Volume 2 Chapter 3: Assassin's Requiem

Requiem pondered the task he had been given. He had to kill Prince Helios, the youngest son of the reigning king of the neighboring country. Prince Helios is believed to be leading an invasion force into his own country. It would endanger the lives of thousands. Requiem should not feel sad or hesitant. However, for the first time in his life, he felt unsure.

After preparing himself, Requiem began his journey towards the palace where Prince Helios was located. He used his unparalleled skill to break through the security layer of the palace and enter the prince's room. However, as he prepared to attack, he heard the voice of Prince Helios pleading with someone on the phone.

"We need to get this over with as soon as possible" Prince Helios said. "We can't let them know about our plan."

Requiem. If this prince was really planning an invasion, would he not have done the right job by killing him? But if this prince is innocent, Requiem will kill an innocent young boy.

However, before he could decide what to do, Prince Helios suddenly turned his head towards him. "Who are you?" ask with astonishment.

Requiem took out a knife and prepared to fight. "I am Requiem" he replied. "And you must die."

However, Prince Helios only smiled. "Ah, you came to kill me. That's how the world works, isn't it? But do you know why I have to die?"

Requiem fell silent, but then shrugged his shoulders. "That's none of my business. I'm just doing my job."

Prince Helios looked at him with a cold gaze. "Do you really not want to know why you have to kill me? Doesn't that matter to you as a hit man?"

Requiem fell silent, pondering over the words of Prince Helios. Before he could give an answer, the door of the room opened and several palace troops entered.

"What's going on here?" ask one of them.

Prince Helios looked at Requiem, then said, "This is a hit man. He came to kill me."

The palace troops immediately captured Requiem and took him to prison. Requiem thought of the words of Prince Helios. What exactly happened behind this prince's actions? Was he really planning an invasion or was there something deeper?

Requiem realized that he had to find out the truth. He enlists the help of his new ally, a secret agent who has helped him before on another assignment. Together, they begin to trace the prince's trail and find evidence that reveals a shocking truth.

The prince is deeply sorry and wants to right his wrongs, and is willing to work with Requiem and his new allies to stop the conspiracy.

Requiem and his new allies then began planning their actions to stop the coup. They work together with several supporting characters, including secret agents, knights, and witches, to plan a strategy. After some fierce battles, they finally managed to defeat the figures behind the conspiracy and return the kingdom to the rightful prince.

After successfully stopping the conspiracy, Requiem and the prince parted peacefully. The prince was very grateful to Requiem for his help and support. Requiem, who had previously lived in solitude, felt a change in him after meeting his new allies and successfully stopping the conspiracy. He realizes that even a hitman can change and fight for the truth, and feels that he has found a new meaning in his life.
