Talk to Gin

Gin watched the figure standing outside the hut, waiting for something. As he got closer, he found a familiar face as a gentle breeze hit his face. Ice-cold eyes pierced into him while he felt the atmosphere become colder as he stopped waiting for the other party to speak.

"Where Are You?" Interrogating Itsuki as she tries to understand Gin's thoughts.

"Get out" was the only answer he got, not continuing any further as Gin returned to his usual smiling face.

Upset by his response, a small twitch found its way into Itsuki's mouth as the silent gaze continued.

"We've been worried, especially Rangiku" Itsuki continued,

"Is there something you didn't tell us?" He tries to get Gin to talk but unfortunately fails to do so.

Unknowingly, Itsuki came to see Gin as a brother and best friend explaining his concerns with Rangiku. Although she had a good impression of him before, it was only for characters in anime and manga. The same could be said for Rangiku as he now considered him as someone he needed to protect. He who used to be introverted and does not like crowds, prefers to be alone in a quiet place, making it difficult to make friends. Along with his new mystic eyes, there was a slight fear that he might harm another being.

All of this resulted in him building a subconscious wall around his heart, keeping everyone at a distance. This was shown when he went to do various tasks for some Kan, his cold appearance kept many people from approaching him and those who spoke to him were quickly thrown off by his short response.

However, in just a short month, both Rangiku and Gin had somehow buried themselves behind those walls, safely taking a place in his heart.

Now back to the situation at hand.

Gin finally showed a slight change in his face when Rangiku's name was mentioned as his narrowed eyes slightly opened. Itsuki sighed as she finally got a response from Gin, her gaze slightly softened.

"Can you at least tell me why you came late?"

Itsuki was once again met with silence as Gin slowly opened his eyes and looked into the eyes of his best friend deeply. Although Gin had only known him for a month, he ended up liking this block of ice seeing him as his younger brother similar to how he saw Rangiku as his younger sister.

He saw the worry for himself and some other unexplained emotions, but especially the worry, slowly let out a gentle smile.

This really surprised Itsuki, his eyes slightly widened without any further changes on his face. This was the first time he had seen a sincere smile on Gin as his eyes radiated warmth. He felt like his older brother was telling him not to worry. This only lasted until he saw Gin walking towards the hut. As Gin passed by, he heard her speak, and,

"As long as I can get back what was taken from him"

Itsuki knew that a few days ago he must have met Aizen who received a small energy ball from three Shinigami, putting it into a glass container containing a Hogyoku. The same three Shinigami who left the area where he later found Rangiku collapsed, holding a small energy ball. After concluding that Aizen must be the leader, Gin sets out to kill Aizen and take what was taken.

Itsuki turned around and saw Gin enter the hut and lay down. He immediately did the same, but instead of falling asleep, he started meditating as he felt the impending memory partition breakthrough. Time slowly passed as Itsuki was meditating when suddenly a click sounded and a new set of thoughts gushed out like a tsunami. Taking some time to get used to this, Itsuki finally broke through and reached its fourth partition. There are now a total of 256 thoughts or processes working towards a single goal.

In addition, he realized that he could now speed up his mind by twofold, three times as much as usual. That night he had a rare deep sleep knowing that these peaceful days were coming to an end.

Since then several days have passed and life continues as usual. However, Rangiku grew more worried until he finally could not take it anymore.

Itsuki was practicing Hiten mitsurugi-ryu with some bamboo sticks he found, when he saw Rangiku preparing to leave.

"Where are you going, Rangiku" asked Itsuki as he stopped.

"To find Gin" came a short answer wearing his sandals as he started walking in a general direction where Gin always went.

Knowing she can't stop him, Itsuki quickly dresses up to ward off the cold and quickly follows him. He knew that this must have been when Gin decided to join Shin'o academy.

After a few hours Rangiku and Itsuki find Gin draping the Shinigami shihakuso, with a little blood on his face.

"Gin! What the hell are you doing? Why are you wearing that?" Ask the surprised Rangiku. 

Itsuki simply stayed in the background and watched the scene play out. None of them thought this was strange because he never talked much, only spoke when he needed to do or wanted to know something. Besides that he was just silent and only gave short but dense words.

With his back facing Rangiku, Gin said

"I'm going to be a Shinigami"

Stunned by his reply, Rangiku's eyes widened,

"I'm going to be a Shinigami and change everything"

A small gasp escaped from Rangiku's mouth, as Gin continued

"For you no longer need to cry, Rangiku" said the young man as if to promise himself.
