"Hows it? It's stopped, isn't it?" ask Kai gently. The man was the only one who didn't panic at the sight of Nay's bloody condition. "The key is just one, stay calm and don't panic,"
Immediately, Otis hugged Kai. "Thank you, Fletcher. I've been limp at the sight of blood." After letting go of his embrace, Otis took Nay's arm and asked her back to lie down with an elevated pillow. "Sleep, Nay,"
After his daughter fell asleep, Otis walked out with a sag. "Fletcher, Luke, accompany me."
The two men immediately walked with Otis who took them to the dining room. Otis family dining room, there is an island or a large table and in front of the island there is a bar table, complete with wine cellar that contains a variety of wines from various years and countries.
Otis took out a pitch-black bottle with a red liquid that read Cabernet Sauvignon in front of the bottle. Otis poured the drink into three glasses of wine. "Cheers, for health,"
"Ah, I found Nay's light and chemotherapy schedule. Period 4?" ask Otis.
Kai and Luke nodded. "Yes, a week of 3 rays and chemotherapy. That's a period of being given Nay's condition like this,"
"Stage 3 blood cancer? Crazy one! Why can't I know, Luke! None of you told me! Too! What are you guys waiting for? You're waiting for my daughter to die, just gonna tell me why she died? I see! God, what we're dealing with is cancer! Cancer!" otis hatch. His face turned red, it was only natural that he had already downed those three glasses of red wine.
Luke and Kai looked at each other. "I'm sorry, Mr. Rivers. It's not my will but it's Nay's request" Kai said.
Otis kicked the table pretty tight. "Argh! Fuck that! I'm the father, you can ignore Nay's talk and tell me! What if I don't find out and he's no longer helped? How's it?"
The old man shed his tears. "I'm afraid he can't, Fletcher. I'm not ready to lose him,"
Kai raises his head, signaling Luke to hug his future father-in-law. Luke complains and embraces Otis' shoulder. "I'm afraid of losing him, brother."
As soon as Luke said that word, Otis seemed to wake up. "He still loves you, doesn't he? Marry Nay. We'll have the wedding party soon! I'll talk to Alma,"
"She's in doubt, brother." replied Luke briefly. The sexist man seemed to know how Kanaya's heart felt at this moment.
Otis's forehead is wrinkled. "Any doubt? Doubt what's going on?" otis asked, not understanding. All the time she knew, her son had always loved Luke. So why doubt now? In fact, he was willing to run away when the wedding blessing took place just because he did not want to be married to someone else, and now he hesitated? What made him doubt?
"Fletcher." replied Luke, his eyes turned to Kai and at the moment two pairs of eyes were looking at him sharply.
"A-, me?" ask Kai.
It's not for no reason Luke said that Nay was in doubt. He watched as Nay got sick, the girl was very close to Kai. Every time he was scared, he was happy, he was worried, it was always Kai who was called by him.
Just like before, once he got scared, the first person he called out was Kai. Luke feels eliminated because of this Nay act.
The next day, Nay's condition was much better than when he was in the hospital. The girl finished the prepared food.
"Oh, where's Kai? I haven't seen him" asked Nay that morning.
Last night, Kai did come home to his apartment because he couldn't afford to spend the night at Otis' house and again, there were already a lot of people guarding Nay, so he chose to return to his apartment.
"Go home" answered Otis.
"There's Luke. Luke will drive you" Otis said.
Nay was silent. It's not that he doesn't love his uncle anymore, but somehow lately it feels more comfortable with Kai.
Otis invites Luke to talk to him alone. "How's your divorce proceeding?"
"My lawyer and Alma's lawyer will come forward. My relationship with Alma is no problem either. We're more comfortable like this" Luke replied.
Otis nodded his head. A nod that contained many meanings and omens, the middle-aged man was devising a plan.
"How do you feel about Nay?" ask Otis.
Luke smiled. His face became pink. "It feels a little strange to talk to you about matters of the heart, brother. That's so awkward,"
Otis grunting. "Huh! You look like a young man, Luke! Don't be shy anymore! Tell me, how do you feel about my son?"
"I love her. If you ask me if I'm afraid, I'm afraid I'm losing him. Nay took three quarters of my heart and my life" Luke replied.
Otis took a sip of his cold coffee and put the cup back down. He was silent and his eyes were far ahead. "I did too, Luke. She's my only daughter. He's my life, he's my life, and he's my center of happiness. I don't know what my life is like without him. I told Vio, Nay's mother, about Nay and I was afraid he'd take Nay to stay with him if Nay could get through all this,"
"I'm scared, Luke. I'm afraid of all the possibilities that might happen." Otis continued. "Then, why did Nay change like that?"
"What does it mean to change?" ask Luke. A waiter delivered some sweet cakes and macarons. Luke takes a yellow macaroni and puts it in his mouth in one mouthful.
"He's closer to Fletcher. Has his feelings changed?" ask Otis. "Do I have to marry her to Fletcher? I mean, whatever we can do right now, I'll do it,"
Otis leaves without waiting for Luke to answer. "Nay, Papa wants to ask you something,"
At that time Nay was replying to Kai with a small smile. "What does it mean, Pa? I asked Kai to start my wishlist,"
"Wishlist?" otis asked, not understanding.
Nay nodded. "Yes, me, Kai, and uncle, made a wishlist that we would do together. The doctor also allowed me to do that. I want to start my wishlist as soon as possible. I'm afraid the time won't be enough,"
"You still have time, Nay! We do your wishlists one by one together. Not just three," suggested Otis. He could not imagine how sad Nay was when he knew his time was up and he still had an unrealized desire. "May I see your bucket list?"
Nay gave her a piece of paper with the name of the hospital where she was treated on the paper. Otis reads one by one, up to the point of getting married.
"Who do you want to marry? Your uncle or Fletcher? Because this is in your bucket list at number four. We have to prepare everything, right?" ask Otis. He didn't want to look at his daughter's face, because it was true Luke said, at this moment Nay hesitated and his doubts were clearly visible in his eyes.
