Volume 2: Chapter 2 - Assassin's Requiem

Requiem looked at the prince standing before him, while a majestic royal background was visible behind him. The prince looked calm, but Requiem could feel a strong pressure from that person.

"Your job is to kill me, right?" asked the prince in a calm voice.

Requiem simply nodded. He had been instructed to complete this task mercilessly. There is no room for error.

"I know why they sent you. They were afraid of me" said the prince. "They were afraid of my power and afraid of what I could use it with."

Requiem observed the prince carefully. There was something about the prince's silence and calmness that made him feel suspicious. This task felt too easy, too simple.

"But you need not fear me, Requiem," said the prince with a faint smile. "I'm not going to fight you. I'll turn myself in to you."

Requiem is not sure. He had seen many tricks like this before. However, when the prince reached out his hand as a sign of surrender, Requiem took the opportunity and grabbed his hand. Suddenly, he felt shaken by the powerful magical power. He had almost lost the battle of mind and strength, but he had managed to suppress the magical power of the prince with his own strength.

After a brief battle of thoughts, Requiem manages to find out that the prince is innocent and he has been betrayed by his own family. Requiem felt moved to help the prince and help him escape from those who sought his life.

Requiem and the prince decide to work together to uncover the conspiracy and save the kingdom. With the help of new allies discovered by Requiem, they begin to infiltrate the royal palace and uncover many hidden secrets.

However, when they almost manage to uncover the truth, Requiem stumbles into a formidable battle against the cunning royal bodyguards and a chase from other hitmen who are also ordered to kill the prince. Despite that difficult situation, Requiem and his new allies managed to capture the prince and escape the scene.

After successfully escaping the chase, they meet an old witch who has important information about the conspiracy. The witch tells them that the prince is actually a victim of the larger royal political game and he is actually innocent.

Requiem and his team decide to protect the prince and help him dismantle the conspiracy. They infiltrate the royal palace and fight against the powerful royal guard forces. In the battle, Requiem and his friends are forced to sacrifice themselves to save the prince.

However, in the last moment, Requiem manages to execute his plan and defeat the corrupt king who had devised the conspiracy. The prince then ruled wisely and abolished the corrupt political system in his kingdom.

Despite the many casualties that have occurred, Requiem is relieved that he managed to pay off all of his past mistakes and help the prince prove the truth. He and his new allies then continue their adventures, ready to take on any new challenges that may arise in the future.
