"Luke,"
"Sister Otis? What's up until you come to the office?" ask Luke. The man immediately tidied up his desk and allowed the owner of the Rivers Group to sit down.
"Luke, I don't really want to interfere in your household affairs, but your wife blames Nay for the lawsuit you've been serving her. Answer me, is it because of my daughter?" asked Otis without further ado.
Luke held up his seat. This was not a problem he had prepared the answer for. If she answered honestly, her brother-in-law would be furious with her but if she lied, Otis would definitely ask her to keep their marriage.
"I'm sorry, brother. But I think you already know what happened to our marriage" Luke finally replied. "Nay, I still love her and from the news I heard, she's sick. If I may know, what's Nay sick about, sister?" luke asked about Otis' beloved daughter.
Otis lowered his head. The man exhaled slowly. "If you're divorced from Alma, are you planning to marry Kanaya? Is that your plan, Luke?" otis asked without answering Luke's previous question.
Luke shrugged both of his shoulders. "I don't know yet, brother. I just want to find happiness for myself first,"
"Huh! Suppose I endowed your relationship with Nay after you divorced, I'm afraid you'd treat Nay like Alma" Otis said.
The middle-aged man's position, now goes awry because he is afraid that Luke will repeat his mistake against Nay. She doesn't want to, Nay is devastated just by being betrayed by the man her daughter loves so much.
"Nay hurts from missing you, Luke. Honestly, I gave up. I don't know how to make Nay get rid of your shadows anymore" Otis continued. "Only Kai who survives is by his side and my hope is that Nay will open his heart to Kai. But it turns out, it failed too,"
Otis' face looked tired and aging. "How's this, Luke?"
"Will Brother bless us?" luke asked half-expectively.
"Come, Luke. Has your decision been made to divorce Alma?" ask Otis. "They are both my favorite women and they are such precious women in my life. Now, they're both sick because of you, Luke," Otis said.
Luke's down. "I'm sorry, brother,"
The silence now ambushed the two of them as if they were swallowed to the bottom of the earth.
Elsewhere, Alma was talking to Nay. Kai gets angry with Alma because she wakes up Nay who is sleeping.
"Sorry, Madam. Ta-,"
"I don't need to talk to you, Fletcher! Move over!" knock Alma and encourage Kai to step out of his sight. "Day! Oh, my dear niece is apparently sleeping beautifully after successfully damaging my household! I see, huh! Wake, Nay!"
Alma pulled Nay's hand from her nut chair. "Wake up! I want to talk to you!"
"Well" Nay groaned weakly.
"Mrs Wallace!" knock Kai over and immediately approach Nay, wrapping him to his feet. "Kanaya is sick, ma'am. Let him rest first! Don't be rude to him, I beg of you,"
"Come, we'll talk" Nay said, and she let go of Kai's hand and gave him a sign that he was going to be okay.
Before long, the two women were already sitting around the dining table with a glass of water in front of them. "It's to drink not to splash into each other's faces!" kai said firmly.
"What's up, Auntie?" ask Nay. The girl propped her head up with one of her arms.
Without mercy, Alma attacked Nay who was holding back the pain. "You asked Luke to divorce me, didn't you? Honestly, Nay! I've memorized your nature!"
"First, yes, I did ask Uncle Luke to divorce Auntie. I've asked her twice and Uncle has always refused my divorce requests" Nay said in a slightly raucous voice.
Kai looked at the girl with a worried look. She was afraid that Nay would faint or bleed from her nose again or even from somewhere else. He ventured to approach the two women. "Mrs Wallace, Nay is sick. He has to rest" said Kai. The man then knelt down and rested before Alma. "Please, don't make him think too hard, ma'am,"
Nay asks Kai to get up, he holds Kai's arm and invites him to stand up. However, Kai refused. "Please promise me, ma'am," Kai asked.
"Go! I'll try not to make this Itchy Girl think hard. At least a hard slap, can make him think," said Alma, ready to raise his hand.
Nay's heart ached when he heard Aunt Alma's words about him. With a swift, Kai confronted in front of Nay and he was the one who was finally hit by a slap from Aunt Alma.
"Ka-, you! Get out of my sight!" riled Alma and encouraged Kai to go away from them.
However, Kai insists and stays by Nay's side. "Speak up, let's just say I don't exist,"
Finally, Alma heeded Kai's presence in their midst. "Like-happy! Look Nay, I'm not going to beg you twice, but this time I beg you, stay away from my husband and ask him to withdraw the divorce! If you're willing to do that for Auntie, I'll pull my words!"
"Sorry, Auntie. I will stick to my decision to marry Uncle Luke" Nay replied.
Kai swallowed his saliva, he doubted his sense of hearing when he heard Nay say that sentence. "What do you mean, Nay?"
"During this time, Uncle always refused to divorce from Auntie. But Auntie said that Uncle sued Auntie. Let go of Luke Wallace and give him to me. I need Uncle Luke in my life, Bi. I'm sorry" Nay told his aunt. The beautiful girl did not know how much time she had left. He wanted to stop all the therapies and treatments that made him weaker and tormented to spend the rest of the time he had with his beloved Uncle Luke.
A slap floated on Nay's white, smooth cheek. "Bad! I'm your aunt, Nay! Be aware!" alma's tears rolled down from her eyes. "I don't care about your pain or whatever it is, I just want to, stay away from Luke! He's my husband, Nay! He's uncle! YOUR UNCLE!"
Nay held her cheek and looked straight at Aunt Alma. "I know, Bi. Suppose, I only have one more year left and my wish is to marry Uncle Luke, will Auntie let it go?"
Alma's face was getting louder. "You're going to die next year or tomorrow, I don't care! Until then, I'll never let Luke go to you, Nay! It will never! Catch that!" After saying that, Alma left by slamming the door.
"Kai, my head is so dizzy," he was just about to stand up, his consciousness had already left him far away. The girl did not hear Kai's voice calling her name worriedly while patting her cheeks.
