Three days later....
Please, dress up for me and wear this dress. I'm waiting for you at the rooftop at 7 p.m.
Oh my God, I was shaking with astonishment. James gave me a wedding dress? Is it that hard to make a man understand loyalty? But all right, James. Just for tonight. I've been waiting for you, and you promised to tell me everything, so I'll listen. I want to know everything. And after this, if you keep pushing, I'd rather die than take someone else's rights and property. It won't.
At seven in the evening, I was already dressed up and wearing the dress that James gave me. The white wedding dress that made me like a bride for last night.
Geck! Geck!
"Mistress, Mr. James is waiting."
As gracefully as possible, I walked out of the room and met James at the rooftop. There, she was waiting for me in a white tuxedo like a groom waiting for his bride. The place was beautifully decorated, with white curtains surrounding us, a set of tables for a romantic dinner with sumptuous dishes, and decorative lights following beautiful flowers adorn every corner of the place so as to add a romantic impression that night.
No, James. As beautiful as any surprise you've prepared, this is all above treason. This will not mean, it will only add pain to all parties.
"Thank you for fulfilling my request."
I'm nodding. "For the first and the last. I won't be able to give you anything but my time tonight."
"meaning?"
"Just give you a sense of what it looks like."
"Okay, okay. Don't talk about anything. Just focus on tonight."
"Yes, like your promise that will tell you everything, I'm waiting for it."
James nodded slowly. "I'll keep it. Now have dinner with me. You're willing, right? Please...?"
James reached out, and, though reluctant, I welcomed him. We sat down at the dinner table and ate dinner together. I honestly didn't really understand what James was behind his romantic treatment that night, but one thing I thought about, he was trying to persuade me to keep our marriage: it was impossible for me to do.
"I hope you don't misunderstand me" I said as I stared at the focus of my plate and toyed with the fork. "I fulfilled this request of yours just for our last moment together. Don't expect me to be willing to defend our marriage. It never will. I will not take you from your wife and children. I'm willing to die for it, so you can get back to them."
James nodded. "If I choose to divorce for you...?"
"You're free to choose, James. But I won't be ready. I told you I'd rather die. You divorce her, then you'll get my body. Not me, not my love."
Silent. Both me and James, we were both struggling with our own thoughts and their own meals. I was so in control of myself that night, I couldn't put my emotions forward because of my purpose that night to find out information. As far as I can, I will not create chaos and commotion.
"You know, I think I'm in the same position as you right now. Like I'm asking you to, I'm sorry, I mean expecting you to be loyal to your family, I put my loyalty first to the man who loves me. I did marry you, but you know very well that I can't put you in my heart. In your life, also in my life, love does not have to have. And having each other doesn't have to be with love, does it? Happy or not that is not my main goal, but maintaining loyalty, that is the main thing. Which I maintain. I'm sorry that this candor of mine hurt your heart. But I don't want to give you any more hope. Please understand?"
Again. James nodded. "Surely this conversation is too painful," he said. "I understand and I understand everything. But, please, I beg you, let's not talk about this now, is that enough, please?"
"Well, only if you don't think of my words as nonsense. Your divorce is a dagger that will take my life. Understood?"
There was no answer, only a small nod as if the man had truly understood my words.
"OKAY. But I have one question, but I remember." James looked at me seriously. "On your plan to kill me."
The deg!
"When did you plan it?"
Nah!
James was surprised, I stuck a fork in the table, right in front of him, next to his plate.
"But unfortunately I was too cowardly to take your life, and unfortunately, I also always failed to kill myself."
James just shook his head at my behavior, while I laughed at his surprise.
"Thank God that you have a wife and children, so I'm not up to the heart to take your life."
He did not reply, only nodded, then he pushed a spoonful of food in front of my mouth.
"Don't be a romantic snob, Mr. James."
"Eat, please?"
"I will not fall."
"This is not an inducement, dear. I just want to ask you to be nice. Make tonight a beautiful night for me. I beg?"
I have to admit, if he really loves me and not just plays, his attitude is very sweet. Despite all his evil actions, it was fortunate for a girl who earned the love of a James Harding. I don't know why Rose Emerson betrayed her for Bang Jack. But I'm sure Bang Jack doesn't know about Rose Emerson's betrayal of James involving him.
"Let me love you even if my race is unrequited. Please, let me enjoy the moment with you tonight."
Hmm. there is no point in maintaining the ego. I opened my mouth and took a bribe from James. Not once, she bribed me several times even until we both felt full. He didn't want to continue the conversation until we had finished dinner.
"Well, we're done eating. So then?"
"Patience, dear."
"I told you I wouldn't get crushed."
"I told you to let me enjoy tonight with you."
Argha!
"Whatever!"
James smiled - a happy smile I had never seen before. A smile -- that made me believe she wasn't playing with her feelings for me.
"You know, I want you to be able to feel my feelings."
"Free, James. Even if I can feel it, even if I believe, my decision will never change."
"Yes." Yeah." He's nodding. "I know you're a different girl. You are not glared at treasures. You don't dream of anything I have."
"Yes. So stop trying. Cease hoping. You are not mine, and I will never take you away from anyone else. We'll never be together. Not in life now."
He stood up, came up to me and extended a hand. "At least for tonight. Just tonight, be nice, don't spoil our moment together tonight, please?"
