Chapter 42's

The school holidays have ended, the students and students re-enter the school and restart the club activities and teaching lessons.

After that, Rei got ready to tidy up his things and got out of the gym.

It didn't take long for Rei to arrive at Shutoku High School. He immediately looked for a gym where the basketball club boys were training.

While walking around, he saw Takao from afar.

"Kun-kun!" Call Rei because the distance to Takao is quite far.

Takao who felt his name was called also turned his head. While Rei immediately approached Takao.

"Rei-chan, what are you doing here?" Takao asked as soon as Rei was already standing in front of him. He was confused to see Rei at his school.

"I was told by the coach to deliver an invitation to train against your team. Can you take me to see your coach?" Rei Said.

Takao nodded and escorted Rei to the gym and met with team coach Shutoku.

Rei's arrival attracts the attention of several members of the Shutoku basketball club. Midorima, who is also aware of Rei's arrival, is not happy because Rei is the center of attention for members of the Shutoku basketball club.

"Isn't he Seirin's team manager? Why did he come here?" Said one of the basketball club members.

His eyes glanced at Midorima who was looking at him. Quickly, Midorima shifted her gaze and focused on her training.

'It just seems to be my feeling.' Rei's mind then came out of the gym.

The coach of the Shutoku basketball team has agreed to hold a battle drill against Seirin. The training will be done next week.

Each team prepares itself well before going to be held match practice.

On the day of practice, the Shutoku basketball team came to Seirin High School after lesson time was over by bus. Seirin warms up in the gym while waiting for Shutoku to arrive at their school.

Rei is assigned to welcome Shutoku's arrival while the others prepare for battle practice.

Seirin is waiting for the arrival of Shutoku. Not long after, the bus used by Shutoku arrives at the schoolyard. Shutoku team members dropped down one by one.

After arriving at the gym, Rei told them the location of the dressing room and then he went to buy the needs to practice the match this time.

After he finished buying the necessary items, he returned to the gym. Midorima was standing in front of the gym like he was waiting for someone.

'Is he waiting for me?' Rei's mind then approached Midorima.

"Midorima-kun, why are you outside? Are you waiting for me?" Ask Rei.

"No, I wasn't waiting for you. I'm just looking for some fresh air." Midorima.

Rei then saw Midorima right in his eyes. Midorima who was seen like that became misbehaved, it was evident by him who raised his glasses several times.

'Basic tsundere. It seems like he's lying.' Inner Rei then chuckled.

"I'm going in first. They must have been waiting for me." Rei Said.

As he was about to pass Midorima, Rei whispered to him.

"Ganbatte ne." Midorima who heard it was delighted and smiled slightly.

'I won't lose.' Inner Midorima then went back into the gym and joined his team members.

The match practice began, both teams played in balance. No one wants to give up on each other. The combination of Kagami and Kuroko is impressive, as are Takao and Midorima who are getting better at doing combinations.

Finally, it was Shutoku who won the match practice this time. The two teams saluted each other and then changed their clothes back into uniforms.

Rei was busy tidying up the items that had been used during the match practice, while the others were changing their clothes.

Midorima who had finished changing her clothes helped Rei.

"Midorima-kun, you don't have to help me. I can do it myself." Rei tried to refuse Midorima's help.

"I don't want to help you. I just don't like to see things fall apart." Midorima.

'Still tsundere.' Inner Rei while silently smiling. 'Just try to be more honest.'

As Rei was about to lift the basket filled with basketballs, Midorima stopped him.

"Let me just." Midorima said and took the basket. "Where shall I put it?"

Rei then escorted Midorima to the gym storage room. Midorima then placed the basket in the corner of the room.

"Arigatou, Midorima-kun." Rei said with a smile.

Just as Rei was about to walk out of the room, Midorima suddenly pulled his hand and hugged him. Rei was very surprised, but he did nothing.

"I love you." Midorima whispered but could still be heard by Rei.

'Even Midorima. He who is usually tsundere now actually admits his feelings. I didn't think he'd be more honest with his feelings.' Inner Rei who was trying to neutralize his heartbeat.

Midorima hugged him for a while then let go of his embrace and came out of the storage room first.

Rei then follows Midorima out of the storage room and locks her up.

After that, they got together with their respective teams. Seirin's team then escorts Shutoku's team to the schoolyard.

Rei continues to look towards Midorima until the bus belonging to Shutoku's team leaves to return to their school.

While Kuroko and Kagami realize the direction of Rei's eyes continue to look towards Midorima.

'Why does Rei-san keep looking at Midorima-kun?' Inner Kuroko.
