Chapter 28 Challenge

A few moments later Emilia woke up.

“You've woken Emilia?”

“Already,” said Emilia in a still half-sleepy voice.

His eyes still look sleepy. I don't think his life has been fully collected. He must be very tired. Our fight yesterday and also our trip back here, must have made him tired.

Tok tok tok tok

Someone knocked on the door. That must be Laura I thought. When I opened the door it was true that it was Laura.

“What's Laura?”

“Nothing. I just want to check if you're awake or not.”

“As you can see now, I've woken up from earlier.”

“If Emilia?”

“Look at yourself,” I said lazily.

Emilia was still sleeping on her bed. Laura came into my room. Then we discussed the matter of hero Evan.

“When will we meet Evan?” ask Laura.

“Looking at his condition maybe tomorrow is the right time. Besides you can see for yourself, that Emilia is still exhausted. To be honest I myself am also the same.”

“That's it? I'm still tired, actually. Then we just rest for today, only tomorrow we go to guild.”

“Good. Laura, I had a chat with Luna. He said he wanted to be an adventurer. What say?”

Laura didn't seem surprised by what I just said, which means she already knew or so I thought.

“Actually Luna was already an adventurer. It reached the C.” stage

“Rank C?”

“Iya. He stopped after my party was destroyed by Black Dragon.”

“You asked for it?”

“No. He stopped taking care of me after the tragedy. If there is no drama maybe I have gone crazy.”

“Then why does he still stop until now? You are back.”

“I think he's worried that I'm going to fall back. But now I'm fine.”

“Then we take him tomorrow to the adventurer guild for.”

“That's a great idea. I'll talk to him.”

After that Laura came out of my room.

The next day when we were about to leave for the guild, I asked Laura about Luna. He replied with a nod of his head, meaning there was no problem. A moment later Luna came out of the house wearing her adventurer clothes.

He wore a red robe and also carried a magic wand with a red crystal at the end. He also brought some books and medicine. From there I knew that what Laura said yesterday was true.

We then walked to the guild. On the way Laura told Emilia about my conversation with Laura about Luna, because Emilia fell asleep again while we were talking.

Suddenly my hand was touched by Luna. He whispered to me, ”Actually what mission did the three of you run yesterday? Since he came home he looks even better.”

“It was only a hunting mission and also raised medicinal plants only.”

“Hmm..?” Luna looked at me suspiciously.

After that we walked to the guild. When I arrived Emilia and I looked through the missions in the guild, while Laura accompanied Luna to register as a reinforcement.

Since we arrived I have not seen Evan's adventurer group. I think maybe he hasn't come yet or some other business. I heard that Evan lives in the palace.

After waiting for a while, Laura and Luna walked up to me.

“It's done?”

“Already,” replied Laura.

“Start from the beginning?” ask Emilia.

“No. Since I was once an adventurer, I only updated my adventurer card,” replied Luna.

When we were choosing the mission, a group of people entered the guild and came to us.

“Who are they?” my whisper to Luna.

“They are Teresa's daughter's bodyguards. If they are here means Evan and the princess too,” explained Luna.

After seeing them, all I have in mind is that they are Evan and Princess Teresa. The question is why they came to us.

At first I thought they were looking for a mission like ours, but suddenly the two of them stood in front of Laura.

“It looks like I know what they want.”

“I also know master,” said Emilia.

I saw Luna not responding. I'm sure he's confused about what's going on right now. Laura seemed to know their meaning as well.

“What are you Miss Laura?” ask Evan.

“It's true. I know what you mean and I'll answer you. I refused.”

Luna looked surprised by Laura's words just now. Me and Emilia had guessed it from the beginning.

“Wait first! He hasn't said anything and you immediately rejected him?” teresa said annoyed.

I think from his words it seems that he actually lacks experience. Besides, he might be a spoiled kid. I'm curious actually if in the rank of adventurers the strength of the two of them is how much.

“Luna, if measured according to the rank of adventurers they are both equal what?” my whisper.

“Maybe B and C.”

“B and C?”

To be honest they were still far from ready to fight the demon lord's army. Teresa looked very upset at the repulsion from Laura.  Now that Laura was already A rank, so it was only natural that they wanted to recruit her.

“You know why I came?” ask Evan.

“Yes. You want me to join your group, don't you?”

“True. If you can figure out what your reason is?”

From his gaze I know that he is the type of person who leads high justice. But besides that I feel that he is actually a justice enthusiast and also a hero enthusiast.

“I already have a group and I don't want to leave them.”

“You mean this man and this wolf girl? They look weak,” Teresia said.

“But they will inhibit you from becoming stronger,” Evan said.

“What are you challenging us?” laura asked annoyed.

A moment Teresa was silent and thought of something and so was Evan.

“How about we have our group match against your group?” ask Evan.

“Good. If we win you don't bother us anymore,” Laura said.

“And if we win Laura join us,” Teresia said.

“But not unbalanced? 3 against 2?” ask Luna.

“Let's rest we also have other members. Agree?” teresia.

“Agree.”

I feel something is strange. Although Evan looks fair, but I don't like Teresa's gaze. It seems he's planning something.

“Tomorrow at noon in the palace arena, we will compete,” Teresia said.

Then they left the guild.

“Do they have other members Luna?” ask Emilia.

“If it's not wrong there are some. A fox human with an A-ranked mage class, a Mermaid with a B-ranked assassin class, then a woman with an A.” ranked paladin class

“So that's why they asked Laura to join. They don't have someone with priest class,” I said

“So it's 3 against 5. Brother Ciel and Emilia what rank?” ask Luna.

“I and Emilia rank C and Laura's rating A.”

“No hope.” 

“Take it easy. They are both very strong,” Laura said.

After that we left the guild and returned to Laura and Luna's house. Today we didn't take the mission because of tomorrow's match. We chose to make a plan.
