Itsuki is seen entering an empty field. He continued to hold his sword by his side as he felt that it would be better to get used to it. He then put on some of the burdens he took on the way here as he began his training regime. Immediately, Itsuki could feel the difference from having no load at all to having about 10 kg strapped to each arm. He could also feel his reiats being depleted at a speed that was even faster than before.
When he started practicing the basics of Hiten mitsurugi-ryu, he could feel the difference because his position was less than perfect than before. Although he could not practice the core techniques of the sword style, he could still practice the basic techniques that helped improve his physical abilities. Also, practicing with a sword is different from practicing with a stick. Her weight feels different than usual and Itsuki must constantly change her stance in order for her to find one that is comfortable for her.
As soon as he finished his training regime, he sat down and placed his sword on his lap. He tried to connect to his inner world but, in the end, failed to do so. Coming out of his session, he began to feel a faint connection with him and the sword as the sword began to show signs of change. He saw that a mixture of white and pitch-black appeared on the hilt of his sword. Feeling she was making some improvements, she returned to the dorm in a joyous mood.
Entering his room, he realizes that Gin has already gone to sleep and puts his zanpakuto on the side. The blade appeared shorter than usual with a hint of white and silver appearing on the handle.
On the table was a piece of paper describing Itsuki's schedule. Looking at Gin's schedule it seems they will have all their classes together. After looking at the schedule carefully, Itsuki came out of her school uniform, put on her pajamas, lay down and started her daily meditation while hugging her sword. Not until midnight did he fall asleep.
the next morning -
Itsuki awakens to the sunlight that shines through his eyes and sees that Gin has just woken up by himself. After getting up and taking a bath, Itsuki put on her uniform, put the zanpakuto on her waist and went to the cafeteria for breakfast.
The first class was Hoho and was in the same training hall as the same teacher from yesterday. He starts to show Hoho simple movements and lets the class mimic his movements while correcting their mistakes. The class only has about 25 people and, unfortunately, Rangiku and Yuroe are not with them.
Itsuki finds the training easy and completes the first move without any mistakes that earned him praise from the teacher. He was then taken aside and an assistant teacher came in with a training sword in hand and Itsuki was given one goal, dodging the incoming attack without retaliating.
Then starting the beating session, at first he was hit left and right, but he started to show signs of improvement immediately. Itsuki started to dodge randomly, then systematically in the fastest and most efficient way possible. When Gin joins them, he sees Itsuki dodging in a way never seen before.
The assistant teacher, seeing Itsuki still dodging no matter how fast he swung his sword, told the master teacher, who then left the group still learning the basic moves first. He comes to Itsuki and starts to show him ways to increase his speed and run faster using less energy. He shows how to breathe to reduce energy consumption and then leaves Itsuki to his own device.
Seeing Itsuki in front of them, Gin clenched his hands and vowed to become stronger. Hearing the teacher call out to him, he got up to thrash.
In the end, only Itsuki and Gin completed the first task knowing the basic movements of Hoho.
What happens next is lunch, Itsuki and Gin walk to the cafeteria and see Rangiku already there with Yuroe. The group of four reunited, they proceeded to get their food and sat in the corner. Many girls were eyeing Itsuki as she took down her mask to eat, only to hear a loud noise on the side that instantly caught their attention.
'Quick'
That was all that came into the girl's head. Declaring to themselves that they would see his face sooner or later, they went back to eating their food. After long, grueling rants from Rangiku with the academy being too harsh, Itsuki and Gin walked towards their next class, Zanjutsu and Hakuda.
Looking at the sword that changed with the two, he gave the two a agreeing look and went back to wait for the class to arrive. Once everyone arrived, he realized that almost all zanpakutos had a slight change to them. This showed that the students at least had a vague relationship with them.
Gengoro began demonstrating various forms of hand-to-hand combat from things like simple punches, jabs and kicks to things that seemed a little more complicated. He then said that everyone would have their own way of fighting before he told everyone to put their zanpakutos aside and start practicing the basics.
Although Gengoro points out some of Itsuki's mistakes, he realizes that Itsuki won't make the same mistake twice and is ahead of his peers.
After that, Gengoro then told them to take out the training sword. Once he demonstrated the basic sword moves, he went on to assess how the class was doing. His attention was immediately drawn to Itsuki once again as he finished the set perfectly. His posture was right and the strength he gave his swing was right.
"Itsuki, stay behind"
After the class ended Gengoro called Itsuki,
"Yes, sensei"
Gengoro did not reply and only gave him a training sword as he entered into the chudan position with his training sword in front of him. Itsuki immediately understood his intentions and went ahead of him and also took the same stance. Shut up as the two opponents stared at each other. The silence suddenly broke as Gengoro shouted
"Groan!"
As soon as the signal was given, Itsuki rushed forward.
