Become a Manager At Kuroko No Basket
Chapter 17's

After not talking to each other for a long time, Kuroko and Kagami's relationship seems to be fine. We talked to each other even though we fought more often. During the summer break, Seirin's team had already decided to do the exercises on the beach and on the mountain.

The first exercise, they must play basketball on the beach. After that they tried to return to playing basketball in the sports hall. They are currently resting in the inn.

The next day, it was Kagami who woke up the morningest of the others. Kagami then brushes his teeth in the sink. Suddenly, Kuroko was already next to him.

"Basic, you were on purpose, right?!" Said Kagami who was surprised by Kuroko's presence.

"Ohayo gozaimasu." Said Kuroko whose hair was still a mess.

"Oh." Said Rei who had just come with a still sleepy face and brought equipment to brush his teeth in his hand.

The two of them noticed Rei's still-wrinkled face. Despite that, she remains cute.

"Are we really going to stay here?" Say a voice they know. 

They also turned their eyes to the origin of the sound. It was not long before Midorima and Takao passed by. Midorima and Takao then stop because they feel aware of something. They turn around and are shocked to meet Kagami, Kuroko and Rei. And vice versa, they were also surprised to meet Midorima and Takao.

"What are you doing here?" Midorima asked while pointing at Kagami.

"I should be the one!" Kagami.

"It's tradition for Shutoku to come here as part of the training camp." Takao explained.

"When we're training, you guys are having a good holiday, right?! Why is your skin so charred!" Midorima.

"Midorima-kun, we're not on vacation. We also practice just like you." Rei then rubbed his sleepy eyes. 

He went to the sink and washed his face and brushed his teeth. The four of them were just watching what he was doing. When he finished, Rei approached them again.

"Kagami-kun, Kuroko-kun, we need to get to the cafeteria immediately. They must be waiting for us." Rei Said. Kagami and Kuroko then nodded and walked following Rei towards the canteen.

After breakfast, the two teams decided to do a joint exercise. But, when Kagami was about to enter the field, he was asked by Riko to buy a drink in a mini market that was located quite far away.

Rei decides to accompany Kagami and help him to bring the drink. They are currently walking side by side.

"Actually, what do you mean by 'because I've seen it all' back then?" Kagami asked with a straight forward look.

"Do you want to know so much?" Ask Rei back.

"I'm just curious. How can you act like you know everything about what happened? You said you've seen it all, who are you?" Kagami asked who stopped his steps and stood up to Rei.

"You'll know soon enough. When the Winter Cup is over, I'll tell you everything." Rei said with a smile that made Kagami not understand. But Kagami chooses to shut up and continue their journey.

When they arrive at the mini market, they buy drinks in large quantities. Kagami seems to have no trouble carrying the drink as well as Rei.

"How can you bring all that? Is it not heavy?" Kagami wondered how a little girl like Rei could carry two plastic bags of drinks in such large quantities without difficulty.

"Because I live alone, I often go to the super market to buy cooking needs and so on. Because it's heavy, so I'm used to carrying it. It's nothing." Rei Said.

After they returned, the joint training had just finished. Rei immediately gave the drink to the basketball players. While Kagami looks upset because he can not play.

"Otsukare" Rei said as he gave Kuroko a drink.

"Arigatou" Kuroko said as she received the drink Rei gave her.

"You don't need to think about what Midorima-kun said earlier." Rei's words that made Kuroko surprised. Because he seemed to know what Midorima said to Kuroko during the joint training.

"Ha'i" Kuroko said with a smile.

"Otsukare" Rei said as he gave Midorima a drink. Midorima just kept quiet and received the drink Rei gave him.

"You know, Kuroko-kun will become stronger. Never underestimate it." Said Rei who got a glance from Midorima who was drinking.

He stopped drinking and looked at Rei.

"I never underestimated him. I've always admired his ability." Midorima.

Rei only smiled then rejoined Team Seirin.

The next day, at night, Kagami was training alone on a basketball court close to the inn. When mendribble the ball and will do dunk, suddenly there is someone who interrupted his activities.

"That's fine, yeah." Said Rei who interrupted Kagami.

"Ah, no. You know, there's a basketball hoop here, so I'd like to practice for a while. And also..." Said Kagami who was seen scratching his cheek with his index finger because he was caught wet while practicing alone. 

"During this training camp, I wasn't at all allowed to join forces against the Shutoku team." Kagami continued with a gloomy aura around him.

"So you still haven't noticed?" Rei said with a smile that made Kagami stare in confusion.

"Then I'll tell you." Rei then asks Kagami to jump. 

Kagami jumps up and touches the board in the basketball hoop. Takao who happened to be passing by was taken aback by Kagami's actions. He reflexes instantly hiding in the bushes.

'Rei and Kagami? What are they doing?' Inner Takao while watching Rei and Kagami then looked towards the basketball ring where there were already Kagami's hands. 'In addition, he jumped higher than the ring.'

"You're exhausted, so now you can only do that, yeah." Said Rei looking at Kagami's hand marks on the ring while folding his hands in front of his chest. "Now try to jump from the opposite side."

Kagami jumps up and re-taps the board on the ring, which makes the ring fall and almost hit Takao who is hiding in the bushes. Fortunately, Takao managed to avoid it.

Kagami then lay down on the field while looking up at the sky.

"You understand. Your strongest weapon is the power of a leap, only you still have not mastered it completely. For now, the trainer wants to strengthen your body muscles first. After that, think for yourself what you want to do" Rei said as he ruffled his waist.

"Don't forget to set up the ring again, yeah!" Rei said and left.

"I think I told him too much. Although there's still something I haven't told you. Let Midorima make him realize it." Rei muttered as he walked away back to the inn.

After Rei's departure, Midorima came to the field and played one on one against Kagami. Midorima then makes Kagami realize what he lacks. But, it makes Kagami upset because what makes him realize is Midorima. He decides to run on the beach with Kuroko accompanying him.

Elsewhere, Rei was standing under the streetlight towards the inn. He was waiting for Midorima.

"Is it okay to tell Kagami? You should know that it will also make Kuroko realize what she has to do to grow stronger, right?." Rei said as Midorima would walk past him.

"It doesn't matter, that's exactly what I want." Midorima said, raising her glasses.

Rei then walked up to Midorima and stood in front of him.

"You are sometimes hard to guess. For a tsundere like you." Rei said with a smile.

Midorima then raised his glasses which did not go down. "I'm not tsundere."

"You'll be all right." Rei said as he pressed his shoulders and went ahead of Midorima to the inn.
