Emily, The Mute Girl

Emily, The Mute Girl
It Only Takes One Reason

"Grandma, is Mom seriously ill? He's fine, right?" Jordan asked worriedly.

"Honey, if you're worried, why don't you go visit and see for yourself? Your mother would have felt better if she had met you" Della told Jordan. The little boy was silent, he looked hesitant. He could believe his grandmother's words. Her mother, Clarissa, never even smiled at her, how could her presence possibly make her feel better? Jordan looks at Emily as if asking for her approval, but it makes Della even more unhappy.

"Go meet your mother, Young Master Jordan" said Della firmly giving orders.

"alright. I'll go with Mommy." said Jordan decided.

"No! You're going with your nanny. He's the one who's gonna drive you." Della said she didn't want to be denied. Jordan still didn't budge in his place.

"Listen to your Grandma's words, go away" Ferry said when she saw Emily make the gesture.

"Go away. There's something Grandma wants to talk to him about, so he can't come with you" Della said, rubbing Jordan's head as the boy hesitated. Hearing him, Jordan nodded in understanding.

"All right" she replied, waving her hands to Emily and Ferry before leaving with her nanny.

The strong wind made the bodies of those in the garden cold. However, Emily still remained silent in her place. He looked at Della and waited for what she wanted to tell him. Meanwhile, everything that happens in the park cannot be separated from the observation of one of the servants who assigned Jeremy to always keep an eye on Emily. He secretly sends Jeremy a message, informing him that Della has come to see Emily and Jordan in the park.

A grin appeared on Jeremy's face while reading a short message sent by his confidant. She knew that Della must have told her son to meet Clarissa who had been lying on her bed for days. Everyone says she's sick, but for Jeremy, Clarissa's just trying to get his attention. Jeremy believes Clarissa was just pretending to be sick to have Jeremy go see her. Hah, Jeremy doesn't want to waste his time on useless things. For him, by sending doctors and a number of servants to treat Clarissa, it was more than enough. In fact, Jordan doesn't even have to go there. Therefore, he prohibited everyone from telling the boy about Clarissa's condition. For Jeremy, if his son has free time, then he better use that opportunity to get closer to Emily.

Clarissa was a very jealous woman. He does not trust almost all the female servants, not even hesitate to get rid of them if he feels someone is trying to attract Jeremy. Now Emily is her husband's second wife, and her husband is giving her the attention Clarissa never got during her time as his wife, so she definitely won't stay put. Likewise with Della, Clarissa's Tante will definitely stand by her nephew.

'Let her do what she wants to do to Emily.' reads the message Jeremy sent to his servant. He was intentional, because if they did anything to Emily, it would be both proof and compelling reason to get rid of them.

Jeremy was fed up with Clarissa, but the woman's position as First Lady could not be taken down. So he can only hope they do something to Emily so he can punish them both at once. Jeremy did not go back to work, he turned his body and walked to the park. From a distance, he looked at Della and Emily with excitement. Ferry and the servants who were there were not in his eyes, because to him they were not important at all. However, the air is getting colder as the wind continues to blow strong, making Ferry shiver and he also worried about his adoptive mother.

"Mom, let's go back inside. It's too windy in here." she told Emily, who was still in her place waiting for Della to speak. But it seems like Jordan's grandmother didn't want to say anything or she was just holding herself back from berating Emily in front of the servants. Emily decides to ask Ferry for help in translating her cues because she believes Della must not understand sign language.

"You look so calm after you've cheated so many people, Miss Emily." Emily's steps stopped, and she turned and looked at Della.

"I don't even feel the slightest bit of guilt on your face" Della added.

"What is it to you, it's so nice to see people who love you cry when your coffin containing the bodies of others is lowered into the grave?" continued.

Emily breathed her breath hearing that. He slightly bowed and waved and clenched his hands in front of his chest.

"My mom is sorry." said Ferry. Afterwards, Emily turned around and walked again. Outside too cold, they can't stay too long in the park, Emily doesn't want Ferry to get sick. Emily also did not want to say anything more to Della other than apologize, because Della would definitely not listen to him in such an angry state. So, instead of fighting, Emily decided to leave.

But Della doesn't let Emily go. He rushed forward pulling Emily's hand and gripped her firmly.

"You're just gonna walk away without explaining anything?" tanyanya angry.

"Don't be rude to my mom!" angry that Ferry did not accept Della's rude actions, and kicked her shins. Despite the pain, Della did not budge at all. He actually gave Ferry a sharp look like a magic grandmother that made the boy's guts shrivel. Emily did not want them to fight, so she tried to pull her hand but Della tightened her grip and refused to let go.

Unbeknownst to them, Jeremy's blood boils when he sees Della pulling Emily's hand. How dare that old woman touch his wife! Jeremy was furious but at the moment he could only contain his anger. It just needs one reason. If Della were to injure Emily, she would not only kill her but would also cut off her hand that touched Emily while she was still alive.

However, what Jeremy hoped for was simply not to happen. She thought, for Clarissa's sake, Della would do everything including hurt Emily. Who would have thought, Della suddenly let go of Emily's hand and they started walking inside together. He is too focused on his anger and evil plans to not pay attention to Emily's cue on Della earlier.

"Are you going to trust my mother if I-My mother explains everything to you?" ferry stammered in fear, translating Emily's words.

"I'm going to hear it first, just decide if I can trust you or not" Della said, staring at Emily.

"Then let's talk inside" Ferry said.
