Chaptre 105. Removing your Traces

Leon is still faithfully awaiting the authorities' decision on Esther's status as a suspect in Julian's attempted murder. Esther's psychic condition is being examined by a psychiatric doctor because she muttered indistinctly like a person who lost his sanity.

"How, Doctor?" leon asked when a psychiatric expert from the police came out of the room after examining Esther.

"The conditions are stable and fine. It looks like he deliberately did this to be free from the snare of confinement, "the doctor explained.

Leon nodded in understanding. "Thank you for the evidence. I hope that woman can be punished severely. He has made my Master die" Leon said.

"We leave everything to the authorities. They will surely punish the guilty accordingly. Then excuse me first."

Leon nodded as the doctor passed. He immediately contacted Ben to find out the latest news about Julian's condition.

Meanwhile, in the hospital, Roy is still sitting languidly accompanied by Lian who faithfully calms him. The doctor is still performing surgery on Julian. Judging from his condition if the injury suffered by Julian is quite severe.

Lian sees Kartika coming and is talking to Ben. But then Kartika walked away.

Lian soon followed Kartika's steps.

"Ben, please accompany Mas Roy. I want to see Brother Tika," said Lian.

"Okay, Madam."

Lian sped up to catch up to Kartika. But it turns out Kartika was sitting on a bench long hospital.

Lian approached Kartika and sat next to her. He saw a deep look of sadness from Kartika's face.

"You know, I've liked Julian for a long time. But he never saw me. She ... just thinks of me as her best friend." Kartika told me while looking straight ahead. He did not even look at Lian but he knew that the one sitting next to him was Lian.

"The reason I parted with George is .. because I want to pursue my past love. Weird, right? But George is a good man. We are together because we love each other. And we parted because of love."

Lian listened carefully to all the complaints Kartika.

"I thought this meeting could make a change to our relationship. At first I thought so. But ... I was late again."

"You're not late, brother." Lian spoke up now.

"Sister Julian always had faith that his true love would come to the right person at the right time. I think the time is right now" continued Lian.

"Whatchu mean? From the beginning I saw the closeness of the two of you, I'm sure that Julian doesn't just think of you as his sister-in-law. Her panic while searching for you made me realize that I would not be able to touch her heart."

"You're wrong, brother. Me and Julian are close. I respect him because he is Mas Roy's older brother and also a helper for me and Boy. Now Julian needs a sister. So, stay by his side." Lian held Kartika's hand as she pleaded.

Kartika replied with a smile. "Yes, I'll always be by her side."

Three days later,

"Julian Avicenna's family!" A nurse interrupts the patient's waiting family. During these three days Julian should not be visited by anyone because he is still in intensive space. Even so, both Lian and Roy always come waiting for good news from Julian's condition.

"Yes, Sister. How's my brother doing?" Roy got up and approached the nurse.

"The patient was conscious and has now been moved to the treatment room. Please if the family wants to see him."

Roy smiled happily. He invites Lian, Kartika and Leon to see Julian's condition.

Julian's head was still wrapped in bandages but his physical condition looked fine.

"Sister! I'm so worried about brother! Thank goodness that brother has returned." Roy hugged Julian with tears in his eyes.

"Easy! Don't exaggerate! I'm fine" Julian said, patting Roy on the back.

"Are you sure you're okay?"

"Yes!" Julian looked at Lian.

"Who is he?" point Julian at Lian.

"Eh?" Everyone there was stunned by Julian's question.

"Don't know who I am?" lian asked while pointing at herself.

Julian shook his head. "What are you really? Why are you here? Do I know you?"

Roy asks Lian not to answer again.

"Wife? So you're married?"

"I-iya, Brother. We even have two sons."

"Well! Why don't I know?"

"What happened to Brother? Does your brother remember me?"

"Of course I remember! You're my brother, Roy. Then her? He's Leon, my assistant. And he .. is Kartika. She's mybest friend. Then her? What was his name? The diamonds? Your wife? I don't remember ever knowing her. Did you hide your marriage from me, huh?!"

Everyone was silent, especially Lian. Roy grabs Lian's hand and takes her out of Julian's room. They went to see the doctor who treated Julian.

The doctor explained that Julian experienced partial amnesia. There are some memories that he cannot remember. It's possible that those memories might come back, maybe not. And the family is forbidden to force him to remember what Julian has forgotten.

"If he can't remember me, it means he wants to forget me. I must have made some bad memories for him. Until he doesn't want to remember me anymore" Lian said in a sad tone.

"Don't talk like that. You can remember you again. Believe me!" Roy took Lian in his arms.

Julian has been hospitalized for a week. Now Julian whines asking to get out of his ward. With a heavy heart Kartika accompanied Julian around the hospital using a wheelchair.

"You are so stubborn! Your condition has not recovered properly but already wants to get around" Kartika said as she pushed Julian in her wheelchair.

"Eitherway! I just want to breathe fresh air. This hospital belongs to my family, but somehow I feel like I'm a stranger here. The cold air was very different from usual."

"That's because you're now transformed into a new person" Kartika murmured.

"What did you say just now?"

"No! I didn't say anything."

"Eh, look at that! Isn't that Roy and his wife?" point Julian towards Roy and Lian who are also approaching him.

"Sister? Why did you leave the room? Brother's condition is not stable," Lerai Roy.

"I'm bored, Roy. I just want to breathe fresh air."

Lian just shut up and looked down.

"How are you, sister-in-law?" ask Julian.

"Eh?" Lian nodded and looked at Julian.

"I'm-I'm good, brother."

"I think we are fools. My name is Julian, and you're Diamond. Our last name is the same. Julian, Diamond. Isn't that so funny, Roy?" Julian laughing.

Just this time Roy saw his brother laughing like that. Likewise with Lian who is also happy with Julian's condition now.

"Is that what you brought?" julian asked as he looked at the parcel Lian had brought.

"Ah, this is the food I made myself. Who knows if he likes it." Lian handed Julian the lunchbox.

"I opened it!" Julian opened the lunch box.

"Well! This is my favorite food. How do you know about this?"

Lian just smiled.

"Roy, you have an amazing wife. Don't let you hurt her, okay? Tika, let's go back to the room. I want to eat food made by my sister-in-law."

Kartika says goodbye to Roy and Lian then pushes Julian's wheelchair back into the room.
