Forced Marriage: Thirteenth Wife

Forced Marriage: Thirteenth Wife
30. Eirene Shadow

Although Arcas had allowed Elios to lie down, he did not allow Elios to be given medicine. The doctor just came to check and tell me what was the problem, and then Arkas told the doctor to come back.

Roxanne already knew from the book that all Narendra, including Arkas himself and even the Big Lady, they did not seek treatment when they were sick. They are only given medicine when they are really dying.

But Roxanne didn't think it was real. The only thing given was extra oxygen. Even the Elios infusion was instantly removed once the pouch ran out.

"Roxanne, I need to talk to you."

Even if Roxanne did not want to talk to Arkas, she obediently followed him out.

They went to another room in the far corner of the hallway. Arkas asked the waiter to come and bring him tea and snacks, as if it was time to relax.

The sight made something inside Roxanne turbulent.

"Didn't you love Young Master Elios?" whispered Roxanne. "You hate him so much?"

The anger in Arkas's eyes always flared uncontrollably whenever he confronted Elios.

If he doesn't like it, he hates it, why is Arkas still wasting his time coming to Elios?

"I don't know."

"Lied." Roxanne clenched her hands over her thighs. "You just don't want to answer."

"Then" Arkas pushed a plate containing pieces of chocolate cake at Roxanne, "I can't help but anger me at the boy. It's up to you to say it's hate or whatever."

He really won't answer.

Roxanne took a breath, resigned as well as calming down. Although she was not in a grave lust, Roxanne still took the cake plate to eat it.

"Thanks to you, everyone hates me."

"I know."

Even though she was sure she knew, Roxanne still could not believe that she was really relaxed about saying it.

"I'm not a good person" Arkas said with a very good smile.

Although then, his smile turned cold. "I did everything in my own judgment. I didn't intentionally harm anyone, but if it was detrimental and I saw it still had to be done, I would still do it."

"I'm that kind of person."

I should have known there were no normal people in this family, Roxanne thought, turning her eyes away.

"Then, what do you want to talk to me about? As much as possible I don't want to get involved with you anymore."

Arkas does not seem to be a soft-hearted person even though he looks like that. Because even though Roxanne was cold to her, she seemed to be unconcerned.

While one hand was holding a teacup, the other one was pushing a small bag of medicinal items.

"That's a hallucinogen."

"I'm sorry?"

"It's drugs that make people hallucinate."

Arkas sipped the tea comfortably, then placed the empty cup onto his plate.

"My own wife made it. The dose is high, so be careful not to give it to anyone other than Elios. The boy downed the poison as a child as Narendra, because it was quite difficult for medicine to work on him."

"Give him a grain every twelve hours."

What's this guy saying?

Why would he have Roxanne give Elios drugs and what does that mean about downing poison?

"You ... told me to kill my husband?"

Arkas instantly blinked. A moment later he even laughed as if it was funny. "I told you it's a hallucinogen. Making hallucinations isn't death."

But he said—

"That would be a big help." Arkas grabbed the fork, cut the cake in a very graceful and well-trained motion.

And it was also so peaceful as if he was not telling his sister's wife to give the medicine secretly.

"Roxanne, Eirene died ten years ago."

The woman flinched.

"But the boy has not forgotten his sister yet. He had not been able to remove Eirene from his mind, even if it had been ten years."

"You mean, I have to—"

"Yes, be Eirene's shadow."

Arkas put on a sad smile. "That's a sad way but it will be quite effective. For a while give it to her and let her think you're Eirene. That way he'll slowly accept you."

Roxanne could only widen her eyes, clenching the medicine firmly in her hands.

Isn't that the same as he said Roxanne has no value to rival Eirene?

Even if he's a dead man?!
