Chapter 49 Seizing the Capital

We appeared inside the palace, or rather were in the vestibule where we were supposed to be after entering. The room was dark and dirty.

I recalled the events in our illusion back then and compared them to the present. But I still try to think positively.

We finally arrived in front of the throne room. The large door to the throne room had also been shattered. We stepped into the throne room.

There I saw a figure sitting on the throne of the king. He wore a robe and carried a stick with a skull head. His eyes gave off a blue light. He stared hard at us.

He stood up and walked towards us.

"Finally you can get to this place. It's been a week since you guys disappeared."

"What week? Don't-don't" said Laura.

"No Laura. It's different from what we've seen there. Let's see there's no chaos in the city."

"That's right Laura. I also did not hear the chaos in the city" continued Emilia.

"Sorry, I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Daimon, one of the generals of the demon lord."

"The demon king general?" laura was surprised.

"So it's the same as Regyus like him. Looking at what's here, he must be a necromancer" I said.

Daimon smiled and said, "That's true. I'm a necromancer, but not just a necromancer."

I prepared Luminatio for me and Umbra for Laura. Besides I used Gladio Ignis and Gladio Grando as weapons.

Laura instantly used Divine Protection and Null All. Emilia took out both of her swords and coated them with Blue Fire. We are ready to fight.

"Well, you guys couldn't relax a little bit apparently. Then I'll play with you guys."

Boss Daimon The Lich King has appeared.

"Lich King's? So he's Lich King," I said.

"He's Lich King? it was worth it master," Emilia said.

"You mean?"

"Lich King is the king of necromancers. He could control undead in large numbers. If he was just an ordinary necromancer then the undead we fought would not be as much as before" explained Laura.

I know the Lich is skeleton-shaped and Daimon is human. How could he be Lich thought I was. But it's not that important.

"It looks like it's started there, too" Daimon said.

"What started?"

"War. Yesterday the king and the hero came to bring an army to seize the capital. You don't have to worry I won't be there. But instead of leading my army there is my strongest subordinate, Dulahan."

"This is a master's department, that Dulahan may still be too powerful for Evan. We have to beat this Lich right away."

I used Caleo to push Emilia on Daimon. He immediately attacked Daimon with successive attacks.

Daimon took out a magic circle and from it appeared a hand made of skeletons. The hand protected Daimon from Emilia's attack.

"I won't let it go" said Laura.

He used the Holy Cross on that hand and destroyed it. I also went forward to help Emilia. The Necromancer was very weak for close combat without his troops.

Daimon leapt back to escape my and Emilia's attack. He then shot out the same blue flame as Emilia. However, Emilia overcame it by shooting her own fire. The fire of Emilia was stronger than the fire of Daimon and shot straight towards Daimon.

Once again Daimon took out a magic circle and summoned a giant shield. The shield held back Emilia's attack.

"You forgot about me?"

I moved behind Daimon using Caleo and attacked him. He tried to resist my attack using his cane.

"This is not all I have."

I unleashed Ignis' power to burn his staff and also freeze his legs using Grando. Suddenly below me appeared a magic circle and then came out a pillar of fire that made me burn and thrown.

"Ciel!" laura said as she ran towards me.

"Feel this."

Daimon will attack Laura. Emilia wanted to prevent it, but she was arrested by the Persian Daimon.

Daimon took out a sword from his staff and threw it at Laura. When the sword was about to hit Laura, my Umbra protected her by forming a shield.

"Are you okay, Ciel?"

"Yes. Thanks for your Divine Protection, I didn't sustain any fatal injuries."

I then stood up and slid towards Daimon. Laura shoots Holy Ray into the shield holding Emilia and destroys her.

"Emilia, use this" Laura said.

He gave the Holy Blessing to the dragon slayer and Emilia's masamune. That skill made Emilia's weapon have a holy attribute so that it could fight against Daimon.

I used the Gladio Luminatio to fight Daimon after knowing he was weak with holy attributes.

"Now what are you going to do?"

Under Daimon appeared a magic circle. Then came the blue flames that burned him.

"I felt a great power emerge from there," I said.

A while later appeared a tall and hovering figure. The face of the skull with blue flame in its eyes. He wore a black robe and a crown on his head. With a sword weapon in his right hand and a magic wand in his left.

"This is my true form, the Lich King."
