The Kuchiki Manor is a typical manor house with various rooms and courtyards. It was surrounded by the same walls found in all of Seireitei but with Kuchiki's badge at the entrance.
Entering the Kuchiki manor, they are guided by the servants to the main hall where they find two men. One was a relatively old man wearing a standard captain's uniform with a sleeveless haori.
He has gray eyes, long gray hair and a gray mustache. He wore an expensive white scarf around his neck. Looking at the scarf reminded her of Kuchiki Byakuya's scarf.
This shawl is a family heirloom that is passed down by generations and given to each clan head. Apparently, it was made from the silk of the White Silver Wild Flower and was made personally by Tsujishiro Kuroemon III. He also wore a fingerless black tekko that covered the back of his hand and looped around to attach to the base of his fingers.
Next to him was a man who was similar to Kuchiki Byakuya but different. He wore a standard Shinigami uniform but with a band declaring 'lieutenant' on his left arm.
He was of average height, had shoulder-length black hair and bluish-purple eyes. His bangs were pushed to the side while his hair was neatly combed. He wore a single dagger on the left side of his face that signified his nobility as a member of the Kuchiki clan.
The two stood there as the two men came towards Yoruichi.
"It's been a long time Yoruichi"
"Indeed, Ginrei and looks as good as ever, Sojun"
The old man was the current head of the Kuchiki household and the captain of the 6th division, Kuchiki Ginrei. The man next to him is his son, the vice-captain of the 6th division and the father of Kuchiki Byakuya, Kuchiki Sojun.
Kuchiki Sojun is a talented fighter but also a good individual. He was supposed to replace Ginrei but was eventually killed in action.
The three mince words while Itsuki remains silent. Ginrei looked at him from time to time before a light of approval flashed in his eyes.
"It seems, Genryusai-dono has chosen another talented individual"
Yoruichi is arrogant when his subordinates are praised. It is said that Ginrei has a great eye for individual skills or potential and what they must do to reach their full potential. This was part of the reason why he brought Itsuki here.
Turning to Itsuki, Ginrei stated,
"All you need is experience in battle, that's the least you have for your full potential, I can't see the end."
That was all he said before turning to Yoruichi. He only says something when he sees the incredible potential in Itsuki and that Yoruichi has brought him along.
Being a shrewd old fox, it was natural that he could see Yoruichi's intentions and it wouldn't hurt him even if he said something. Plus, he could somehow get a guarantee for future trouble.
"It looks like you're not here to see me"
"No, where's Byakuya"
"He's training in the back"
Ginrei leaves the hall with Yoruichi and Itsuki following. Walking through the corridor, Sojun bailed because he had to return to the 6th division barracks for some work.
Walking for a while, they found themselves in front of a young boy who was training with a wooden sword. It was in a relatively small courtyard surrounded by three small trees. The boy wore a white shihakuso like an academy uniform but with green trousers and no logo. His sleeves had been strapped to his body to prevent him from blocking his path while training.
The boy was engrossed in his training, so no one bothered him until he finished where Ginrei was walking behind him.
"Practice as usual, Byakuya"
Turning around, Byakuya wiped his sweat while running towards his grandfather.
"Grandfather, you're here. Are you going to stay in the manor or in the barracks tonight?"
Ginrei simply nodded before continuing.
"Byakuya, can you complete the training today, there are guests"
"A visitor?"
Looking behind his grandfather, the only person he saw was Itsuki. A puzzled expression covered his face as he tried to recall who he was before failing to do so.
Just as he was about to ask his grandfather, his hair tied in a ponytail fell on his shoulders. Realizing who the guest was, he swung his sword back while shouting,
"It's you again, you're the cat"
While letting out his trademark laugh, he easily dodged the attack as he replied
"Even though I've said it before, I'll say it again. Greeting someone as a cat just like that is not very good, Byakuya-boy. I even brought one of my subordinates to play with you"
"Shut up! When did I ask you to come and play? And aside from being the future head of the Kuchiki clan, I don't need to play. How many times do I have to tell you that?"
Itsuki at the side just watched the two of them quarrel with each other. Looking at Byakuya now, Itsuki tried to compare the future with the one in front of him.
'How does this become that'
While thinking like this, Yoruichi continued to tease Byakuya.
This caused a twitch in Byakuya's eyes as he chased after her.
Failing to catch him, Byakuya never gives up while Yoruichi gets bored. It seemed like he could finally do his main task.
"Byakuya-boy, I'm going to get your hair back..."
"Were-cat, you're finally conscious."
"...if you defeat my subordinates with the sword then I will return them, I will also do one task for you."
Hearing this, he subconsciously turned to look at the other guests behind his grandfather.
"You'd better keep your word, were-cat"
He then dodged in front of Itsuki as his grandfather retreated to the side. A servant came with another wooden sword which was then given to Itsuki.
Finally being able to see Itsuki properly, Byakuya was surprised by his appearance but soon calmed down.
'He is really handsome, but the future clan head of the Kuchiki family should not lose to the underlings of those cats'
While thinking about such things, he waited for Itsuki to take a stand. Itsuki did not say anything as he let go of his zanpakuto and took out the wooden sword, which was,
'Should I go all out, or should I hold back? 10%? 50%?...'
Before he could continue thinking, Yoruichi arrived next to him and whispered two words before grabbing Seikyo and shunpoing next to Ginrei.
"Destroy him"
'Well it looks like I'll try my hardest'
After arriving next to Ginrei, Yoruichi questioned him as his face turned serious,
"I'm sorry I didn't tell you before"
Hearing this Ginrei only shook his head, though,
"Since he was born, he has been training in the manor clan. It was time for him to accept some kind of setback"
Ginrei knew very well that although, among his peers, Byakuya was unmatched, he had not suffered any setbacks. Yoruichi is not enough to curb that arrogance but Itsuki is perfect, he looks around his age and is much younger than him.
Seikyo who was suddenly gripped started protesting 'I want to go back to papa, let me you mean'
"Kyu Kyu"
"Relax, Seikyo. Look, Itsuki's gonna fight"
This seemed to calm him down as he observed his papa.
Yoruichi came forward and picked up a stone.
"Ready-prepared"
While Byakuya placed his sword in front of him in a chudan position, Itsuki got into the position of Iaido. Seeing the two of them, Yoruichi threw a pebble into the air.
All the two were waiting for was the sound of falling pebbles.
They wait.
And waited.
Byakuya became annoyed as veins appeared on his forehead but calmed himself down after seeing Itsuki not fidgeting. Still he thinks to himself
'I'll take the cat later'
As soon as he thought of this, the sound of pebbles hitting the ground sounded. Forcibly, calming himself seemed to pay off as Byakuya moved. Stepping forward he swept his wooden sword down. Mid-swing, better yet, mid-step, Itsuki, in front of him, looked up and made eye contact.
Byakuya suddenly felt a tremor on his back when he saw those icy blue eyes before seeing Itsuki suddenly disappear from his sight. His eyes widened slightly as he lost the feeling of holding the sword as he finished his swing.
Looking around, he found his wooden sword several meters away from him.
He looked shocked because he had lost to someone who looked his age.
Seeing her papa win, Seikyo let out some cute cries with a joyous expression on her face.
Yoruichi decides that it is enough and makes him leave with Itsuki. Itsuki only glanced at Byakuya one last time before following Yoruichi away.
