Assassin's Requiem
Volume 2:Chapter 6

Requiem stared at the frightening sight before him. The kingdom was on fire, and millions of people were injured or killed in the massive attack. He could feel his anger rising when he saw hundreds of corpses strewn across the streets.

He knew that it was not his duty to take action in this war, but his heart felt heavy and he felt a responsibility to stop all this.

As he walked through the rubble, he saw the Prince standing there, in a state of disintegration and filled with dust. He smiled at Requiem.

"You can trust me, Requiem," the Prince said in a soft voice. "I'm not responsible for this. Those are the people who want to kill me and bring down my kingdom who are responsible for all this."

Requiem nodded, even though he knew that there was more secret behind the Prince's words than it seemed.

"But we must act quickly" the prince continued. "The people who attacked this have tremendous power, and we have to stop them before it's too late."

Requiem understood that he had to act quickly. He pulled out his sword and was ready for action.

"We will fight together" said the Prince. "I will lead you to our army. Together we will defeat our enemies."

Requiem nodded, following the Prince through the ruined road towards the base of the royal army.

They met the remaining royal forces, who were left out of the massive assault. The troops looked tired and sad, but they were still ready to fight.

"What can I do?" ask the Prince Requiem.

"First of all, I need you to kill an evil knight who leads the enemy army" the Prince replied. "He's very strong, so I need you to pick him up quickly and efficiently."

Requiem nodded, and he slid into the battlefield, looking for the knight.

He found it after a few minutes. The knight looked strong, with a large and thick body that protected him from enemy attacks. He raised his sword and dashed towards Requiem.

Requiem dodges and dodges easily. He took out his sword and slashed the knight's arm quickly and sharply.

The knight fell to the ground in a loud voice, and Requiem saw that he was dead.

The prince looked at Requiem and nodded at his direction. "Thank you, Requiem. You saved my life."

Requiem nodded and looked at the prince sharply. "This doesn't mean I'll forget the original task. I'm gonna finish this job."

The prince nodded again. "I understand. But, please listen to me first."

He began to explain that he was innocent as it seemed at first. In fact, he had been the target of a conspiracy from his enemies who wanted to take over his power. They falsified the evidence and manipulated the situation so that it seemed as if the prince was committing a crime.

Requiem listened carefully, pondering over the prince's words. He felt that there was truth in his explanation, and decided to investigate further.

They work together to gather evidence and find out who is responsible for the conspiracy. During the journey, Requiem begins to open up and reveal some of his personal secrets to the prince, and they begin to develop a friendship that grows stronger.

After a few weeks, they found the mastermind behind the conspiracy and managed to prove that the prince was innocent. The prince's leadership became stronger and more stable after uncovering the conspiracy, and Requiem was recognized as a hero by the kingdom.

However, Requiem still had to complete his original task as an assassin. He meets with his client and informs him that the prince is actually innocent, and offers his client a choice: either kill the prince and receive payment, or cancel the contract and receive a pardon from the prince.

His client, impressed by Requiem's honesty and integrity, chose to cancel the contract and pay him a payment as a token of gratitude for the work Requiem had done.

Requiem left the kingdom in relief, knowing that he had chosen his own path and chose truth over money. He is satisfied with his victory in defeating the conspiracy and finding a true friend in the prince. However, he knows that he must continue to live in solitude and live his life as a hitman, always ready to accept his next challenging assignment.

Requiem replied calmly, "I'm fine, thank you. How are you, Ralof?"

Ralof smiled and nodded. "I'm doing fine. I know you've just completed an important mission. How does it feel to be a hero?"

Requiem just shook his head. "I'm not a hero, Ralof. I'm just doing my job as a hit man."

Ralof shrugged his shoulders. "Maybe so, but at least you've helped uncover the truth and protect innocent people. That's more than enough to be considered a hero."

Requiem nodded, appreciating the words of his friend. "I still feel like there's a lot to say. Who the prince really is and what his motivation is."

Ralof scrunched his forehead. "I also felt that there was something strange about the prince's actions. But you have to be careful, Requiem. You've gained many enemies over the years as a notorious hitman. Who knows if someone's trying to stalk your step."

Requiem nodded, realizing that Ralof was right. He should not be careless and should always be on the lookout for threats. "Thank you for the warning, Ralof. I'll be careful."

Ralof smiled and rubbed the back of Requiem's hand. "You know you've always had a place in my heart, Requiem. If anyone needs help, please don't hesitate to contact me."

Requiem smiled, happy to have a friend like Ralof who was always ready to help him. They hugged and Requiem allowed himself to feel the warmth of the friendship growing between them.

When Ralof left, Requiem pondered back on everything that had happened and decided that he would not stop until he discovered the truth. He knew that it would take time and might threaten his life, but he was prepared to take the risk. For Requiem, seeking the truth is more important than his own life.

The witch smiled again and said, "You will find the answer you are looking for, Requiem. But first, you must learn to accept yourself and forgive yourself for the mistakes you made in the past. You must find peace within yourself before you can continue on your journey."

Requiem nodded and said, "I'll try."

The witch smiled again and said, "I will help you, Requiem. I will teach you how to control your power and how to use that power for good. And once you find your own peace, I'll help you find the answer you're looking for."

Requiem felt relieved and thanked the witch. He felt that he had found a place that he really called home, a place where he could find peace and happiness. He knows that the journey will not be easy, but he is ready to step forward and face his destiny with courage and determination.

They then plan to repair the ship and prepare for a dangerous journey to where Selena might be heading. During the trip, they think of strategies and find out more about Selena and the conspiracy that is going on.

After a few days of sailing, they finally arrived at their destination. They found an old, neglected, dusty town in the middle of the forest. However, they felt that there was a strong magical presence around the city.

They entered the city carefully and tried not to attract attention. They investigate every corner of the city, finding out about Selena and the conspiracy that ensued. They finally found a temple hidden in the forest. The temple was filled with a powerful magical presence, and they felt that this was where Selena was.
