Legend of the Dragon God

Legend of the Dragon God
Ch. 84 – A Desert Village.

“Where is this? desert?” Liu Chang narrowed his eyes to look around him.

After successfully exiting that dimensional door, Liu Chang and the others were quite surprised that they were thrown very far away. Even this arid place they do not know which country to enter.

“I have experienced two throws due to dimensional doors like this ..” Liu Chang muttered softly.

Liu Chang touched the ground beneath him which was like sand. It's a little hot and full of animal bones. Now that he was sure this place was indeed a desert, there was no sign of an illusory science present here.

“Where are we going next? Aqua is not strong enough to stand under the blazing like this.” Aqua wiped her forehead which continued to sweat. He asked Liu Chang to leave this desert immediately.

Liu Chang shook his head slowly, he said to get out of the desert like this should have a map and a clue. If not, then the condition would be similar to a labyrinth.

But seeing Aqua's condition, which seemed to be getting weaker, Liu Chang finally decided to travel instead of just sitting without a roof under the heat like this.

“Salazar can you use the science of lightening the body?” Liu Chang glanced at Salazar who was cross-legged on the rock.

Salazar nodded slowly, “Sure, have you determined where we are going? if not, we find a cave to shelter first. Since I did not find a large qi density here, look at your sister's condition!”

Salazar pointed at Chiriyu not far from his place, as Chiriyu knelt weakly.

“Chiriyu, don't stay away from me! Desert climates are very dangerous. Even a storm here can bury you into the sand.” Liu Chang immediately regained his senses from his daydream, he found Chiriyu very far away from his current place.

Even though Liu Chang's voice was clear, Chiriyu ignored him. Actually, he had not been kneeling in limp, but he was looking at an animal's footprints. The nature of Chiriyu is exactly like the nature of children in general who are not concerned with the condition.

“Shortly, Sister. Look at these footprints! An animal just passed this path.” Chiriyu pointed at the other traces to show it to Liu Chang.

Liu Chang soon realized that he had not been paying attention to the surrounding conditions well. Until a trail of a useful animal to show the way was missed by his sight.

Seeing a hint Liu Chang felt it was time to walk back, looking for a village or city.

“Salazar, you take Aqua with you! I'll bring Chiriyu.” Liu Chang shouted towards Salazar.

Liu Chang immediately took Chiriyu flying into the sky to find other footprints, and hoped to find an oasis from the journey of this animal.

“Let's go, Miss Aqua. We must immediately find a spring or a village to survive.”

Salazar carried Aqua in his arms, he immediately darted following Liu Chang who was flying while he was using the science of lightening his body.

“The flight was fast. Miss Aqua hold on tighter, we will follow Liu Chang faster!” Salazar cursed loudly at Liu Chang's flying speed.

While Salazar was still trying to keep up with his flying speed, Liu Chang above the sky asked Chiriyu to pay more attention to the surroundings more clearly.

“Fly slower, Brother! I saw a piling in the direction of 2 o'clock, it looks like it's a village.” Chiriyu pointed in one direction.

°°°°

Beigan, a country on the Jade Plain Continent that has a unique region and climate. When viewed from the map, the area near the sea has a blue color code, which indicates that the area is covered by ice.

While directly adjacent to other countries or empires, it has a golden brown color code on the map. Indicates that the area is covered by a lump of sand, or commonly called a desert.

Most Beigans choose to live in ice-covered areas, because few people have the ability to live in harsh desert climates. Whether it's about finding food or because the sun is shining all day.

Hundreds of kilometers from the center of Beigan State in the icy region, there is a desert village famous as a stopover for traders from various tribal tribes. Many desert tribes will stop in this village to just rest or sell and buy some goods.

But it happened about two years ago, now the condition of the once so crowded village is just a collection of poor houses with a little buffer wood has been destroyed eaten by desert termites.

“Are we going to taste that meat called food again, Mom?” said a child aged about 7 years old to his mother, his body looks just like a bone wrapped in skin.

“Maybe, Son. Be patient your father and some friends are hunting in the river near here, may he get a lot of fish.” Her mother simply replied soberly, she just wished her husband had really brought a lot of fish as he said.

Hearing his mother's words, the little boy smiled faintly. While she does not know that her parents are desperately thinking about how to survive in the harsh desert climate.

Indeed, food is something that is most sought after in desert areas in addition to the more mainstream water. Even the meat they often ate back then, right now was just a name they remembered, without knowing when they would eat it again.

Once they thought about moving to the cold Beigan territory but on the way, their supplies ran out. Because some of the people in the entourage, took the supplies away while everyone was asleep.

After experiencing the unfortunate incident, they returned to the village again to gather supplies in order to travel for the second time.

In the end after two years of trying to gather costs and supplies, that amount was just enough for the cost of their daily meals. Even sometimes the amount of supplies must be divided to meet their eating needs.

Several times they sent letters to the Beigan State government asking for food or just clothes and clean water.

But some of the people they sent never returned to the village, either it was because they had earned a better life or it could have shown the lowly care of the Beigan State government to help their own Beigan brothers.

“Honey, how's your catch?” A woman who was the mother of a small child welcomed her husband who had just returned home after several hours of fishing.

“The river has dried up, we desperately searched the entire desert to find animals to hunt but not a single animal was seen,” her husband replied listlessly. He along with several other men immediately entered the village to rest.

The situation in the village looks worse than this morning, their children are crying because the stomach has not been filled since two days ago. The men who had just returned home could only bow their heads down, feeling that how useless this man like them was.

“What might I have to bring everyone in the village to move recklessly ..”
