Forced Marriage: Thirteenth Wife

Forced Marriage: Thirteenth Wife
16. Deal

"You want Elios for your personal benefit, right?"

Roxanne pensively remembers Arkas's words yesterday before he left. Of course Roxanne was stunned yesterday, but Arkas laughed instead.

"It may be silly to hear this, Roxanne, but we Narendra are all great people. Reading your mind through your eyes and expression is as easy as breathing."

Roxanne realizes that Narendra is more dangerous than she thought. "What help do you want?"

"Stopping the increase in the number of Elios' wives," replied Arkas simply. "In short, make him like you."

It was astonishing because by chance Roxanne was thinking the same thing. So coincidentally, Roxanne became suspicious.

"Why me? Why not First Lady?"

"Don't your own existence prove that the Graean can't?"

Roxanne rounded her eyes. Shocked and aware that it is true.

"We Narendra did marry more than one woman. For your information, I have six wives. That's because there's too much work that needs to be done and needs a lot of extra heads" Arkas explained.

"But Elios' case is different. He's not Narendra, so he doesn't need to marry a lot of women."

Roxanne carefully responded. "Why don't you just ban it? Couldn't you order because you're the First Young Master?"

If he could expel Elios, he could forbid Elios from marrying many women.

"I can." Arkas expression was grim at that moment. "But there's a reason why not."

If he doesn't tell me why, it means he won't tell Roxanne.

"After all, I'm not a tyrant, Roxanne. I don't command things without caring about others. My stupid brother needs someone new in his life. So this is a chance for you too."

"Young Master wants to kill me, if you don't know."

"Do I look stupid, son?" Arkas smiled mysteriously at that moment. "There will be no more murders. I can guarantee that. If Elios breaks it, he'll lose something far more important than his own life."

Roxanne could only fall silent when she understood everything.

That Arkas made a deal with Elios just to push Roxanne.

"You're greedy for something Elios has. I guess it's money. And it doesn't matter at all."

Arkas reached into his pocket, taking out a check sheet that left Roxanne wide.

"Wanting something is a good thing. Trying to achieve that is good. I'll give you the money, of course, with your mother, so do your job as best you can."

Arkas said he could send this check to Mom later, on the day Graean sent a gift for the wedding of one of Narendra's children.

"But I still doubt." Roxanne hid the face between her arms. "Why is that person acting so sure? He seems to believe that I'm going to try hard."

The people in this house were very strange and elusive. Roxanne sometimes gets tired of dealing with them herself.

Roxanne spends her time reading Arkas's handbook. There finally written the name Narendra, but it was not very valuable information.

It's all just about how Narendra should behave and how Narendra should live. Regulations such as: Narendra is not politically married to another family; Narendra has no branch family; narendra's daughter is very valuable; things of that kind, essentially.

There's no information about Narendra's family now.

Although Roxanne was quite satisfied because at least she knew a little.

Then, the day came when Graean sent gifts for Narendra's child's wedding. Roxanne went down because she had to ask Graean to send the check to her mother.

"I understand. If this is the First Young Master's gift, it can certainly be sent." Graean smiled briefly. "I'll have your mother write a letter as proof of this being sent to her. Wait a few days."

"Thank you."

Roxanne hurried aside as her business was done. But in front of the main door, he meets Diane instead.

"You seem to be attracting the attention of the First Young Master."

"Pulling too much attention" Roxanne denied. "Me and him just made a deal."

"First Young Master didn't make a deal just like that."

Diane watched the items to be sent continue to be put into mini trucks.

"It's hard to tell what kind of person he is. Good but scary. Humble but crafty. Probably gray."

Roxanne tilted her face. "He's dangerous?"

"Not really. At least, he was the one who placed Narendra above all else. He is the main leader."

"Then?"

Diane looked at him with complicated emotions. "Only, perhaps if an opportunity came, First Young Master was willing to kill Young Master Elios."
