Assassin's Requiem
Volume 3, Chapter 6: Trapping

Requiem pondered back on all the information he had obtained about the prince. All signs indicate that the prince was a bad man and deserved to be killed. However, there were some things that did not make sense and Requiem felt that something was wrong.

His new ally, a young witch named Zara, comes to him with alarming news. "I heard someone was stalking us" Zara said. "I'm sure it's the prince's secret agent."

Requiem looked at Zara and nodded. "It's no surprise that they're trying to keep an eye on our every move."

"They know that we're both trying to figure out the prince's secret" Zara said. "We must be careful not to get caught in their trap."

Requiem nodded and decided to plan his next move carefully. He wanted to know more about the prince before deciding to kill him.

That night, Requiem decides to infiltrate the prince's palace to find out more about the prince's plans. He evaded the guards and slipped into the prince's private room. Inside, he finds a secret letter indicating that the prince has committed a great crime against his people.

Just as Requiem was about to exit the palace, he was caught in a trap that had been prepared by the prince's secret agent. He was surrounded by several knights who had prepared to kill him.

Requiem took out his sword and attempted to fight back, but he was surrounded by too many enemies. He felt desperate and almost gave up, but then Zara appeared and helped him fight the knights.

After escaping, Requiem and Zara return to their base. They decide to work together to stop the prince's evil plans.

They gather more information and discover that the prince plans to use his magical powers to destroy other kingdoms and expand his power.

Requiem and Zara infiltrated the palace and managed to find enough evidence to dismantle the prince's conspiracy. They manage to confront him and force him to confess his crime.

Finally, Requiem and Zara successfully stop the prince's evil plans and free the people from his tyrannical rule. They were rewarded for their merits and finally, Requiem found the true meaning of friendship and courage.

Requiem felt annoyed when he saw the prince. He questioned whether he should kill a weak-looking young man. But, duty is duty. He felt his sword, preparing to unleash his first attack.

However, just as he was about to launch his attack, he saw the prince showing signs of vomiting. He decided to wait. As soon as the prince released his contents on the ground, Requiem took the opportunity to launch his attack.

However, the prince quickly jumped back, dodging the attack. He didn't look like a man who wasn't ready to fight. Requiem again felt annoyed, he did not expect that the prince would be so shrewd in battle.

The two met face to face in close proximity. The prince smiled at him, as if he knew something Requiem did not know.

"It's okay, Requiem. You don't have to kill me. I will surrender myself willingly," said the prince calmly.

Requiem felt something was wrong. He tried to break through the prince's defenses, but he still did not succeed. Every attack he unleashed, was always avoided very easily.

"It's no use, Requiem. I know who you are. I know who sent you here" said the prince, raising his hand with a small wave.

Instantly, Requiem felt as if he was faced with an enemy more formidable than he had ever faced before. He realized that the prince had tremendous power and that his task would be much more difficult than he had imagined.

However, there was something strange in the prince's strength. Requiem could sense that something was wrong. There was a weakness hidden behind his awesome strength. He decided to find out more before he took any action.

"Who sent me here?" ask Requiem in a flat tone.

"That makes you come here is not a good thing. You must have known that yourself," the prince replied with a teasing smile on his face.

Requiem raised his sword again, ready to launch his final attack. However, suddenly the prince fell unconscious before him.

Requiem was shocked and did not know what to do. He had never faced such a situation before. He decided to take the prince to a safer place to ensure that he would not be attacked by anyone.

After the prince came to his senses, The prince sat on the bed, his head dizzy. He recalled the incident in his room, when suddenly something pierced his body. But this time he did not feel the same pain. His eyes glanced around the brightly lit room, looking for signs of life.

"You're sober" the voice surprised him. He held up the blanket that covered his body.

Requiem sat on the chair next to the bed, his gun hanging on his waist. He looked tired and lethargic, something the prince had never seen before.

"How long have I been unconscious?" The prince asked this, trying to recall the last incident.

"Three days?" surprised prince. "Then did you manage to kill me?" He glanced at the Requiem weapon.

"No," Requiem replied as he shook his head. "I didn't kill you."

The prince fell silent, trying to understand the situation that was going on. He knew that Requiem would not compromise on his duties. But why is he still alive?

Requiem continues his story, explaining that there are people who want to kill the prince and recruit him to do so. However, after finding out more, Requiem found evidence that the prince was not the enemy, but the victim.

"You know who did this?" ask the prince, trying to figure out who's behind all this.

"Not yet" Requiem replied. "But I will find out and bring them to justice."

The prince nodded, knowing that he now owed the assassin a debt of gratitude. He decides to team up with Requiem in finding out who wants to kill him and why.

From there, the prince and Requiem began a close relationship. They work together to find evidence and uncover a larger conspiracy hidden behind the murder. In the process, they begin to understand each other and strengthen their friendship.

However, they were not alone in this quest. There are other parties who also want to uncover the conspiracy and they are not afraid to take any action. Requiem and the prince must fight against time and their enemies to bring the truth to the surface before it is too late.

Requiem listened carefully and said, "So, what should we do now? We need to plan something."

The prince nodded, "We must obtain sufficient evidence to prove that my family was not involved in this conspiracy. I believe that there are some important documents and evidence stored inside the palace. But I don't know exactly where it is."

Requiem thought for a moment, "Alright, I'll find out. In the meantime, you should stay here and keep your security. Don't talk to anyone about this."

The prince nodded, "Alright, I'll wait here."

Requiem walked out of the room and began to figure out where the documents and evidence could be kept. He inspected every room in the palace and finally found a locked room. After successfully opening the door, he found enough evidence to prove that the prince's family was innocent.

He returned to the prince's room and gave the evidence to him. The prince was very grateful and said, "Thank you, Requiem. You saved my life and my family."

Requiem nodded, "No need to thank you. This is my job."

The prince said, "But, I want to give something to you as a token of gratitude. What do you want?"

Requiem smiled, "I don't need any gifts. I'm just glad I could help you."

The prince said, "Alright, but at least let me give you some money to pay for your services."

Requiem shook his head, "I've already received payment from my client. No need to worry about that."

The prince smiled, "Alright, I understand. Thank you, Requiem. I'll always remember your help."

Requiem smiled, "Alright. Now I have to go. There's another task waiting."

The prince nodded, "Of course. Goodbye, Requiem."

Requiem came out of the palace with a relieved heart. He was delighted to be able to help the prince and prove his innocence. His job as a hitman is difficult and dangerous, but at least he knows that he has done his best to ensure truth and justice in this world.

Requiem and Celine then head to the robber's headquarters to find more concrete evidence of Adrik's involvement in the conspiracy. They manage to get some important documents linking Adrik to the group of robbers, and discover that Adrik is actually the brains behind the whole conspiracy.

However, when they tried to escape from the marauding base, they were confronted by Adrik and a group of his troops. The fight broke out, and Celine was severely wounded in the battle. Requiem manages to take Celine somewhere safe, and contacts her friends in the kingdom for help.

In the ensuing battle, Requiem and the royal knights successfully defeated Adrik's forces and captured him. Adrik was faced with the fact that he had failed in his conspiracy, and he was put to death for his actions that caused chaos and suffering in the kingdom.

After all the conflicts ended, Requiem and Celine parted ways in the hope that they would meet again in the future. Requiem decides to continue his life as a hitman, but this time he will choose a better task and will only work for justice and truth. She feels that she has found the true meaning of sacrifice and friendship, and promises to use her skills to help people who really need help.
