Chapter 40 Run from the Capital

At night, the entire capital gate was closed. I don't know what caused it. In addition, some people wearing all-black clothes walked towards the palace.

Surprisingly there were no people on the streets of this city. The city has become a ghost town. I immediately woke Emilia and Laura.

“Then what about Charles?” ask Emilia.

“He got away with Evan and the others. I was caught before, but one of the servants attacked them and made me run.”

“Do you know where they are now?” my many.

Charlote shook her head.

“How now Ciel?” ask Laura.

“We save the king and queen, then leave here.”

“Good master,” says Emilia.

“Charlote, you stay close to Laura.”

“Laura?” ask Charlote.

Laura then introduces herself to Charlote.

Before leaving Laura gave something to me. After I saw it was a relic.

“Where did you get it?”

“When I waited for Evan's blessing, I went to the dungeon store and found him. But I don't know what it is.”

“No problem. I owe you.”

“No. It's a gift from me for helping me."

“Thank you.”

I destroyed the relic and absorbed the glyphs that were inside.

Glyph Grando has been obtained.

I then read the description and it was an ice-element glyph. With this I have 2 glyph elements plus Ignis.

“Charlote do you think of a place where your father and mother are held captive?”

“Maybe in the dungeon,” replied Charlote.

“Good. Now you tell me the direction.”

“You're interrupting!!” I said while attacking them using Grando.

I'm freezing them for now, because I feel like they're being controlled by someone. Emilia also I asked to make them unconscious.

We were now in the palace courtyard and headed to the palace dungeon. There we had to fight a lot of soldiers, including the general. I'm using Grando Union.

The attack created a large ice flower and then exploded and froze the general and the soldiers. If I snap my fingers then they will be destroyed. But I just want to hold them.

Soon, we went into that prison and looked for those who were taken prisoner. We split up to find him. 

“We found it!” shouted Laura who was together with Charlote.

I opened the prison door. There were only kings and queens and 4 servants. Charlote then hugged her father and mother.

“Charlote we can't linger here,” I said.

“Iya.”

“Then you guys with Emilia and Laura find a horse carriage, while I do something with those who surround the palace.”

“But...,” says Charlote is worried.

“It's okay. Just trust the master,” said Emilia.

After we got out of prison we split up temporarily. I then climbed up the top of the palace walls. I saw them getting closer, so I attacked them using Arcus.

Moments later Emilia, Laura and the others came. I opened the palace gate.

“Laura you can drive a horse carriage?” my many.

“Good. We're gonna head out of this town. Me and Emilia will protect you,” I said.

I also summoned a dragon using my glyph. When the dragon came out the people wearing black robes did not dare to approach.

“It...,” says Charlote.

“Take it easy. The dragon belongs to Ciel,” explained Laura.

My dragon attacked anyone who approached us. Emilia and I attacked them. To fight those people I used Arcus Ignis. Emilia and I tried to attack them without hitting the building to avoid the korbam of the people.

On the way we met Evan and his group. Evan who was surprised by my dragon tried to attack him but was held back by Emilia using a masamune.

“Stop, the dragon belongs to my master,” said Emilia trying to stop Evan.

“What? How could a human possibly control a dragon?” ask Teresa.

“Have stopped. The dragon does belong to Ciel,” said the king from inside the carriage.

In addition to Evan's group, we also met with an army of elves as well as Luna and her group. They were not exposed to the influence of the demon army fortunately.

“Charles, get in the car,” I said.

“Good. Thank you for saving my family.”

“Let's just thank you. Now we have to get out of this city,” Laura said.

We will continue our journey soon. When we got close to the gate, the black-robed people in large numbers blockaded the road. I just destroyed them using Ignis Union. The attack also destroyed the city gates.

From the side, they also tried to attack us, but we managed to stop it. There were also people chasing us from behind. My dragon attacked those who were chasing.

“Come! just a little more,” I said.

As soon as you made it out of the city, I closed the hole I made earlier using Grando so that they could not catch up to us.

A little far from the city, we stopped.

“Evan, please take the king's family to Tron,” I said.

“Then, what will you do?” ask Evan.

“We will return to the capital to find out the source of the problem.”

“Three of you?” ask Teresa.

“Iya. I suspect this has something to do with the demon army. Now it is better for you to assemble an army to retake the capital,” I said.

“Alright,” replied Evan.

The king agreed to it. The king's first son will also return, bringing some troops from other kingdoms after hearing that Ellis was attacked by a demon army.

After that, I, Emilia, and also Laura returned to the capital. The others headed to Tron.
