Early Struggle

"Sister Al, really, I'm not like that. I'm not what those people said," Lily's tears welled up in the corner of her eyes and dripped unbearably.

"I never expected to get the luxury of being in a relationship with Big Brother. I don't even mind if I have to sign a contract not to use the Brylee family fortune if one day we get married later" Lily said.

Albern sighed, then gently rubbed Lily's head at a glance. Of course Albern knew that Lily was not what was written in the online news. Albern did not doubt it and Lily did not have to explain it to Albern. It's just, Albern really understands that at this time Lily must be very sad and depressed after reading all the bad news about her.

"Yes, of course I believe. Without you saying anything, I know that you love me sincerely. No need to think about what you read. Soon all the articles will be lost from the news," said Albern calming.

Lily did not answer. He just sobbed.

"Sorry, Assistant Dhani was late to tell me about the news, so you read it before all the articles were cleared. It's my fault for not taking good care of you. I promise, there will be nothing like that in the future. I'm not going to let people talk bad about you anymore" Albern said.

"Sir Al ..." Lily looked up at Albern.

"If there's a rumor about me that's worse than this, even if it looks very convincing though, will Brother Al still believe me?" ask Lily.

"Do I have to answer? Don't you know what the answer is?"

"It could be later that Brother Al doesn't believe me anymore .." Lily murmured softly.

"Lily," Albern sighed for a moment and turned his head towards Lily.

"I've known you since you were born. I watched you grow up, from the time you were little until you became an adult. Of course I know very well what your nature and character are. Don't be afraid I'll be influenced by the opinions of others who misrepresent you. I know better what you are than all of them. I even know what you were doing when you used to use diapers" Albern said earnestly, but ended with a joke at the end of his sentence.

"Sir Al!" Lily glared with a face that met red.

Albern laughed crisply. It seems that her joke just now managed to make Lily's grief a little distracted.

"If there's a man who knows best what you are, it's me. Even your father does not know much about what naughty things you have done," said Albern again while flicking Lily's forehead slowly.

"What did Al say, anyway? Who did you say was naughty?" kilah Lily while holding her forehead.

Albern smiles.

"Of course you are who else. In addition to inviting Zi to steal mangoes, you also have other naughty things that are not known by your Mama and Papa. Do I want to mention them one by one?"

"Sir Al, enough!" Lily sontak.

Albern again chuckled.

"I know everything, Lily. I know what you like to do a long time ago. You are a naughty and stubborn girl. But I also know that you have a good heart and you are sincere" Albern said.

"If I let you go, maybe my whole life I won't be able to find someone who will accept me for who you are,"

"Never feel sad again because of something like this, okay?" pinta Albern's.

Lily nodded.

"Not sad anymore?" ask Albern.

Lily nodded again. He also smiled again to convince Albern if he was okay.

"In that case, I'll have to drive you home immediately. Your father will be even more angry if it passes from the limits he has determined earlier," said Albern as he returned to holding the wheel.

Albern turned the engine back on, and drove the vehicle to the family home of Doctor Evan. Along the way, they were both silent. But one of Albern's hands continued to hold Lily's fingers, as if he wanted to channel his strength and convince her that everything would be fine.

"Is it possible that Papa's anger had something to do with the article I read on the online news?" ask Lily suddenly.

Albern looked over for a moment.

"It seems so. Your father may have read the article since he was in Singapore, so hurry back" he replied.

Lily seemed to nod her head while sighing. She finally understood why her father had looked so friendly. The article he read earlier must have made the heart of the father broken. He only hoped, there was still a gap for him to be able to fight for his relationship with Albern. It seemed that he had to put in more effort to obtain his blessing.

Not noticeably, Albern's car had entered the courtyard of Doctor Evan's family home. Albern immediately parked his car and got out of the car. Then he opened the car door for Lily.

The two then entered the house which was immediately greeted by Lily's mother.

"Thank you for bringing Lily home, Albern," Carissa said in a pleasant conversation. The middle-aged woman smiled and invited Albern to sit down.

"Sister Al, I go inside first, yes," Lily said.

Albern nodded. Lily went to her room. Albern sat in the living room with Carissa. It seems there is something he wants to say.

"Auntie, I'm really sorry for everything that happened. I promise it won't happen again. I will never let people say bad things about Lily again" Albern said in a regretful tone.

Carissa was silent for a moment. Although Albern did not explain clearly, he knew where Albern was going at the moment. Carissa thought, surely Albern already knew the news in the online media.

"Albern, before you, we as Lily's parents were the first to protect her. We won't let Lily get hurt even if it's just a fingernail," Carissa sighed for a moment.

"Papa Lily won't allow Aunt to tell you this, but Auntie thinks you should know. We didn't want the news about Lily to get any worse, so we agreed to stay out of the news. Lily will continue her education overseas, Lily,"
