4. A Tradition

"Roxanne's."

The call from the foreign voice addressed to her instantly made Roxanne turn away. He was surprised to find that he was one of Elios' eight wives at the main door yesterday, but Roxanne immediately put on a watchful face.

Madam says don't get in touch with Elios' other wives. And Elios says live like you never lived.

Roxanne won't be looking for trouble even if it's just a speck.

"Sorry." The girl turned around, continuing her steps. "I'm on business so I'll go first."

But the woman prevented it. "You picked the wrong room. It's not a room for Young Master's wife."

Roxanne's frozen.

"Young Master's wife's room all had bathrooms. If your room doesn't exist, then it's not his wife's room. I'll show you."

Why would he do that? Didn't you say not to be on good terms with each other?

Roxanne was hesitant and afraid, but she was having trouble finding a bathroom. This place was so vast that it felt like it would not be found where the bathroom was.

"I'm not going to hurt you. I came because there's something obligatory to tell you to remember."

The woman noticed Roxanne's facial features.

"If being vigilant is good, being too timid is not good. So come with me first."

His words forced Roxanne to come along. They stepped up to the next floor, turning into a corridor that seemed to be very long until it finally stopped in front of a large room door.

The woman opened it, revealing a luxurious room so spacious, complete with a bathing area placed directly near her mattress.

"Sleep here."

Roxanne couldn't believe that she was given a room of this size for a worthless woman.

"Isn't this too fancy?" the question was to make sure, afraid that Elios would be disturbed.

"Luxury?" The woman frowned. "It resembles a waiter's room but is slightly larger. This is the only place for the wife of the Young Master from the common people. It's not fancy."

Not fancy? The standard of human luxury in this place is not at the Roxanne level.

What exactly do ordinary people mean? And what was that man from the farm that Elios said?

"Why are you being nice?" Roxanne did not welcome the helping hand, asking cautiously. "Why are you talking to me? Madam already told me that—"

"Do I look good?"

Roxanne jerks.

"This is tradition. First Lady—ah, I mean the first wife of the Young Master who ordered her. We tell each other the situation so as not to make a fuss out of ignorance."

"I'll answer the biggest question in you." Diane folded her hands without mentioning how Roxanne refused to shake hands. "Why are there so many wives here?"

"It's a Narendra tradition. Every Narendra man marries many women because of their work that requires a lot of help. But, normally Narendra only marries women from their farms."

"Women raised by Narendra themselves became obedient slaves to them. First wife, second wife, third wife, fourth wife and fifth wife Young Master are all from the farm."

Roxanne doesn't understand why but in one place, she doesn't feel like hearing this.

"But the second wife until the fourth wife, all are dead. Young Master killed them."

Why, was the next Roxanne question, but he did not dare to ask and just quietly listened.
