episode 105 Meet
I was surprised to hear Refald suddenly speak like that. I don't know why I find it funny the way Refald jokes with me.
“You're being funny?” I laughed at Refald's face. “Oke, this is so funny. At a time like this, you can still take me on a joke.” I still laughed as Refald seriously looked at me so that my laughter subsided by itself. “Why do you see me like that?” I was a bit awkward to look at that as well.
“I'm not kidding, Honey. I'm serious, we both .. should get married right now, if not .. then .. you and I will really die.” Refald's voice sounded sad and soul-shaking. Not because of her sweet voice, but because of the meaning behind what she said to me.
This is a perfect surprise. How not? Some time ago, I was standing on the verge of death that I could never have imagined before. After I came to my senses, Refald assured me that I was alive and well, as if the death I had just faced had never happened, but now, Refald frightened me again with a death statement stating that if we do not get married soon, then we will both die. It's really not funny, it's not very funny.
Once again I convinced myself that what Refald said was never wrong. He will not lie or mispronounce. If Refald had said that, it would have been true, we would both have to get married.
“Explain to me, why should we get married right now and why would we die if we didn't? What's the matter?” I asked as I continued to stare at Refald's face.
“We don't have much time Honey, we get married first and I'll explain all the reasons. And also ..our marriage is different from other people's marriages in general. You have to meet someone before our wedding starts, come on! Come with me.” Refald stood up without turning his eyes away from me. I also followed his body.
Without excuse, Refald carried me and walked out. I just realized that we are in a cave. However, this was not the same cave we had encountered while sheltering in the forest. Goa is much more moist, dark and also wider. But strangely, every time Refald walked down the street, a candle-like glimmer of light lit up by itself on every wall of the cave we passed. This place is truly magical.
All the way I just kept holding Refald while continuing to see my fiancee who would soon become my husband. He kept looking straight ahead without even looking at me, as if there were so many things he was thinking about. I realized, maybe Refald was also much more depressed than I was despite all the crazy things we had just experienced to the point of risking both of our lives.
It's the first time I've seen Refald put on such a serious face, and I don't know what I have to do now to get him to smile back at me. I really miss Refald's smile, because by looking at his smile, I feel like all the problems I'm facing are light.
“Re ... um, dear. You mad at me?” ask me to break the silence at once to find out if she's mad at me or not. To be honest I was also very afraid that Refald was really mad at me.
“No, Honey. I'm angry, but not at you, but at myself.” Refald stopped at a door. Slowly, he dropped me off and I stood next to him. Refald clasped my hand tightly and said,“I'm sorry Honey, for the sake of saving both of our lives, I've made a pact that forces you to marry me even though I know you're not ready. I didn't expect it to be this fast either, but there was no other choice. Inevitably, agree disagree, like it or not, you must marry me right now.” Refald's voice trembled, he must feel guilty to me for having to make such a complex decision without asking for my approval first.
Right now, there's nothing I can tell him. I myself do not know how to deal with this situation. To be married at the age of 18 was strange to me, because I had to sacrifice my youth and my precious ideals. What kind of marriage we're going to have, I don't know. However, one thing I must believe now, whatever Refald is doing now, is all for my own good.
A door that was in front of us, slowly opened along with a bright light that shone on the two of us. For a moment, I tried to adapt to the light so that I could see everything inside. I was also curious, who was the person I should meet before we got married.
As soon as the door opened wide, Refald took my hand into the room. I was very surprised because it turned out we entered a magnificent palace in the cave.
“Refald, where are we?” I whispered softly to Refald while watching the surroundings.
“Our wedding party,” replied Refald slowly as well. We both walked straight down the long red carpet in front of us. For some reason, my heart trembled at Refald's short answer.
Faintly, I saw that there was an unusually large and elegant throne made of layers of gold and diamonds. In addition, around us there are also many guards and palace ladies lined up neatly in his place. My mouth was unceasingly gaping at the sight of this immeasurable miracle.
Is this the model palace of the ancients? Magnificent, luxurious and also outside can be amazing. Their palace clothes were also different to what I had imagined all along. They wear clothes made of silk, and also do not show their body parts. Most of the ladies have their hair carried like a Javanese bride in general. While the male bodyguard wears a full royal uniform and only wears a headband made of royal gold. They were all armed with spears and armor made of steel. As for their looks, nothing is not charming, everything is perfect, beautiful and handsome.
“Welcome to my palace, my grandson!” greet someone who stands on the throne of the kingdom.
I stared at the old man who also kept staring at us alternately. He is the king of this palace. I could see from his thicker and nicer clothes than the others. He just doesn't wear a crown.
The man walked straight towards us who were standing straight facing him. I swallowed my saliva as the king got closer to us.
Is this man Refald's grandfather? My inner.
“Grandfather,” Refald's greeting who immediately rested in front of the person he called grandfather. At first I was surprised by Refald's sudden actions like that, but I followed his movements.
The king took one of our shoulders and told us to get back up. “Build my grandson, glad to see you again, and you .. my grandson's bride.” The king turned to look at me. “Finally we can meet in person.”
It was hard to describe how I felt at this moment, a sense of amazement, fear, curiosity, trembling and also pleasure, all mixed into one and I could not digest the situation I was in. Where am I, and who is this guy? Will Refald and I really get married in a place like this? All those questions kept ringing in my head without daring
asking answers.
