The Temptation of Junk Food

After Lily ended her phone call, Albern seemed to lay his back on the back of the chair with a long sigh. Actually, he had guessed that Lily would eventually decide to obey his father's wishes. That's what Albern wanted. He even asked Zivanna for help to open Lily's mind. But for some reason, after hearing Lily say herself if she was going to leave, especially while crying like that, it felt like Albern's heart became unwilling. She came across Lily's desperate face the other day as she comforted the girl at an inn.

Why is everything so complicated? If the girl Albern liked was not Lily, daughter of Doctor Evan, now Albern would have been preoccupied with the wedding plans, because they all will definitely not waste the opportunity to be a companion of an Albern Brylee.

There are so many women who blatantly want to be her life partner, but all Albern wants is Lily. The only girl who can steal his heart. The girl who had even made Albern fall in love since he was born first. Absolutely magical.

"Dhani, is there a time lag after the meeting before I attend the invitation from our client?" albern asked then on his asiaten.

"There, Young Master. About thirty minutes," replied Assistant Dhani.

Albern sighed for a moment. Today and the next few days are very busy. From morning until night he had to do his work according to the agenda.

"I need a minute. Can you set the thirty-minute time gap to an hour?"

"Yes?" Dhani's assistant seemed a little unsure of what she had heard earlier because Albern usually never retreated during meetings.

"There's something I need to take care of first. I need an hour" repeated Albern.

"But, Young Master …."

"It's important!" Albern reaffirmed. Dhani's assistant had no choice but to agree with her master.

Albern's break was finally over. Soon he was preparing to attend a meeting with a client who was also very important. This time the meeting took place in a fancy restaurant because it coincided with lunch time.

An hour later, Albern discussed the deal with his client, and then reached a deal that benefited both parties. Albern is very good at doing this so it is not surprising that the Brylee Group is now always successful in collaborating with a great business partner.

After the meeting was over, Albern chose to leave the place immediately.

"Sir, where are you going?" assistant Dhani asked as she quickly caught up with Albern.

"Don't I tell you, I have something to take care of!" Albern replied half-callingly, until Assistant Dhani did not dare to ask again.

"You go straight back to the office in a taxi, I want to bring my own car," Albern said again when he realized Assistant Dhani was following him.

"But, Young Master …."

"No need to argue with me, Dhani, take care of it now so I can have an hour to get my business done."

Dhani's assistant spoke no more. He bowed his head and answered Albern's words.

Albern sighed for a moment, trying to calm his slightly muddled mind from hearing Lily's cry earlier. After feeling better, the man continued his steps toward his parked car, then drove the vehicle across the city street. 

On the way, Albern immediately contacted Lily to ask her where the girl was at the moment. And as Albern had expected, the girl had not yet returned home. He was still in the city park near his campus when Albern asked him where he was. It was still in the same position when he called Albern a while ago.

Soon Albern directed the car he was driving towards that place. It did not take too long, finally Albern arrived and pulled over his car. He got out of the car while sweeping his surrounding view, looking for Lily's figure. It's not hard to find that girl. Her figure that contrasts with the appearance of others because of her striking beautiful face, makes Lily can be found easily.

Exhaling a rough breath, Albern immediately approached the girl. Fortunately, no one had any ill intentions for Lily. Otherwise, the girl would have been an easy target for criminals as she daydreamed alone on a park bench, looking very negligent and tantalizing. 

"Lilly." Albern called out to the girl while she was right in front of him. 

Of course, Lily's daydream instantly broke. He lifted his face and immediately smiled happily when he realized that the man he so longed for was now in front of him.

"Sir Al." Lily got up while trying to smile at Albern.

Lily did not answer. Of course she's crying. Didn't Albern himself also hear Lily's cry as the boy called her?

"Come, I'll drive you home" Albern asked later.

"No way." Lily answered quickly.

Albern slightly sighed. She knows Lily is not okay right now.

"Do you want to stay here?" ask Albern. "You don't realize you could be a victim of crime sitting here alone."

Lily's a little woozy. He had just realized that the atmosphere of the park was quiet enough that there might be people who had good intentions for him. Because it's too upset, he didn't think he'd get there.

"Have you eaten?" ask Albern later.

Lily shook her head. "I'm not hungry" he replied softly while throwing his face the other way.

"Jeez, Lily. It's late afternoon, why haven't you eaten yet? Where are Zivanna and Darrel? Why aren't they with you?" Albern looked worried 

"They went to the bookstore. I didn't want to go with them because I wanted to be alone" Lily replied.

"Then, now we're looking for food" Albern asked.

"don't want. I'm not hungry. Al thinks I can swallow food under these circumstances?"

Albern again nodded.

"Of course you should eat under any circumstances, Lily. Otherwise, you'll get sick."

"But I'm not hungry. How to eat if I can't feel hungry." Lily insisted.

Albern was silent for a moment. She knows Lily is a stubborn girl and will only do something if she wants to. 

"I just remembered. Not far from here it seemed like there was a seafood restaurant," Albern murmured as if speaking to himself.

Lily looks uninterested even if seafood is her favorite food.

"Ah, yes, near here there is also a burger shop. It seems good that this afternoon eat a special burger with double beef and extra cheese. Especially if you order jumbo drinks and vanilla ice cream," said Albern again.

Lily turned her head and looked at Albern with a hard-to-describe look. 

Kruukk krruuukkk ...  

Albern and Lily looked at each other when they heard a long scream sound from one's stomach. Lily's face turned red with slightly widened eyes. It seems that the girl's sadness has no effect in the face of a burger with a double beef. Lily may not taste seafood, but she can't resist the temptation of junk food.
