Chaptre 89. Love or Friendship

At eight o'clock in the night, Lian arrived at her house. A very tired feeling hit his body. Today, many things surprised him.

Lian sat down on the edge of her bed and went back to remembering about Kartika's son. Her tiny face reminded Lian of someone's figure.

"But who is it?"

The more thinking about it the more frustrating it becomes. Lian decided to cleanse herself before heading to dreamland.

While drying her hair, Lian recalled what Julian had said earlier.

"Gift?"

Lian took the paper bag on the table. He opened the contents which turned out to be a box.

"What's this?" Lian was surprised to find that it contained a diamond ring.

"What did Julian mean to give me a ring?"

Lian took the ring that she thought was so beautiful.

"It's so pretty, but..."

Lian thought for a moment.

"No. I can't take it. It would be difficult if our relationship was more than this. I'm still married to Mas Roy anyway. I'll give it back tomorrow!" break up Lian then put the ring box on the nightstand.

Lian spread her body and closed her eyes. Not long after, Lian fell asleep and lulled into a beautiful dream.

The next day, Lian woke up and headed straight to the bathroom. Last night he dreamed of something strange. He dreamed that a little boy would come up to him and call him Mama.

"Why are my dreams so strange?" Lian scratched her head.

"Ah, stop. It was just a dream. I better hurry up. I can't be late again today."

About ten minutes Lian came out of the bathroom and saw her mother sitting on the edge of her bed.

"Mother! What are you doing here?"

"Daughter, who gave you a diamond ring this pretty?"

Lian surprised. His mother opened Julian's ring box.

"Mother!" Lian immediately snatched the box from her mother's hand.

"What ... Does Julian give it to you?" lusi asked with a slight tease of Lian.

"Mother! Don't think weird. I'll return it to Julian's sister anyway. I don't deserve it."

"Good, this kid! Why should it be returned? Isn't this a good sign? That means Julian's son is serious with you."

"Mother, I and Brother Julian have nothing to do with it. You better get out of my room. I want to change my clothes." Lian pushed her mother's body out of her room.

"Listen, you should think carefully before returning it!" shouted Lusi from outside Lian's room.

"You're still a noisy morning. What's up?" ask Lono.

"Dad, it looks like our daughter is getting married soon."

"Did? How could? Married to whom?"

"Of course with Julian. Who else is it!"

Lono shook his head. "Don't force it. We leave it all to our daughter."

Lian's ready for her work suit. He came out of the room and sat at the dinner table for breakfast with his father and mother.

"Listen mother! You don't rush to make a decision. Julian's son is a good man."

"Lian's mom! I told you not to force our daughter. Let him decide his own life."

"He's been widowed for five years, what else is he waiting for?"

"Mother! I'll get married if I want to get married! I'd better leave now. I don't want to hear mom's bullshit any more!"

Lian grabbed the bag and walked out of her house.

Lunch time has arrived. Lian invited Julian to lunch together. He had already decided that he would return Julian's gift.

"You eat here often?" julian asked as he spread his gaze around the cafe.

"Not really. But the food here is delicious. Brother must have liked it."

"Hopefully!"

Soon their food arrived. Lian and Julian ate in silence. Lian was looking for a good moment to talk to Julian.

"What's wrong? Looks like there's something you want to say!" Julian knows Lian's weird girly.

Lian smiled a little. "Don't know?"

"of course. Did you forget I was a former FBI agent. I'm very good at reading people."

Lian lowered her head. He can't back off anymore.

"Look, Brother. I want to .. return this," said Lian by presenting a paper bag that was given by Julian yesterday.

Julian looked at Lian.

"Why return it? It's a gift for you."

"I don't think I deserve it."

"You really deserve it, Lian."

"Sister, please! I always thought of my sister as my friend. My pal. So..."

"I knew. You rejected me! Do you still love Roy?"

Lian chose not to answer.

"alright. I won't force." Julian took a glass and gulped down some water inside. His throat feels dry.

"I want my brother to be Patrick again. Being my best friend. Can't you?"

Lian chuckled at Julian's reply.

Lian gets a message from Roy asking her to come to the apartment. Lian was happy to come there. Lian hasn't heard from Roy in two days. The busyness that hit both makes the distance feel far but their hearts remain close.

Lian opened the apartment door. The atmosphere felt quiet. Lian called Roy's name.

"Mas! You where?" Lian's looking for Roy's whereabouts.

"He said he got here. Why isn't there?"

Lian took off her sling bag and she put it on the living room sofa. His feet moved forward towards the bedroom.

"Don't he's in the room."

Lian opened the room door. And so surprised he was when Roy immediately pulled his hand and attached his body to the wall.

"Mas! You're shocking me!"

Without answering Roy immediately showered Lian with a sweet kiss on the lips. Sip it slowly and pick it up with a regular rhythm.

Although not ready, but Lian was able to keep up with Roy's game. As things get hotter and demanding more, Roy instantly slips Lian's body over the bed.

"Mas!" Lian pushed Roy's chest.

"Why? Don't you want it too?" Goda Roy's.

"Ish, you are! I'm coming by the moon."

Roy cringing. "really?"

"Where could I lie!"

Roy gave up, then he walked out of the room. Lian followed.

"Mas!" Lian hugged Roy from behind.

"I love you. Don't be mad!" persuade Lian.

"I'm not angry. I'm just jealous." replied Roy softly.

"Jealous?" Lian took off her embrace and walked to face Roy.

"Who's jealous?"

"Who else? You had lunch with my brother."

Lian laughing. "So you saw it?"

"I was there too. You're returning something to Julian's sister. What'sthat?"

"I returned the gift he gave me. I don't think I deserve it. After all, we're better suited to be best friends."

"Then?"

"Nothing else. Just like that." Lian hugged Roy.

"I want you guys to come back like you used to. Aren't you very close to your sister?" said it.

"Yes, I miss my old brother Julian too."

"You're right, Mas. I miss the old Patrick, too. Warm and attentive man. My pal. Yes, he will remain my best friend at all times."

Roy and Lian sat on the sofa. Tell each other while eating the snacks that Lian bought. Roy is focused on watching television.

"Yes..."

"Hmm?"

"Do you know Kartika the owner of Kartika Boutique?"

I don't know why Lian wanted to ask Roy about Kartika.

"Kartika Wijaya you mean?"

"I don't know his full name but he's the owner of Kartika Boutique."

"I only know his name. Why?"

"A few days ago we met. Due to a minor incident, our phones were switched. And on the screen of his phone, I saw a picture of a little boy. That kid is so adorable."

Roy frowned.

"If Rain had been alive, he would have been as big as Kak Kartika's son."

"Darling... Can't you forget about Rain?"

"Where does a mother forget her child?"

Roy brought Lian in his arms.

"So you want to have another baby?" asked Roy teasingly.

"Ish, Mum!"

"We can make it right away if you really want a baby!"

Lian pinched Roy's waist.

"Aw! Aw! Sick, baby!"

Lian laughing. "Nobody can replace Rain, Mas. He will remain in my heart."

Roy felt sorry to see Lian's sadness. He clenched his wife's body which began to shake.
