Two weeks has now changed to three weeks. Roxanne could only watch as Elios seemed to take a breath and throw it away regularly, continuously.
For a moment he lowered his head, letting his head just get held back by the shackles on his neck. Then he looked up, leaning his head against the backrest, staring at the ceiling of the room.
But, one strange thing.
When all the wives of Elios and even the servants were agitated at their master's punishment, Elios himself never complained.
Even when his mother came, Elios never mentioned his release.
It was as if he never cared.
"Your expression has become very attractive over time, Roxanne." Elios who never spoke suddenly turned to Roxanne.
The young woman held her breath with a smile on Elios' lips.
"What's wrong? You having nightmares? Tell me. I'm bored."
He knows everything.
Even when Graean never told him, he knew that Roxanne was getting enmity as a result of this.
Instead of caring about when he is free, Elios seems to care more about how he enjoys his anger at Roxanne.
".... Actually why?"
Elios squinted, not hearing too much. "What?"
"In fact why do you hate me?" Although Roxanne was suppressed by various emotions, her eyes were now not emitting hatred or fear.
That's power. Something slowly formed from it over time stayed in this place.
"You're not a cruel man."
"What are you talking about confidently?"
"Because you didn't touch your other wife."
Roxanne decided to get out of the chair. During these three weeks, Roxanne sat there for almost twenty-four hours.
At first he only stayed until night, but now Roxanne only went to shower and eat once a day, then the rest sat watching.
He was not punished by the Graeans. No one is bothering him either. But Roxanne, who punishes herself, forbids her from eating more than once so that in the future she will not make this foolishness again.
He can't make mistakes that hurt himself anymore.
"You are not a cruel man, for eight of your wives are still alive."
If this guy is a psychopath, then why didn't he go downstairs and slaughter his wife? Why was it left alive and only four were killed?
Is there a reason they were all left alive when Elios didn't like it?
So far, the only ones working on behalf of Elios are Graean. He said wives from ordinary people and not the ranch are prohibited from interfering, in order to maintain the confidentiality of Narendra.
In other words, other than the Graeans, Elios' other wives were useless. In the least bit useless.
But he didn't kill them. In fact, the ones he killed were four from the farm.
"You didn't kill them for no reason. You don't hurt someone for no reason."
Of course, that doesn't mean the reason can be justified. But from Roxanne's point of view as one who seeks a way of life, not who is right who is wrong and who is just who is evil, what matters is that.
The fact that there is a reason. As long as the reason is not there, Elios does not hurt anyone.
"What was my fault?"
Now, Elios looked at him expressionlessly.
"What do you hate about me, Young Master? To the point that you're acting differently on me?"
Elios was silent for a moment, but a moment later the man grinned.
"I grew up in an arrogant family, you know? When I was a child, my mother used to say that Narendra was the greatest man in the world. No matter how the world admits it or not."
What was he talking about all of a sudden? Roxanne solemnly asked because she had to know—
"But your arrogance is not as beautiful as Narendra's vanity." Elios raised his chin, smiling condescendingly. "What's so special about you that I have to have a reason not to like?"
No excuses, I just don't like it. Thats whatmeans.
Roxanne's hands were clenched. His face was slightly heated by the deep embarrassment.
At least he did not intend to talk that it was because he was special that he was hated. But Elios actually returned it with a different intent.
"Young Master, I—"
"People think I'm different." Elios seemed to tremble with his own laughter. "People always think that I don't value my bloodline, but my dear wife, I love my blood as Narendra."
Elios smiled with sincerity.
"I can't possibly love a woman who isn't Narendra, so a pest like you should be self-conscious."
