Assassin's Requiem

Assassin's Requiem
CHAPTER 3: THE DESTRUCTION

Requiem and his friend, a young knight named Alec, manage to enter the palace where the Prince is located. They jumped over the walls, slipped among the careless guards, and hid behind the huge pillars that adorned the large hall where the Prince usually was.

However, Requiem felt something strange. He felt the presence of someone else in that place. He saw Alec had already prepared his sword, but Requiem shook his head and pointed upwards. Alec followed his gaze and saw a man hanging above them. The man appears to have died.

"Nobody can stand in our way" Alec said.

Requiem shook his head. "Something's not right here."

"We have to keep moving forward" cried Alec.

Requiem continued to feel something strange and pulled out his sword. Suddenly, the man hanging above them came back to life and pounced towards them. Requiem and Alec managed to dodge the attack and fought against the man.

"Damn it! This is not part of our plan" Alec exclaimed.

"Maybe this is what they call a surprise" Requiem said.

They managed to kill the man, but Requiem felt a growing unease. There's something bigger than just the usual killing going on here. They moved towards the prince's room which was guarded by several guards.

Requiem and Alec managed to kill the guard easily. They heard the Prince talking inside the room.

"You have to find the cure" the prince told an unknown person.

"Sure, Your Highness," replied someone.

Requiem peeked out from behind the door. There was a woman standing before the Prince. He was dressed in black and covered in a long robe. His face was covered with a black mask.

"The woman" Requiem whispered to Alec.

"Who is he?" ask Alec.

"We have to look for it" Requiem replied.

They entered the room quickly and killed all the guards who were there. The prince was shocked and shouted for help. Requiem threatened the Prince with his sword.

"That's enough" Requiem said. "You have to answer my question honestly."

The prince was silent and looked down.

"Who is that woman?" ask Requiem.

The prince did not answer. Requiem snapped his sword on the table.

"Don't try to avoid my question" Requiem said.

The prince sighed and finally replied, "Alright, I'll tell you everything. I was actually the son of the previous king, but he was removed from the throne by his own brother. My mother and I had to run away and hide for years, but we finally made it back and took the throne from my brother."

Requiem listened carefully, trying to get in touch with all the information he had obtained. "So your brother, who is he?"

"Prince Aiden," the prince replied in a soft voice. "He was always jealous of my position as crown prince and tried to take the throne from me. But I always managed to beat him, until this time. I don't know what he's up to, but I feel that it's going to be very dangerous."

Requiem nodded, reflecting on everything he had heard. "Well, I'll protect you and help you expose this conspiracy. But you have to promise me that you will be honest and keep giving me information."

The prince nodded, "I promise, I won't hide anything else from you."

Then they continue their journey to a nearby town, where they meet a secret agent working for the prince. The agent gives information about Aiden's plans to seize the throne and kill his brother.

Requiem and his new allies soon set out a plan to stop Aiden and reveal this conspiracy. They plan a small attack on where Aiden is, which Requiem himself oversees.

The moment they arrived at that place, they were greeted by a group of knights led by Aiden himself. Requiem led the attack, using his combat ability and ingenuity to defeat his opponents one by one.

But Aiden himself turns out to be tougher than they think, and he manages to escape into a secret room underground. Requiem and his new allies chased him, and when they reached the room, they were shocked by what they saw.

In front of them was an ancient altar, with a black stone in the middle. Aiden stood near the altar, with a blank look and a weapon in his hand.

"What are you doing?" asked the prince in a worried tone.

Aiden just smiled cruelly. "I am doing my best for this kingdom" he said. Then he pressed a button on the altar, and suddenly a large hole opened on the floor.

Requiem and his new allies were shocked and nearly fell into the hole, but they managed to hold themselves back in time. Aiden laughed happily, then jumped the hole agilely, followed by Requiem and the others. They found themselves in a room hidden underground.

"This place was the former prince's secret headquarters before he ascended the throne," Aiden said as he scanned the surroundings. "I know this place because it was once a secret agent here."

Requiem and the others nodded following Aiden who led them into another hidden room. There, they found a large table decorated with many documents and books neatly arranged. The prince opened one of the books and began to read its contents.

"This is the prince's diary" the prince said as he read the book carefully. "He wrote about the conspiracy and betrayal that took place inside the palace. There are several names mentioned here, including the names of some members of the royal family."

"What should we do with this book?" ask Requiem.

"First of all, we must find further evidence of its truth" the prince said. "Then, we will expose this conspiracy to the public and provide justice for those who are persecuted."

Requiem nodded, delighted that he had finally found the necessary evidence to uncover the conspiracy at the palace. He was relieved that his duty to kill the prince had made him discover the true truth. His task, originally to kill someone, is now a mission to uncover the truth and provide justice for those who need it.

Their journey to the royal palace. They move quickly, constantly being alert to any possible threats. However, their journey was not smooth. Several times they were almost caught by the royal army, and on one occasion they were almost caught in a trap left by the enemy.

However, they managed to overcome all obstacles and finally arrived before the palace gate. Requiem and Aiden cover themselves with coats and masks to hide their identities, while Liana enters the palace as a guest of a neighboring kingdom.

After successfully passing through the guards and the palace security, Requiem and Aiden continued their journey towards the prince's room. However, they were shocked when they saw the prince was talking to a beautiful woman who seemed to be a spy from a neighboring kingdom.

Requiem and Aiden felt suspicious, but they did not have time to check the identity of the woman. They must immediately bring the prince to safety before the enemy learns of his whereabouts.

They managed to bring the prince out of the palace undetected, but while they were on the run, they were attacked by the royal army led by the prince.

Requiem, Aiden, and Liana fought tenaciously against the royal army, but they were desperate and nearly defeated. However, as the situation had gotten worse, a mysterious figure appeared who had come to their aid.

The figure was a knight with great magical power, and he helped Requiem, Aiden, and Liana to fight against the royal army. In a fierce battle, they managed to defeat the enemy and free the prince from their grip.

After successfully escaping the enemy's pursuit, Requiem, Aiden, Liana, and the prince headed for a safe place to rest and plan their next move. They realize that the conspiracy hidden behind the prince's actions is bigger and more dangerous than they previously thought.

Requiem and his new allies must quickly uncover the truth and stop the conspiracy before it's too late. However, their time was decreasing and the enemy was getting stronger. Can they successfully accomplish their task and stop the rampant evil in the kingdom?

Aiden was in front of the middle room door. They waited for a while before the door opened and several knights came out, followed by the prince.

"What are you doing here, Requiem?" ask the prince in a loud voice.

"There's something I want to talk to you about" Requiem replied.

The prince nodded briefly and they entered into the middle room. They sat at a large table and Requiem began to explain about the conspiracy going on in the kingdom.

"I've been investigating for some time and found that there's a third party trying to take over your power. They might try to kill you or use you as a tool to achieve their goals" Requiem explained.

The prince paused for a moment, then said, "I know about the conspiracy. And I've taken action to deal with it."

Requiem looked at the prince in surprise, "What do you mean?"

"I've sent secret agents to find out who is behind the conspiracy and they've caught up to him. But, they still need stronger evidence to stop that third party completely," the prince replied.

Requiem pondered for a moment and said, "I'll help you to look for stronger evidence. But, I want to warn you that that third party might not just be silent."

The prince nodded and they jointly planned a strategy to deal with that dangerous third party.

After the meeting was over, Requiem and Aiden returned to their inn. They sat in a small, simple room and Requiem watched Aiden with a sharp look.

"What are you thinking?" ask Requiem.

"I think you're really involved in this matter, even more than you mentioned," Aiden replied.

Requiem paused for a moment, then said, "I've killed someone innocent and it's haunted me for years. I don't want to repeat it again."

"I understand. But, are you ready to face the danger that lies ahead?" ask Aiden.

Requiem nodded, "I'm used to the danger. And I won't let those close to me get hurt."

Aiden smiled, "That's what makes you different from other hit men. You have a heart."

Requiem said nothing, but a small smile appeared on his face. He felt that he had found a true friend in Aiden.

They went back to their room and prepared to sleep, but suddenly the sound of an explosion shook the air.Requiem and Aiden immediately stood up and checked the window. They saw that there was a building burning in the distance.

"What's that?" ask Aiden.

"No idea" replied Requiem. "But it could be an opportunity for us to get out of this city. We can hide among the crowd of people who saved themselves from the fire."

Aiden nodded in agreement, then they immediately walked out of the room and headed towards the direction of the fire. Once there, they joined the crowd and tried to save themselves from the growing flames. Requiem and Aiden try to find an opening to escape the city.

However, as they ran through the deserted road, they were confronted by a group of soldiers from the neighboring kingdom who occupied the city. The soldiers wielded swords and forced Requiem and Aiden to turn themselves in.

"What are you doing here?" ask a soldier.

"We are just trying to save ourselves from the fire" Requiem replied calmly.

"Cannot be. You guys must have another reason to be here."

"What do you want from us?"

"Our prince is missing and we suspect that you are behind his disappearance. We'll take you for questioning."

Requiem and Aiden looked at each other, then they took action. Requiem directly attacked the warrior who held the sword, while Aiden fought the other soldier. A fierce fight ensued in the middle of the deserted road.

After defeating the soldiers, Requiem and Aiden resumed their escape. They tried to find a way out of the city, while continuing to walk and run non-stop. However, they knew that their task was not yet completed. They still have to find a way to stop the conspiracy going on and bring justice to the innocent prince.
