Emily, The Mute Girl

Emily, The Mute Girl
Back to Mansion

Seeing Jeremy just speechless, Emily then got up from her seat.

'Let's continue our journey, or we'll spend the night in this forest.' he signaled.

Jeremy was still in his place staring at Emily who was wagging the grass on her clothes. She thought, It's good that Emily forgot about her childhood. That means Emily doesn't hate him because she doesn't remember him. Jeremy feels grateful that his plan to kill Emily at Villa time didn't work out or that he will regret it for the rest of his life.

Emily turned to look at Jeremy who did not move from his seat.

'Does your foot still hurt? Do you still need time to rest?' cue Emily asked.

Jeremy smiled then shook his head and got up.

"No, I'm fine." she replied.

From now on, everything will be fine. Might as well...

Emily and Jeremy arrive at a nearby village ahead of the Maghrib. Therefore, they decided to stay at one of the inns there. Lucky for them because when they jump into the river, Emily's ring and necklace and the watch Jeremy wears do not drift in the river. So they decided to sell Jeremy's watch made of 24 carat gold in one of the jewelry figures in the village. The watch was sold at a low price because there were no letters and neither was Emily's diamond necklace. The owner of the jewelry store was very happy because he got a good item at a cheap price. Only the ring that Emily wears is not sold because the money they get from the sale of the two objects is enough to pay for a place to spend the night and eat a drink.

The next day, Jeremy bought a sports bike. Jeremy looked satisfiedly at the bike. He felt lucky because he did not expect to find such a good bike in the countryside.

"This is the best bike here. Do you like it?" jeremy asked as Emily approached him.

Hearing asking makes Emily feel surprised because all this time he never asked about Emily's opinion, but now how much he impressed more attention to her. Emily then simply nodded in response.

"We're going home with this" said Jeremy, who made Emily look at Jeremy.

'What? We ride that together? Why don't we just ride the vehicle alone? Do you think Clarissa would like to see us ride the same bike?' cue Emily.

Jeremy looked at Emily with a slight annoyance. She was unhappy because Emily kept thinking about Clarissa's feelings. Does this wife think her and Clarissa's relationship is that deep?

"Can you drive your own motorcycle?" ask Jeremy to be sniffing.

Emily remained silent. Jeremy's words are right. Emily can't ride her own motorcycle.

"After all, I don't have the money to buy two motorcycles" said Jeremy, who made Emily laugh.

How can a Jeremy Charlos not have money? After all, is it cheaper to rent a car than to buy a sports motorcycle? In the car, they can sit quietly and not too close as on the bike. Did having fallen off a cliff the other day make his brain unable to think intelligently? Emily laughed as she shook her head. He did not know that Jeremy had deliberately bought a motorcycle so that he could be closer to Emily.

"Can we go now?" he asked while holding a helmet. Emily nodded then received the helmet and put it on, then climbed onto the bike. Jeremy deliberately drove the bike not too fast so they took longer to get to the city of J.

When they reached the Mansion, the servants were very happy to see them.

"Young Master!! Young Miss!! You're back!" exclaim them with excitement.

Clarissa runs as fast as she can to see Jeremy, and is shocked to see Emily and Jeremy on the same bike as Emily holding Jeremy's shoulder. It made her feel jealous in her heart. He silently clenched his hands in annoyance.

Emily looked at Aunt Liana and Pak Wawan who came to them with worried faces. Especially Aunt Liana whose face was filled with sadness. Emily was touched to see the enthusiasm of the servants welcoming them. Aunt Liana really thought of him as her family. If he had not returned today, surely Aunt Liana's feelings would have been greatly shattered. Emily felt her decision to return to this place was the right one.

"Master and Young Miss.. You two are really scaring you." Aunt Liana said in a trembling voice.

'**J**Don't be sad, Auntie. Look what I brought you.' cue Emily then gave me a bag full of fresh strawberries, there are even some that still have stalks.

Aunt Liana felt astonished and her crying stopped. Where did they get all this? While Jeremy held back his laughter seeing Aunt Liana's astonished face. He smiled and covered his hands with his fists as he recalled where the strawberries had come from. As they passed the road in the village, coincidentally on the edge of the road there was a strawberry growing and Emily without signalling reached out her hand to pluck the strawberry. Jeremy remembers in the past Clea was very fond of strawberries, and it seemed like that had not changed at all. He then stopped the motor and decided to buy the strawberries.

The gardener allowed them to pick the strawberries themselves they wanted. And because Jeremy did not know how to pluck it, he actually picked the fruit along with the stalks, so they were reprimanded by the owner of the garden. But because Jeremy reasoned that it was the desire of his wife who was cravings, they also understood him.

"Jeremy.." call Clarissa.

Jeremy gave him a quick glance then helped Emily because he knew his wife must have felt cramps in his legs because of the long journey. It makes Emily feel bad for Clarissa, but she tries not to care too much because Clarissa never liked it from the beginning, and it seems she will never be able to like it.

"Master, Miss.. You must be so tired. It's best to go in and rest now" Aunt Liana said.

Emily then entered with the help of Aunt Liana. Jeremy wants to help Emily but her hand has been pulled by Clarissa first.

"Jeremy, what happened to you? Why did you disappear for so long and leave me alone at the Villa? I asked your assistant to take me home. You know, I'm so scared." lick Clarissa.

Jeremy rubbed the girl's hair.

"I'll tell you later. Don't worry, I'm fine now. You go in first, there is something I want to talk to Pak Wawan" he said softly.

After Clarissa entered, Jeremy then asked Pak Wawan to enter his study and asked about what happened during his disappearance. Wawan later recounted that Clarissa called the Mansion that day and said that Jeremy and Emily were not at the Villa. He asked if they were back at the Mansion. Clarissa suspects that Emily had deliberately led them there to leave Clarissa alone at the Villa.

Pak Wawan, who knew that Emily could not do this, immediately suspected that there was something about their employer. He calls Lukas, Jeremy's assistant, to find out what happened. Lukas always goes to Villa and picks Clarissa back to the Mansion. However, he did not find anything suspicious at the villa, as the men did not leave any traces.
