Maybe what Refald said was true. This is destiny. Destiny has separated us all along, and fate has brought us back together. I don't think about all this. My life is played with by destiny. But, as my father said, no one can resist or change the destiny that has been outlined to someone. Including my own destiny.
I looked at the photo that Refald gave me. Trying to recall that time, I never thought that the person I helped and who helped me was Refald. And he turned out to be my fiancee too!
Starting from the holiday season last semester, it was mid-December. I decided to go to the city of Surabaya to find some reference books that I need and look for my friends' favorite films.
I went alone, unaccompanied by anyone. Too brave for a girl traveling alone at my young age. How else would you like? I choose to live alone. So, I decided to do what I wanted to do alone. Like driving away boredom by traveling alone.
To get to the city of Surabaya, the first thing I did was go to the terminal in the city center and park my scooter there. Then, I took a bus to Surabaya.
It didn't take long to reach the second largest city in the country. In just 45 minutes, I've set foot in this town. After getting off from Purabaya terminal, I immediately took a taxi to Gramedia. It is so much fun to spend time alone around this city. I take this as my entertainment because I can't go back to Japan until I graduate.
Even though I miss my family so much, I can't see them. Because I still can't handle my sadness. So every time I go on vacation, I spend my time exploring the city in this country alone. Whether it's just to find a book or just a culinary hunt.
I cannot invite my friends, because my identity that I have been hiding meetings can be revealed if they know I can travel alone without experiencing any obstacles.
They'll know who I really am if I take them. It would be very painful for me because they would ask me a lot about my past and why I came here. That's what I've been avoiding them all along.
After finding the books I was looking for, I tried out for a distro that sold different types of movies. It didn't take long to find some of my friends' favorite DVD tapes.
“They must be happy to see this film!” mummify slowly.
After paying for everything, I looked for a place I could use to relax while enjoying lunch. Sometimes I read the books I bought in Gramedia. I don't think I've spent four hours here. I think it's time I got to get back home before work is over. Because the streets are crowded at such hours.
I waited for a taxi in front of the bus stop. There are people around me who are just like me. The bus in the city was near and the people around me began to prepare to board as soon as it stopped in front of them.
One by one people went up in turns, until the last person I saw accidentally dropped his wallet. That person was the man who was standing next to me from earlier while busy calling using a language I did not understand. Apparently, it's Korean and there's a mix of German. The German-Korean bulldozer's purse fell right under my feet, so I reflexively picked it up and intended to return it.
Damn, the bus was already running, I had to run after him. I screamed out loud hoping the bus would hear me and stop for a while so I could return the wallet to the owner. But again I was unlucky, the bus did not hear my voice. Luckily there was a taxi passing in front of me and I immediately stopped the taxi.
I asked the taxi driver to follow the bus in the city. I'm sure the bus will stop at the next stop. So, in order to catch the bus, I asked the taxi driver to take a shortcut to get to the next stop, considering the road was very crowded.
My guess is correct. The destination of the bus was indeed the next stop, which was located about two kilometers from the previous stop. Shortly after I got off the taxi at this stop, a bus in the city appeared and stopped to drop off passengers. I got on that bus and searched the owner of this black wallet.
Earlier in the taxi, I opened this wallet to find the identity card of the owner. I found his identification and saw his picture. I tried to memorize the face of the owner of the wallet and started looking for it while I was on the bus.
I finally found the owner of this leather wallet. He sat in the back seat while playing his phone and wearing his airphone. The bus started walking again. I slowly approached her and immediately thrust the wallet right in front of her face.
At first the man was surprised by my attitude which I admitted, somewhat disrespectful.
“It's your wallet! It fell in front of Royal!” my words explain what I'm doing.
He looked at me who was also looking at him. Then he picked up the wallet I gave him while saying, “Thank you.”
As soon as he received the wallet I immediately turned back and stood in front of the bus exit. When the door opened, I immediately came down and realized that I did not know where I was.
“Good! Now it's my turn to get lost!” I muttered to myself.
Fortunately, there are still many taxis that pass here. So that I can ask one of the taxis to take me back to the terminal Purabaya so that I can quickly go home.
But it seems, my adventure is still not finished here. The taxi driver who took me was not a good person. He took me somewhere quiet and away from the crowd. The taxi driver tried to mean something to me. He forced me to give up all the possessions I had brought along, such as my phone and wallet.
“If I don't want to! What are you gonna do?” I tried to fight back, I showed this criminal that I was not at all afraid of his threat.
“How dare you, huh? You're looking to die apparently, but your face is too pretty if I finish it right away! Let's play around for a while.”
He tried to get close to me but I immediately kicked his vitals very hard. He groans in pain while cursing. I used that opportunity to run away and seek help. But it seems like I was in an improper environment. No one will be able to help me here.
This is the neighborhood the robbers and begal are living in. The taxi driver seemed to be one of the members. He disguised himself as a taxi driver and brought his target here to be robbed and killed. I don't know how many victims they have fallen prey to.
I did manage to get out of that taxi, but I had to face some robbers and scruples that surrounded me. Today I'm really unlucky, it's called getting out of the crocodile cage, getting into the lion's den!
“Oh.... there is a new prey apparently, beautiful anyway!” said someone who looks like the leader of this herd of robbers.
The taxi driver I kicked out was still in a staggering state.
“Just finish him Boss!” he asked before he finally fainted.
The person called the boss and some of his comrades were stunned to see one of his accomplices toppled over.
“What did you do to my men!” shouted the robber leader.
“If you want to know! Comehere! I'll tell you!” I answered without feeling any fear.
People like them should be taught lessons and appropriate punishment. I'm going to beat them all out here!
The man got closer and tried to attack me. But I managed to fend off all his attacks and counter their attacks by kicking the criminals' vital tools like I did to his friend. The kick was so loud that it also screamed in pain. It didn't take long, and the robber passed out too.
The leader looked very angry to see his partner lying in front of me. He pulled out his small knife and shouted command to the others to attack me at the same time.
I also started to prepare for them all. I'll get out all the taekwondo I can.
When some people were about to attack me, suddenly someone came to confront them and threw a few blows to the face so that they all fell down together. It happened so fast. I myself could not see exactly how the person who was blocking them just did it.
But those criminals could still stand up and attack that person again. Wily the men repelled all their attacks and beat them back one by one until their bodies were all battered.
The man stood firm, but he was attacked by about six to seven men simultaneously. But he managed to defeat them all.
“Waaauwww! Kerennn!” I secretly admired him in my heart.
I heard police car sirens and rushed to escape. I don't want to deal with the police at this time. They will definitely interrogate me and ask my true identity. I don't want any of that to happen.
Without any warning, I left the criminals and the men behind. They were busy fighting but I ran as fast as possible to find a way out of here as soon as possible to get to the main road in order to take a bus to the terminal Purabaya.
“Ahhhhh .. shit!! I should have gotten home by now! Why are you stuck here?" I was still busy running.
I kept running and running away from the location. But unfortunately, I don't know this area. So, I'm getting lost.
When I got to the crossroads, suddenly someone pulled on the sleeve of my blue jeans jacket. The pull of his very strong hand made me unable to hold my balance so I fell right in front of someone who pulled me. I was surprised to find out who that person was.
“You all right?” ask the guy who turned out to be the owner of the wallet I found earlier. And that guy helped me beat up those thugs.
“I let go of his embrace. “Iya! I'm all right! Thank you!”
“I'll take you. Come with me!”
“I can go alone!” I walked straight away from this stranger. This incident made me more vigilant than before.
Actually, I can handle those criminals myself. But I was forced to flee because I couldn't get to the police.
“You're in the wrong direction. That's not the way to the main road!” his yell.
I stopped my steps for a moment, and observed my surroundings. This area is too quiet for a village. There's no one here.
Suddenly he pulled my hand again and led me on the right path. Arriving on the main road, we both got into a taxi and headed to the terminal Purabaya. Primary purpose.
Along the way, we just kept quiet without talking to each other. That incident made me awkward. He also did not want to get involved with the police. That's why he followed me to escape.
We did not even get to the terminal. I got off after saying thank you to him.
“Now we are even! Thank you for returning my wallet!” he said before I left. I just nodded slowly and then closed the taxi door which immediately shot away.
I immediately took the bus and returned to the terminal where my scooter was parked. And I finally got home safely.
The next day, I got together with my friends at Mia's house and gave them their favorite movie.
Those are the memories of my vacation at the time. I just remembered the name of the owner of the wallet I found.
His name is A. Refald Dilagara's. It was Refald's full name. As long as I was with her, I never knew her full name. But now, I've remembered everything.
I smiled to myself with this funny fate, only to realize that the man was actually Refald. My fiancee is also the one I love. It was strange to know that I was in love with my own fiancee.
I looked at the picture of me that Refald gave me. Apparently, this picture was taken as I stood at the door of a bus in town after I returned the wallet.
“It looks like he photographed me secretly without my knowledge!” I muttered to myself. I never thought I could meet a stranger again. No one can guess the fate of a person.
“Fey!” shouted someone who was none other than Yoshi, my senior.
“Iya, Brother?” I got out of the tent to meet my senior and hurriedly stuffed my photo into my jacket pocket. “What's up?”
“Someone's looking for you!”
I'm appalled. “Times like this, who's looking for me?”
“I don't know either! You better meet him. That guy is there.” Yoshi pointed at the person wearing the black jacket standing behind me.
I walked towards the person waiting for me at the entrance where we were camping. As I approached her, I was surprised because that person was ... Refald!
