Forced Marriage: Thirteenth Wife

Forced Marriage: Thirteenth Wife
25. The Unjust World

It's been two days that Roxanne served Elios at his stake. On the first day Roxanne served, to be honest she had no pity at all.

Why would he care about someone who strangles him? In fact, Roxanne was probably quite content to see him punished this way.

But after two days, Roxanne becomes uncomfortable because Elios is still there.

Still in a standing position, still in a position like a crucified person, even when he was sleeping though. The only time it was released was when Elios had to go to the restroom, and only three times a day accompanied by the Graeans.

I felt very unsettled, Roxanne looked at Elios' pale face. He also seems to have a fever. There must be a punishment that is much easier to do than this.

So Roxanne said to Graean at noon. Of course, not in front of Elios.

"When did Young Master's sentence end?"

There was a frown on Graean's forehead as if he was thinking about something painful. "Until First Young Master allows."

"It could be that First Young Master forgot. Letting the Young Master linger there, especially without top clothes as well, he could get even sicker."

"Then now you understand?"

Roxanne jerks.

"This is what happened, because of you."

Roxanne's hands were clenched. She thought Graean had forgiven her, but she still had anger.

"I know." Roxanne admitted it. "I made a mistake. Therefore I—"

"First Young Master is not a forgetful." Graean. "He remembers clearly. But it's not time yet. If you understand, keep your mouth shut and just look at the results of your actions. That way you'll learn."

Roxanne can only bite her tongue. There was a corner of his heart that hurt thinking that this was also because Elios was strangling him. If he hadn't strangled Roxanne, he wouldn't have been punished.

But ....

But maybe that's just an excuse. I mean, Arkas' reason for punishing Elios.

Not because Arkas cared for Roxanne or appreciated her as a woman, but because she needed a reason to strangle Elios back.

"I did something wrong. I'm sorry." Roxanne muttered as she attached the blanket to Elios' body while he slept. "Unlike me, many will get angry if you get a little hurt. So I hope you're cured soon."

The world is unfair, so Roxanne doesn't want to be sad about it.

The priority now is to take care of Elios while he waits for his sentence to end.

It'll be a minute.

Roxanne's sure this won't last—

"Everybody hates you now."

Roxanne could only stare blankly at the food in front of her. He was not pensive because of Diane's words but because ... because ....

"It's been two weeks. Young Master is still being punished for you." Diane said it very calmly. "Even it seems that First Madam has also been very upset?"

".... Yeah." yeah." Roxanne answered trembling. "She .. has been ignoring me since last week."

"That's what happened" Diane murmured. "You must have noticed it too. Young Master's wives are angry that he is being punished, even if the Young Master behaves badly."

"It's because of self-esteem. The Young Master is a symbol of the pride of this house. As soon as he is humbled, it is the same that you demean other wives."

It seemed like this was truly a life lesson that Roxanne had never experienced.

No one remembers Roxanne being strangled. All were angry that Elios had been punished so long by Arkas.

But Roxanne herself began not to remember the giggles. For every day, every morning, day, night, even midnight and before morning, all he saw was Elios shackled at the stake.

It's making Roxanne depressed. And the more depressed one house, even the waiter, began to look at her as if Roxanne was a nuisance.

"Don't you hate me?" roxanne's murmur was trembling. Just a little hoping because only Diane still sees him.

But ....

"I hate you."

Roxanne's growing empty.

"I was also injured because Young Master was punished. And Roxanne, you're compensated for the injuries from Young Master right, but .. we lost the opportunity to be compensated because Young Master was locked up."

Roxanne's afraid.

"I hate you too. Only, if no one explains, you will behave more and more foolishly. That's why I have to keep talking to you."
