"Sorry captain Unohana, just need reassurance"
Itsuki then tells her to sit on the other side of Hisana and prepares her medical kido. Byakuya seems suspicious of this arrangement but still decides to trust Itsuki.
What Itsuki did next, shocked the living sunlight from them. They never expected him to do something like this, no matter how many different ways they thought he would help her.
Activating his eyes, Itsuki unsheathed his sword and stabbed Hisana's chest right in the middle, though not completely. Only the tip came in and was pulled quickly, still Byakuya was surprised.
"YOUTO!!!"
Byakuya instantly clenched his fists towards Itsuki upon seeing this. He cannot think properly; the love of his life is stabbed right in front of him by his best friend. Itsuki dodged the attack and jumped back.
"Byakuya(-Sama), wait"
Two voices interrupted him as he looked back, Hisana was fine and no blood was coming out of her. You could tell he was shocked because someone had just stabbed him in front of his eyes. What was even more surprising was that he felt nothing.
"He's getting better, his disease's gone, it's dying"
Hisana did have a better expression on her face. Looking towards her husband, a joyful smile appeared on her face. He will no longer be a burden to her.
Byakuya also had a rare smile on his face when he saw his wife. He also felt sorry for his friend that he hesitated for a moment there. Turning around, he was about to apologize when a fist flew towards him.
Itsuki's fist hit his nose, making him fly towards the courtyard outside. Hisana and Unohana are shocked at first but then start giggling. Looking back at Itsuki, they realized that he had already left.
Unohana then also left and left the couple alone. Recalling the attack, he couldn't wait to compete with her again.
Returning to his division, Itsuki saw Soi Fon barking orders one by one.
A red gush immediately appeared on his face as he leaped out like a cat when his tail was stepped on.
"W-what do you think you're doing?"
A teasing grin was plastered on Itsuki's face. This upset Soi Fon as she tried to kick but failed when Soi Fon appeared behind her and rubbed her head.
This time he did not react as he melted with that touch. Realizing that she relented, she immediately jumped back into her seat and turned her attention with the documents even though she glanced at Itsuki a few times.
Soi Fon felt inferior when comparing herself to Rangiku. No matter if it was her appearance, figure or feminine charm she felt she was losing. He also knew that Rangiku had been with Itsuki even before they joined the academy. Thinking about all these aspects, putting him in a very unfavorable position.
However, he did not give up and this was noticed by Rangiku. Realizing his feelings, Rangiku had faced Soi Fon and they were out for a day. This was the day that Itsuki was in the library, so he never knew that this meeting had taken place. It was only until later where they would often meet before and after their female association meeting that Itsuki knew. Still, whatever was stated in the confrontation, Itsuki had no idea what it contained.
Walking out, he looked at the 2nd Division headquarters and saw many people training. Everything was the same, but the intensity of the training and the general atmosphere were far from it. A solemn and tight atmosphere surrounded the place that was getting heavier with the presence of Itsuki.
Every week, Onmitsukido is required for field training and is released to the periphery to fight against the pit, only with a sword. The requirements for Shunpo also increased as he got his training idea since he trained but it was only lighter. The stone is thrown at the subordinates instead of the weapons Yamamoto did to him.
A few weeks passed with Itsuki, with Hisana's health getting better and better, and Byakuya having endless gratitude in her eyes including a hint of resentment. Recalling the sword attack that Itsuki had carried out, he realized that Itsuki had restrained himself in their spar.
During one of their debates, Byakuya questioned
"Since when?"
Itsuki looked at it with a puzzled look, question marks appearing around him as he looked back at Byakuya,
Gritting his teeth, he finally took it out, and,
"Since when have you held back?"
A look of understanding flashed across Itsuki's eyes as he replied,
"From the beginning"
This surprised Byakuya because he never expected that answer. Itsuki realizes that he has hurt Byakuya's self-esteem while continuing,
"But don't worry, you've made me use more of my power since then"
This even made him more depressed
"Let's compete at your full strength this time"
Itsuki only nodded as he took a position with Byakuya following.
The sun sank on the horizon, extending two shadows. A gentle breeze blew as the leaf broke from a nearby tree. With the leaves getting inching to the ground, Byakuya tightened his grip on his sword.
Time slowed down because he could hear his own heartbeat. He never won against Itsuki even when he held back so he did not have much hope of winning, he just wanted to know the true strength of what he called his rival.
The leaf had just touched the ground when Itsuki disappeared from his sight. His instincts screamed at him; warning bells rang within him. Barely moving his sword into a defensive position, an overwhelming force impacted his sword.
Pushed a few steps back, his instincts began to shout again, but this time from another direction. Moving his sword to a different position, he blocked his sword.
A few clashes later, Byakuya saw the opportunity and swung his sword forward. However, that was not what he expected, Itsuki's sword was a few centimeters away from his throat thus making him lose.
A few more months passed with no changes to Itsuki's schedule. Other than Hisana joining them as a spectator during her spar with Byakuya, there was no change.
Today, Rangiku has asked Itsuki and the gang to get back together. They held some sort of reunion and Rangiku had invited them to attend the academy.
Rangiku was standing alone outside the academy gate but he was quite eye-catching. She was, no doubt, a beautiful woman and attracted everyone's attention wherever she went, however, her armband was blocking them. Suddenly, a commotion rang out, and he looked in that direction.
A familiar face was there with an unusual smile. Aizen is walking towards the academy, dressed in the captain's outfit with Gin following behind, who is now a Lieutenant. He was about to call out to her but was stopped by a hand. Turning around, he saw Itsuki looking at him as he shook his head.
Getting his message, he put down his hand and started walking into the academy. Since everyone's attention was on Aizen, no one saw the two enter.
"It's been a long time, but it feels short"
Itsuki nodded at Rangiku's words as they walked side by side.
"Where are the others?"
Itsuki questioned
"They can't do it"
Itsuki felt suspicious but let it go.
Turning into a corner, Rangiku realized that they were in a relatively quiet training area. No students were seen near this area and various sword marks were seen sporadically strewn about.
Leaning on familiar tree stumps, the two reminisced about their training days. Rangiku leaned against Itsuki's shoulder as if it was natural while his eyes closed gently. Both of them enjoyed this rare calm.
Suddenly, rustling sounded behind them as a girl walked out. He looks very similar to Hisana but is only a younger version of him. He looked like a new student and given the timeline of the event, Rukia should have been in the first year of the academy, just joined.
He seemed to be in his own mind for not paying attention to the two people who were already there. What made him out of this thought was the cry of the beautiful white eagle that landed in front of him.
Surprised, she tripped and fell flat on her back as Seikyo jumped to his knees. He froze because he did not dare to move if it made the bird angry.
Seikyo was curious to see the girl in front of him. It looks the same but has a different smell. A bird and a girl continued to look at each other until Jigokucho interrupted them. The two of them looked in that direction as they flew towards the tree stump.
Only now did he notice the two people in the area. He could not see any of them and only saw a head full of blondes while the others were already awake. What was seen was a white robe with the number two on the back.
This surprised Rukia as only one type of person could do such a thing. Then recalling the kneeling bird, he turned to look at it, only to see it jump from him and onto the person's shoulder.
The man looked over and glanced at him. A cold, pure cold was present in those eyes when he looked back. Rukia froze when she met those eyes and found it hard to breathe.
By the time he gathered his thoughts, the two people were already gone.
Itsuki has been called in for an emergency. They have lost contact with students who went to the real world for training. He became the closest, he received the order first. Upon entering Senkaimon, he walked towards the training area.
Arriving at the location, which entered the view is a fairly modern area. It was 1952 and only six years after the second world war. Japan was slowly recovering from the war and one could tell by the atmosphere.
But in certain locations, the atmosphere is very different. Countless holes killed the students on the left and right with one large hole in the middle.
