The next day, at dawn, the Otis River troupe was at the airport. The man was about to take his sister and husband on their honeymoon.
"Luke, follow me for a second" Otis said as he flicked his hand toward Luke. Otis gave her a white box and asked Lup to open it.
His sister-in-law complied with Otis' wishes and opened the white box. "Mobile? Wh-wh-what for? I already have my own phone, brother,"
"Give me your old phone and wear it forever. I want you to forget my son and focus on Alma. Inside the new phone is also installed your new number," said Otis while taking Luke's old phone from earlier held. "I will not tell you that my father will go, nor will I tell Kanaya where you are going,"
Luke bends the salivany roughly while combing his spikey hair back. "Yes, I get it, brother,"
Otis nods his head and wishes that his sister-in-law could completely forget Kanaya, his beloved daughter. "good. Go now!"
About a few hours later a car stopped in front of Otis and from inside the car came down a beautiful young girl wearing a cap and a t-shirt and jeans. "Well, is Papa here?"
"Of course Papa's waiting for you. This morning Papa drove Aunt Alma to go on her honeymoon and everything is waiting for you here. No problem, right?" replied Otis while joking.
Nay smiled wryly and spoiledly he took her with his father to walk with him. Suddenly, Otis gave a surprise that was wrapped neatly and decorated with a large red ribbon. "This is for you, Nay. Open,"
"What is this, Papa?" kanaya asked with her eyes sparkling cheerfully. He opened the box quickly and immediately took out the contents. "Well, new phone? This for me?"
Otis nodded. "Of course for you. Ah, there's a number on it too, so I'll take your old phone instead,"
Kening Kanaya shriveled. "Why my cell phone? Why should I change my number?"
"Luke. I want you to forget each other and not look for each other" Otis replied briefly. Discussing the matter with Kanaya is heavier than Luke. She does not want to see her son sick or cry because she has to forget the man she loves, but Otis also thinks of the best for Kanaya.
Kanaya. "Yes, Papa. I need to board immediately. Take good care of yourself, Pa. I've asked Kai to accompany you as long as I'm not around,"
Otis laughing. "Hahahaha, what can that kid do? Hahaha,"
After Kanaya and Alma leave, Otis returns home. And this time he felt lonely because even though he usually stayed at the apartment but at least the girl still contacted him and returned to play with him.
But this time, Kanaya will not be back in a long time. Somehow he felt very sad and guilty for keeping Kanaya away from his comfortable life.
As Kanaya promised, that morning Kai came to see Otis. He brought some morning snacks and black coffee that he bought at a nearby coffee shop.
"Good morning, Mr. Rivers," Kai said excitedly. His arms were still bandaged but did not prevent him from doing activities that morning.
Otis was surprised to hear the greeting from Kai. At that time he was having breakfast alone and so heard Kai's voice the old man was quite surprised. "Oh, who is it?"
Otis opens the door for Kai and invites the young man to come in and have breakfast with him. "Well, what are you here for, young man?"
"Of course to accompany you, Mr. Rivers. I know you must be lonely so I came here and intend to accompany you to breakfast after that I left for work, " replied Kai while serving coffee to Otis.
"It's called coffee, Mr. Rivers. You must have never tasted coffee sold in a coffee shop, right? Then I brought it here so you can feel the pleasure of coffee sold in coffee shops. This coffee is no less delicious than the expensive coffee you usually consume," replied Kai eagerly. He sipped his coffee deliciously in the presence of Otis so as to make the middle-aged man swallow his saliva.
"Is it that good?" otis asked her lips and started trying to sip Kai's coffee. The first moment made Otis widen his eyes. "Wow, you said, it's so delicious!" yells.
Finally, Otis breakfast that morning became quite crowded with the presence of Kai who was happy to joke and smile. Otis had been surrounded by serious people with their authoritative nature and talked about it.
But unlike Kai, the man talks about everything from his football game, his favorite food, where he and Nay go to often, and even the man can keep up with Otis' chatter around the company.
Otis secretly admired Kai. It is only fitting why Kak Naya can be friends with the old man in front of her.
"What's your job at the office?" otis asked seriously.
"Oh, I'm just a regular employee, Mr. Rivers. Without Kanaya's help I might not get a job as comfortable as this especially in a famous place as big as Rivers Group" replied Kai honestly.
Otis nodded his head. The man who likes to drink coffee began to devise a plan to avenge everything that has been done by Kai both to himself and to Kanaya.
"What was your last education question mark and how was your work experience?" otis asked as if she was interviewing a new employee.
"I'm just a vocational school graduate, Mr. Rivers. Due to the limited cost I was unable to continue my education and then someone asked me to work so whatever I did so that I could raise money and survive" Kai replied without awkwardly.
Again, Otis nodded. "How long have you been with Rivers Group?"
"Hmmm, about 3 or 4 years, sir. But first I want to apologize, what's behind all these questions you asked me?" ask Kai. "When Nay first brought me to the Rivers Group, the interviewer didn't ask me this much detail, sir,"
"Of course, there's Kanaya next to you, right? Now I know why Nay always invites you to a corporate party. You are smart and your insight is broad. You also have the potential to become a leader because you dare to make decisions. I salute you" said Otis Long.
Kai blushed in shame. "Ah, it could be. Thank you, Mr. Rivers. It seems, I should go and finish this nice breakfast, "Kai looked at his worn-out watch, then he said goodbye to Otis because he had to work.
"Mr Fletcher, there's something I want to give you but it's not new. This is mine for a long time but at the very least, it can replace your worn-out watch," Otis said, he got up from the dining chair and rushed to his room.
Before long, he came out with a large box containing his watch collection. The hairless man took out a roll of a branded watch and gave it to Kai. "Give me your hand, young man,"
Otis pulled Kai's hand, deftly opening the man's worn watch and replacing it with his. "Please consider this a gift for you and one more, I want you to be my personal assistant. It just so happened that my assistant I passed on to Luke and I haven't found anyone worthy of taking over my job. Hows it? You want to take it?"
Kai opened his mouth wide. He doesn't trust his hearing. "Really, Mister?"
Otis nodded. "I told you, consider it a gift for you, Young man,"
Kai smiled widely and hugged the middle-aged man's half-bald-headed hand. "Thank you, Mr. Rivers,"
