Pick up Lily

"Honey, please don't make a fuss at Brylee's house later ...." Carissa said carefully while glancing at Evan. Her husband was driving the car with a very serious face until Carissa felt a little bit of a worry made.

"I just want to bring my daughter home instead of making a fuss" Evan replied without turning his head.

"When have I ever made a fuss?" mumbling again.

Carissa did not answer. True Evan said, he is a man with high self-control and not easily angry, especially when dealing with others. But if it comes to Lily, Carissa believes Evan can do anything. That was what made his heart a little worried.

"Not to worry. Your husband is still very sane, Carissa," Evan said once again.

Carissa didn't say anything anymore. The atmosphere in the car became quiet until they reached the Brylee family residence.

Evan's car paused for a moment at the gate of the Brylee family home guarded by several security guards. After seeing that came Carissa and Evan, who still counted relatives of Brylee's family, one of the security guards opened the gate. Evan drove back to the Brylee family home.

Evan gets out of his car, followed by Carissa. Carissa then pressed the bell until shortly after the main door of the Brylee family residence was opened.

A servant was seen from behind the door and immediately let the two of them in.

Evan enters with a steady pace, while Carissa follows Evan with a feeling of uncertainty. Carissa is still a little afraid of what will happen later.

"Sister Evan, Carissa?" Zaya who had first noticed Evan and Carissa's arrival looked a little surprised.

Everyone in the room turned their heads and showed a Zaya-like reaction. Aaron, Albern, Zivanna and Brylee's big lady, Ginna, all look up to Evan and Carissa.

"Papa?" Lily who just returned from the toilet was also no less surprised when she found her parents were in the Brylee family residence.

"Sorry, disrupt your family's events" Evan said as he moved closer and closer to everyone.

"Doctor Evan, welcome. Sorry we didn't know you were back. It's great to see you coming here" Aaron got up from his seat and welcomed Evan.

Evan did not answer. He just stared coldly at Zaya's husband while commenting on a thin smile. Carissa and Zaya looked at each other. The two women looked rather anxious at the interaction of their two husbands.

"I'm sorry to disappoint you, but I'm not here to visit Brylee's family, but to pick up my daughter Lily" Evan replied later.

Replace the smiling Aaron.

"Lily will have lunch with us, and Albern will take her home. But since you and Carissa are already here, you better join in as well" Aaron responded.

"Why would Lily have to have lunch with Brylee's family? Our house has no shortage of groceries even though our family isn't as rich as the Brylee family,"

Carissa turned her head towards Evan with an increasingly erratic heart. It seems that everything will not be okay.

"Uncle Evan." This time it was Albern who got up and approached Evan.

"I'm sorry for inviting Lily to our family event without Uncle's permission. I don't know if Uncle's going home today,"

Evan's view turned towards Albern. The middle-aged man's gaze looked increasingly cold until the atmosphere became somewhat gripping.

"Why did you ask Lily to join Brylee's family show?" asked Evan sharply.

Albern was silent for a moment. Already from the beginning he wanted to acknowledge his relationship with Lily in front of Evan, but not in this kind of atmosphere either.

"Lily doesn't have any capacity to take part in your family events, so now I'm taking her home." Evan approached Lily, then clasped the girl's wrist.

"Ma ...." Lily seemed to want to say something to Evan, but was too afraid to undo her intentions.

"Uncle Evan," Albern's voice stopped Evan's steps.

"Please allow Lily to stay here until after lunch. I'll drive him home later, "please ask Albern carefully.

"I told you. Lily doesn't have any capacity to take part in your family's events,"

"No, Uncle, Lily's got. Lily ... Lily is now my future wife" Albern said without hesitation.

Evan looked back at Albern with a cold look. He did not look surprised to hear Albern's confession. Of course, because Evan has known about it since he was in Singapore. But even though he did not show his expression of surprise, Evan still made people who saw become hopeful anxious.

"Oh, huh?" Evan pretended to have an expression of disbelief.

"Yes, Uncle. You've been in a relationship for a while now,"

"Then, why don't I know anything?" asked Evan again with some sarcasm. His gaze turned to Lily who now looked frightened.

"Ma-sorry, Pa. I asked Al not to tell Papa first" Lily said as she lowered her head.

"I'm wrong, Uncle. I should have been gentle and told Uncle from the start. Please don't blame Lily. I'd do anything for Uncle to forgive me and give Uncle's blessing to us,"

Evan smiled again, but this time his smile looked really awful.

"Stop saying nonsense" Evan said later.

"Lily, let's go home!" Evan pulled Lily's hand back and continued his steps. Carissa would not want to follow the steps of her husband.

"Zaya, Aunt Ginna. Sorry, we went straight home." said Carissa with a bad face.

Zaya could only nod. He did not expect that until this moment Evan still did not like his son.

'Doctor Evan, why does it have to be like this. Your daughter and my son love each other and want each other. Why do you object to their relationship? There was no harm in them getting into a relationship" Aaron's voice came back after he had given Albern a chance to speak.

"Of course for you there's nothing wrong. Because after all, if anything untoward happened, the one who was harmed was Lily, not Albern. But I won't let anything bad happen to my daughter."

"What do you mean, Doctor Evan?" Aaron asked in a bit of confusion.

"It's not important to you. As bad as anything as long as it doesn't affect Brylee Group's share price, it won't matter."

Aaron knitted his eyebrows together. Same with everyone else who was there.

"What are you talking about?" ask Aaron not to understand.

"I told you, it doesn't matter. Excuse me." Evan said again as he stepped back.

"Doctor Evan." Someone else called Evan. This time it was Mrs Ginna who did it.
