Forced Marriage: Thirteenth Wife

Forced Marriage: Thirteenth Wife
29. Finally Free

This was the second time Elios had a fever. Roxanne could only be silent from the corner of the Graean room and Elios' more senior wives handled it.

For Roxanne, this was the first time she had seen Elios' wives besides Diane and Mariana. They are called specifically by Graean to help Elios who suddenly loses his ability to breathe.

"Add to the oxygen pressure" Graean ordered while holding a breathing apparatus around Elios' nose and mouth. "Naviah, attach the infusion to Young Master's arm. Install additional restraints as well."

All of those people moved nimbly to deal with Elios while Roxanne could only see.

It's incredible mental pressure. Every corner of the house is like blaming Roxanne and whispering to her the sentence that she will never be forgiven.

"Young Master, I know it hurts but control your breathing. Please don't scare us."

Elios kept breathing intermittently. He was not whipped or physically tortured, but being at the stake for a month turned out to be a torture in itself for him.

It all went on for a long time. Feels very, very long. And the pressure on Roxanne is also getting heavier and heavier.

Until then ....

"Madam, First Young Master arrives."

Roxanne flinched as Elios' wives knelt down, bringing their eyebrows closer to the floor.

"Please take care of your punishment," Graean pinta in a half-shaking tone, as if she was ready to cry loudly.

"Please. Please, Young Master. For once in my lifetime, I implore you deeply. If this is the last request, please. If I have to replace him, I'm willing to give up your punishment."

Roxanne was too shocked and too depressed over the situation that she was the only one not on her knees. Perhaps, in anyone's eyes it was precisely Roxanne's arrogance.

But he really doesn't know what to do. He also wanted to ask that this law be revoked.

Justjust please. Everyone hates Roxanne more and more every second.

Arcas looked at Elios's kneeling wives, almost prostrating, to him. Even in Narendra, having someone prostrate is forbidden.

But they did it of their own accord for the sake of Elios.

"My stupid brother had a good wife" Arkas said, sounding disappointed.

The man passed by those who did not move and probably would not move until Arkas gave permission.

Arkas approached Elios's penalty post, seeing that his condition was indeed quite bad.

"I really like to look down on you, Foolish Brother."

Roxanne.

And his heart stopped beating as Elios muttered, "I can't stop."

Elios' voice sounded very weak. It was as if he was tired and sick. But what he said was just the opposite.

"Eri likes me, Arkas."

A moment later Roxanne screamed hysterically.

I don't know what Elios said, but it provoked Arkas to hit him. Roxanne quickly ran up to them, stretching out her arms as a protector to Elios.

Can't do. If he were to be further tortured, he would die and if Elios died, Roxanne would be a useless person in this world.

"Don't."

Arkas gasped to see the woman Elios had strangled standing before him, revealing tears of fear as if she could die if Elios were hurt more severely.

"Don't you come to forgive Young Master?" roxanne said trembling. "You must have come for it. So please stop."

From behind Roxanne came the faint sound of people laughing.

Roxanne knew it was Elios. Maybe she laughed at him for protecting her, when he shouldn't have.

But not about that. Roxanne's life depended on Elios.

".... I feel crazy every time I see this kid, Roxanne." Arkas's hand was stretched out, apparently desperate to strangle Elios even though Roxanne was protecting him.

As Roxanne was already very frightened by it, Arkas suddenly stopped his hand in midair, then pulled the hand back.

His eyes now look sad. "I made you cry for a long time. It's my responsibility."

He said that to Roxanne, but it was upon all of Elios' wives, especially those on their knees.

"All right, stop crying. It's not you who have to take away the sins of this child." Arkas. "Graean, stand. Free this fool."
