Chapter 16's

"What's? Really?" Hyuga.

"Lately, a lot of things have happened, huh?" Izuki.

"Mrsne. Who is teppei-san?" Ask Furihata.

"Kiyoshi Teppei, he is the ace of the Seirin basketball team. But, due to an injury, he had to be hospitalized for several months. Right, senpai?" Rei said to Riko with his smile.

Those who heard were a little surprised.

"Yes, you're right." Riko.

Currently, the players were changing their clothes.

"By the way, is Kagami okay?" Hyuga.

"He was told to rest, but I told him to keep coming in for practice." Hyuga.

"Have he not been here for a week, has he?" Koganei.

"Is he okay?" Izuki.

"No, I don't mean Kagami. That Kuroko guy, I feel like something's happened to him. I think he feels like his ability can't develop anymore, or something." Izuki.

After the others go home, Kuroko secretly exercises at the gym alone.

"I know you must be here. You must be thinking of Aomine-kun's words right?" Said Rei standing at the gym door. Rei then walks over to Kuroko and picks up the basketball in Kuroko's hand.

"Rei-san, why are you here?" Ask Kuroko.

"I also happen to want to play. That's why I'm here." Rei Said. He then dribbles and puts the ball into the ring. "I haven't played in a long time."

Rei then turned to face Kuroko. "Kuroko-kun, I know you're doubting yourself right?" Rei Said. Kuroko looked surprised for a moment but remained silent.

"You're wondering, 'Is my ability still able to develop? Is this the limit of my ability?' Listen Kuroko-kun, all you need to do is believe in your abilities. You can still grow, trust me. And also, Kagami still believes in you." Rei said and smiled.

Rei's words seemed to awaken Kuroko that he could become stronger and become an encouragement for her to still believe in Kagami.

SKIP TIME

Two weeks later, Kagami returned to training.

They all look happy with Kagami's arrival. Hyuga immediately nagged him who did not come at all for two weeks, he immediately apologized which made Hyuga so heartless.

"Jiang!" Teppei said as he entered the gym. "Come, we'll practice."

"For a long time no see, yes, Kiyoshi." Koganei.

"Yes" Teppei said.

Then, there was a small debate between Teppei and Hyuga.

"I've been hospitalized since last summer. I rested because of surgery and rehabilitation. My name is Kiyoshi Teppei, 193 centimeters tall, weighing 81 kilos. Posisiu. Hello, yes!" Teppei introduced himself.

"Teppei, you're okay, right?" Ask Riko.

"Yes, I'm fully recovered! I don't practice, but that doesn't mean I didn't do anything in the hospital." Teppei.

"Did you learn something?" Ask Izuki who is interested.

"Yes, Hanafuda (a Japanese card game)" Teppei said, making them all speechless. "I was taught by the grandfather who was rooming with me!"

"So.." Koganei.

"Asians too!" Teppei.

"It has nothing to do with basketball!" Hyuga and Izuki said together.

"In addition, there's one thing I want to say. Three years of High School is a very short time. That's why we have to mean it! Our goal, of course..where?!" Teppei said that made them all confused.

"Huh?" Riko.

"Well, where is the Inter High Tournament?" Teppei.

"Every year changes, after all we've lost too! Now that's our goal, the Winter Cup!" Izuki.

"When is it held?" Teppei.

"In Tokyo, every year is the same, right!" Hyuga.

"Well, the point is if we want to climb the mountain, of course our goal is the peak. But don't forget to enjoy the view too." Teppei.

The training began. But, Kagami just kept on committing the offence. He did not pay attention to the people around him and just played alone.

"Hey, Kagami-kun." Call Teppei who makes Kagami turn to him. "I also want to get off in the next game. But I don't think it's fair that I'm a starter just because I'm your upperclassman. Therefore, how about we compete one on one for the position of starter?" Teppei.

A one-on-one match between Kagami and Teppei begins. They both play in balance. Finally, Kagami won.
