Assassin's Requiem
Chapter 9

Requiem stepped cautiously in the halls of the palace, a weapon hidden behind his black robe. He had followed Prince Aiden's lead all the way here, and he was sure that his target must be inside one of the surrounding rooms.

However, after a while of walking, Requiem felt something was amiss. There were too many guards around, and they looked too wary. He felt that something was wrong, and that made him even more vigilant.

Finally, he reached a large door and peeked into it. Inside, he saw Prince Aiden sitting on the throne, with a group of guards around him.

But what shocked Requiem was what he saw behind the prince. There was a witch standing behind him, placing a hand on the prince's back and sending magical energy to his body.

Requiem felt his heart pounding fast. He knew that he had to act quickly if he wanted to stop what was going on. He held his sword tightly and opened the door violently.

"Who are you?" asked Prince Aiden, the guard standing beside him was already preparing to act.

Requiem looked at the prince sharply. He knew that he had to speak quickly if he wanted to make him believe.

"I was a hit man, but I didn't come to kill you" Requiem said. "I came to tell you about the conspiracy that's going on behind your back."

Prince Aiden was shocked to hear that, and Requiem saw his disbelief on his face.

"There's a witch behind you, she's giving magical energy to your body" Requiem said. "It's not for your own good. I'm sure that they want to take your power and use you for their own purposes."

Prince Aiden looked doubtful, but he decided to believe in Requiem's words. He gestured to the guards around him to capture the witch, and when that happened, Requiem secured the room and made sure that there was no more threat.

Afterwards, Prince Aiden and Requiem sat down together and talked about what happened. Prince Aiden revealed that he had long been suspicious about the witch and that he was grateful for Requiem's help.

Requiem was relieved that he had managed to protect the prince and stop the conspiracy that was going on. However, he also felt moved by the friendship he had just developed with the prince.

They exchanged words and stories about their pasts that each had a deep secret. The prince also revealed that he is not actually a selfish and powerful person as people often talk about, but he would rather do good for his people.

Requiem began to feel that he could trust the prince and see the goodness in him. However, as the two of them plan to uncover more about the conspiracy going on, Requiem gets word that there are other hitmen chasing after the prince.

On their way to protect the prince from a new hitman, Requiem and the prince discover that the conspiracy they thought was over is still ongoing and getting bigger. They must work together to stop the conspiracy and confront a powerful and dangerous enemy.

In the midst of battle and sacrifice, Requiem begins to develop deeper feelings for the prince and realizes that they have something in common in their outlook on life and kindness. However, at the same time, Requiem also realizes that he cannot forget his past as a ruthless and hostile hitman.

When the conspiracy is finally revealed and their enemy defeated, Requiem must choose between living in a world filled with violence and solitude or living with friendship and love. The prince offers a chance to start a new life, but Requiem must decide if he is ready to change his life.

"You know, prince, I've lived for years without trusting anyone" Requiem said in a soft voice. "But, I feel that you are completely different. You are a person worthy of trust."

The prince looked at Requiem with a serious look. "Thank you, Requiem. Just like you, I have never felt like I can trust anyone around me. But you, you are completely different. You are a person to rely on."

Requiem smiled slightly. "We can trust each other, prince. We've experienced so much together, and I'm sure that we can face the future better if we trust each other."

The prince smiled in reply. "I agree, Requiem. We'll face the future together."

After that, Requiem and the prince continued on their way to the princely kingdom. During the trip, they talk about various things, including about the prince's past and his plans to improve the situation in his kingdom.

Requiem was happy because he had finally found someone he could trust and had indeed become a friend to him. He felt that he had found a place in the world that previously felt foreign and empty.

However, their journey did not go as smoothly as they had hoped. They are constantly attacked by the followers of a conspiracy that fails to carry out their plan to kill the prince. Requiem and the prince continued to fight, defeating every enemy that came.

One night, while they were spending the night in the woods, they were attacked by a large army. Requiem and the prince tried to fight as best they could, but they were desperate and nearly defeated. At the last moment, they were saved by a knight who emerged from the darkness.

"We can't let you die here, prince," the knight said in a stern voice.

The prince looked at the knight with a surprised look. "My brother, how did you suddenly appear here?"

The knight smiled. "I've been watching your every move, my sister. And I know that you're in danger."

Requiem was shocked to learn that the knight was the prince's elder brother. He never expected that the prince had a brother who became a knight.

When they had all returned to the princely kingdom, the knight informed them that the conspiracy was still ongoing, and that they should remain vigilant. Requiem and the prince team up with the knight to uncover the truth behind the conspiracy and stop them before it's too late.

They pursue the followers of the conspiracy and eventually find their center of power. They entered the building cautiously and confronted the conspiracy leader. Requiem and the knight fight tenaciously, while the prince tries to stop the device used by the conspiracy to rule the kingdom.

After a fierce fight, they finally managed to defeat the conspiracy leader and stop his plan. The prince managed to restore his kingdom to peacetime and began to make necessary reforms to prevent something similar from happening again in the future.

Requiem was satisfied to have successfully protected the prince and helped uncover the conspiracy. He also feels happy to have found a true friend and trust someone for the first time in his life.

As their journey home began, Requiem looked up at the sky and smiled. He knew that the future might be full of obstacles and dangers, but he felt more prepared to face it now, with the prince and the knight by his side.
