Chapters 37. Honesty

Helena walked back and forth unsettled in her room. He still does not understand why everyone defended Roy who wanted to separate from Zara. Hasn't their relationship been going on for years? Why did it end so tragically?

Tragic? Helena probably did. But for Roy, breaking away from Zara is the best way he can do because there is no more love in his heart.

Is it that easy for Roy to forget his memories with Zara? Do men always throw away old things if they find new toys?

Not immediately so. Roy's been investigating Zara and Gerald's disappearance for a year. He finds little evidence that Zara has been hiding Gerald's whereabouts.

Roy can't be with a cruel woman like Zara. Zara used to be the kindest and meekest woman in Roy's eyes. Everything about Zara has made him sober. He loves Zara very much and takes care of her.

But the truth is, Zara doesn't love Roy as much as Roy does. With ease Zara left Roy because he wanted to realize his dream to study abroad. It is not wrong when education is united.

Helena racked her brain to foil Roy's plan. Helena can't let Roy fall into the hands of another woman. Moreover, it must be with the mother of Roy's child who is a woman from ordinary circles.

Dandy went into the room and caught his wife in a rage.

"You better not try to figure out a way to foil Roy's plan. I've agreed to cancel Roy and Zara's engagement" Dandy said.

"Darling, why are you talking like that?"

"Helena, let Roy choose his own way of life. We've had enough of Roy all this time!"

"Roy is our son! Of course we have the right to determine what is good for him!"

"You better not dispute my orders. Or you'll accept the consequences if you find out you're still defending Zara."

Not wanting to continue arguing, Dandy chose to leave his room and head to his study.

After Dandy died, Helena again riled and massaged her temple slowly.

"How's this? If I can't marry Zara to Roy, then Zara will expose all my past crimes. Nah! That can't happen!!!" muttered Helena by gritting her teeth.

Roy thanked Donald for helping him. Donald was also happy because Roy finally did what he wanted to do. Donald realized that his grandson suffered a lot because he had to obey the wishes of his parents. Until he was sick, Roy still tried hard by not telling anything to his father and mother.

"So, when are you going to take the girl to meet Grandpa?"

"Thank you, Cake." Roy hugs Donald before saying goodbye to his apartment.

Roy hummed during the drive home to the apartment. His heart was glad that he could finally do what he wanted.

Tomorrow he'll talk to Zara and then Belinda. Roy can no longer lie to himself. Although he had not fully accepted Belinda in his heart, but the unusual feeling in his heart in fact he could not ignore.

The next morning, Roy meets Zara at his house. Roy doesn't want any commotion going on in the hospital if he talks during office hours.

Zara was very happy when Roy came to see her. He landed a hug for Roy.

For a moment Roy received Zara's embrace, but a second later he brushed Zara's hand away.

"Roy? What's up?" ask Zara wonder.

"Sorry, because I came so early and surprised you. There's something I want to talk to you about." said Roy.

"Hmm? About what?"

"Zara, I apologized earlier because I had to say this. Sorry if what I said disappointed you. But..."

"Enough! Don't continue! If you come here just to say goodbye, then .. I won't accept it!"

"Zara's... Understand!"

"No! You're outrageous, Roy! Did all our togetherness mean nothing to you? How much you've doted on me with a woman whose origins aren't clear! If you're still mad at me because I left you, then you can punish me, Roy! Not with a farewell like this! I'm not willing to cancel our wedding!"

"Sorry, Zara. I talked to my family, and they agreed that our marriage was annulled."

"WHAT?! You're crazy, Roy!"

"I'm really sorry. I've disappointed you with having another woman's child."

Zara closed her eyes.

"Get out!!!"

With a pretty relieved heart, Roy came out of Zara's house. He drove his car back to the hospital.

Belinda works as usual at Jimmy's boutique. Being a model is not really a priority for a Belinda. He still hopes to continue his education and become a prosecutor like his ideals. But it turns out that the message of destiny says something else. He simply followed what was written for him.

"Bels.." said Roy.

"Doctor Roy..."

Belinda remembered how Jimmy had reminded her of her implied feelings.

"You like it, Bella. Although I don't know how far and how deep you keep it in your heart. But I know if you start opening your heart to her."

"However, Jim? But I still have doubts about Doctor Roy's feelings" Belinda said.

"You'll understand it as time goes on. You just need to open yourself up and let the taste grow on its own."

All of Jimmy's words are still vividly remembered in Belinda's memory. He smiled again by letting their eyes stay together.

Roy started to approach and extended his hand. Belinda welcomed the dominant hand to ask for a hug.

Without any doubt, Belinda immediately hugged Roy. Roy also reciprocated Belinda's embrace by getting closer and closer.
