Lily was silent at her study table while looking straight ahead. His mind drifted somewhere, thinking about what he should do. Even at dinner last Lily was completely tasteless. Though today the cuisine available is the favorite cuisine of Lily all.

Lily then remembered Albern. The man should be notified immediately though the news might disappoint him.

Lily reluctantly grabbed her phone and dialed Albern's number.

"Hello." There was the sound of Albern greeting across there.

"Sir Al is on a job?" Lily asked.not wanting to until she interrupted Albern's work.

"I'm just done with it. What's up?"

"Nothing, just wanted to contact Al's sister." Lily doesn't know how to tell Albern that she might not be able to attend the company party later.

"Why not sleep? It's been quite a night." Ask Albern later.

"I can't sleep yet." Lily answered in an unusual tone.

Albern was silent for a moment, he realized that at this time someone was trying to calm Lily.

"What's wrong?" Albern asked again. This time his voice sounded softer than before.

Lily did not answer. It sounded as if he let out a long sigh, as if something was really making his chest feel tight.

"Lilly..." Albern called the girl back very gently.

"My father went to Singapore this afternoon." Lily finally said.

"Something happened to Papa's hospital. It's likely that Papa will be there for more than a week. We cannot tell about our relationship. I also might not be able to accompany Kak Al to the company party." Lily again. He almost cried when he said that to Albern.

Both were silent for a while. It seemed that Albern was also thinking and digesting the words Lily had just spoken.

"Sir Al, could it be that our relationship is wrong? Why doesn't it feel like we're allowed to ask Papa for his blessing?" Lily asked again in a slightly trembling voice.

"What did you say? Of course it's not like that. If your Papa's hospital gets a disaster, and he has to go to coincide with when we want to see him, of course it's just a coincidence, not because our relationship is a mistake. My heartfelt intention is to make you my wife, Lily." Albern tried to comfort Lily.

"Then what about the company party. I may not be able to come with Kak Al, even though Kak Al has prepared everything."

Albern was silent again. Actually from the deepest corner of his heart, he felt a little disappointed. As Lily had said, she had already prepared everything to formally introduce Lily as her future wife. But of course Albern knows if everything that is happening right now is beyond his reach. Showing disappointment will not solve anything, will only add to Lily's sadness.

"What about your Mama?" Ask Albern later.

"Mama can't help anything. If Papa hasn't given permission, Mama can't make a decision. I hope there won't be any problems if I don't come to the party. Maybe next time Al introduces me to people."

Albern was silent again. This time he was the one who sounded out breathing.

"Lily, there's actually something I haven't told you yet." Albern finally.

"Tell me what?" Ask Lily.

"It's about my meeting with the owner of a property company in New York the other day."

Lily was stunned with a feeling that began to erratic.

"Yes. His name is Mr. Adrian Graham. He was Papa's college friend. When we met, Mr and Mrs Graham frankly told me that they wished I was married to his daughter. Of course I refused and said that I already had a wife of my own choice. But they don't just believe. That's why I want to take you to the company party later and introduce you to my colleagues. I want Mr and Mrs Graham to believe that I was serious at the time. I already have a wife."

Lily's choked. It turned out that was the reason Albern wanted to formally introduce himself. It was because Albern wanted to confirm Lily's position on his side. Albern even resolutely rejected someone as important as Mr. Adrian Graham. His current business partner is also a friend of his father, Aaron Brylee. And don't forget the services of Adrian who once saved Brylee Group from bankruptcy in the past.

Albern did just that so far for Lily's sake.

"I'm lucky Mama and Papa gave me the freedom to choose my own partner. But if I refuse Papa's best friend's wishes for no apparent reason, it's certainly not a good thing. I really need your presence at the company party later, because it concerns the future of our relationship."

Lily couldn't hold herself back much longer. Her tears fell unbearably on both sides of her cheeks.

"Sister Al .. What should I do?" He nodded with a trembling voice.

"Don't worry, there's still time. There must be a way that you can come to the company party later as my partner." Albern again tried to entertain even though he actually felt gamang himself. Hearing Lily's tone just now, she knew that the girl had cried.

Really crybaby. But that made Albern even more determined to embrace and provide protection with all his strength.

"Lily, may I ask you one thing?" The sentence successfully made Lily hold back her cries.

"What mean?"

Albern remained silent for a while.

"You really love me, don't you?" Ask Albern later.

"What does Al mean?"

"Tell me, Lily. I'd really like to hear it. I want to hear those words coming out of your mouth. Do you really love me?"

"of course. I love Al so much, I don't even know when. It's been a long time since I've kept that feeling to Brother Al."

Lily did not know if Albern was currently reviewing his smile across the street.

"Lily, even though our path will be filled with obstacles, will you stick to our intention to get married in the future?"

"I don't care about what will happen later, as long as Kak Al keeps that commitment, I will do the same. I will continue to survive even if I have to be hurt." Lily said steadily and confidently.

"I'll never let you get hurt, Lily. All you have to do is stay by my side. I'll do anything to protect you. If in your heart there is already such a belief, then there is nothing for me to worry about anymore. I'll do anything so we can stay together and be a legitimate couple in time." Albern said in earnest.

"Now don't worry anymore. Try to sleep. Don't think about anything else, okay?"

"OK..."

The phone connection was also cut off. Lily and Albern both sighed in different places. The two human children who hold each other's commitments look gamang with thoughts that float somewhere.
