episode 58 The True Feelings
“Are you ready? We'll be down now.” Refald looked at me to confirm my readiness, because he seemed to know what I was feeling right now.
I was still stunned, unable to speak, between doubt, and fear.
“Quiet, Honey. There I am with you. You don't be afraid anymore okay.” Refald touched my cheek gently and then he turned to the side of the cliff to check the roots of the tree we held down the cliff.
I just kept quiet to see it. I can't say anything, because I don't know what to say either. I was a bit nervous actually, but seeing that Refald was now with me, as much as I could try to eliminate my fear and face all these difficulties together with him.
Refald squatted behind me. “Get onto my back and hold tight, yes! We're going down now,” Refald said after he made sure all the ropes were securely and firmly installed.
I nodded and held my hand around Refald's neck tightly. I'm sure Refald could hear the sound of my heartbeat, because as soon as he stood up Refald immediately put his sweet smile behind his handsome face.
We also began to go down the cliff using the roots of a tree bush that is no less thick than the karmenter rope. It's just that, these roots are still overgrown with green leaves that cover the surface so that makes Refald can not quickly down the cliff due to being blocked by the leaves that grow.
For 20 minutes we hung under the cliff. The more down, the waterfall that flows beside us, the more swift the flow so that it makes our clothes both soaked. Fortunately, we still both wear a fairly thick jacket specifically for the climbers so that we can still survive the exposure of the swift details of the waterfall that waters us mercilessly.
The 20 minutes felt very long and full of tension, but we finally arrived at the bottom of the abyss without experiencing many obstacles. I was relieved and amazed by the struggle of Refald who was willing to do anything to keep me safe with him. I can't describe how I feel right now, which is why I'm so grateful to my fiance for taking me down the cliff without getting seriously hurt. I don't know what I would be like right now if Refald didn't come on time.
It did not feel like we had even reached the bottom of a fairly deep abyss as well. As soon as Refald's foot landed on the ground, Refald immediately lowered me. I scanned the entire cliff area and was amazed to see what was in front of my eyes. I still can't believe that Refald and I can go down this deep cliff with living conditions without any abrasions.
This is really amazing. That deep abyss we've managed to cross together. I really can't believe it. Maybe even others would not believe we could both go down this cliff empty-handed without any safety.
“We have reached Honey, you can breathe a sigh of relief,” said Refald while washing his face with river water beside us. “Ahhh .. fresh once.” Refald wagged his hair wet with water.
Refald just silently held the back of my hand that was still coiled above his stomach and around his waist. Refald slowly pulled my hand and turned his body to face me and we hugged each other.
“Anytime, Honey .. you’re my life now. I promised you that I would always protect you even if I had to risk my own life.” Refald returned my embrace tightly.
I was more and more moved to hear the words of Refald. We hugged each other and got swept away in our feelings each under the swiftness of the waterfall that kept showering us with water grains like rainwater that came down from the sky.
I don't care if I'm wet or not, which is why I'm so happy because we're going to be out of here any minute and start having good days together. No more tears ..no more sadness, only laughter and happiness.
“Let's go from here, it's getting late. You're not planning on spending the night here, are you?” Slowly Refald let go of his embrace and clasped tightly onto my hand.
“How about we stay in the middle of the forest, should we spend the night here? Until the dawn arrives?”
“Ehmmm .. This place is indeed very beautiful Honey, if it is during the day, but it will be very different if you see it at night. I'm not sure you'd say the same thing if we stayed here overnight. I don't think that's a good idea.”
I was a little confused by the meaning of Refald's words and I was lazy to figure out the meaning of his words. I looked at the place around me. Very quiet, too quiet. Maybe it's because the day has started at night, so the atmosphere is different from the time during the day.
Is this place really creepy at night? It feels impossible if a place as beautiful as this becomes spooky if the day has changed. But, so far what Refald said is always true and he knows very well the ins and outs of nature that he came to.
