God knows. He just left afterwards with a face that remained unreadable.

Zivanna was a little relieved that Darrel didn't force her to talk to her. But on the other hand, his heart was getting sick because it seemed to imply that Darrel did not have any feelings for him.

Zivanna repeatedly let out a long sigh to ease the rumbling in her chest at this moment. He tried to be strong and swallow the bitter taste alone. He used to be a spoiled kid. But Darrel has slowly turned him into a much more resilient and independent figure. Although sick, he still had to thank the man who had filled his days.

Time passes quickly. Evening was approaching, but Zivanna did not also move from the office by giving her mother an excuse if she was overtime. Actually he was just wanting to drown himself with a rush that made him slightly forget his heartbreak at this moment.

But then, his phone suddenly rang. The mother, whom he had contacted recently, called him back.

"What's up, Ma?" ask Zivanna after receiving the call.

"Zi, go home now. Darrel and his parents came to the house and are now talking to your father. Looks like they came to propose to you," Zaya said across the street.
