Episode 97 The Lost Power
“What are you doing in a place like this? Semedy?” I asked from behind Refald's back.
Refald nodded. “Ehm, how did you know? Did Kun tell you?” Refald came down from the boulder and walked up to me.
“I'm just guessing, there's not much Kun talked about with me. Looks like he's very obedient to you.” I was pretty upset with Refald because he didn't come to see me.
“Looks like you're used to it, you're not afraid anymore.”
“His face is so pretty, how could I be afraid of her. I'm just envious of how beautiful she is.” My frustration grew because Refald preferred to talk about his men rather than quell my frustration.
Wait, there's something strange about Refald. Obviously he should have known that I was upset with him. All the way I always cursed him. Why didn't he defend himself and explain that my frustration with him was gone? Why did he switch the conversation? Let alone him .. My mind is troubled to think that at this time, Refald does not use his power anymore. To be more precise, his strength was gone just as I had expected.
Without warning Refald immediately landed his lips on mine, which surprised me.
“For me, you are the most beautiful woman I have ever seen. There is no reason for you to envy anyone. You understand?” Refald looked me in the eye so much that it made me nervous.
Turns out I was wrong, Refald always knew what I was thinking. But, still I feel something strange, my inner self.
I don't know why my upset feelings suddenly go away when I'm with Refald. A sense of security, pleasure and calm always enveloped me whenever there was a Refald by my side. “How about you? You owe me an explanation. Ma'am Kun said you would explain everything that happened,” urged me.
“Let's get out of here. Don't let the villain find us.”Refald still did not explain.
I understood and walked forward and put my arms around Refald's neck.
“What are you doing?” refald asked confused by my attitude.
“It's clear, right? Aren't you going to carry me as you normally would so we can get out of this forest quickly? You've forgotten your time?” I reminded Refald. He just kept staring at me.
“Honey, this time I can't carry you.” Refald held both of my hands around his neck and held them tightly. “But I can hold your hand, like this.” Refald showed me his hand, which was holding my hand, and led me along the bank of the river.
“Hah? What the hell does this mean? Why don't you just run? Aren't you strong? Your running speed can speed us up out of the woods."
“I want to be with you longer.” I know he's trying to evade. Again I thought that my guess of the lost power of Refald was correct.
“We are always alone everywhere. There must be something you're hiding from me. Tell me what's up? Don't tell me your power's gone again?” my guess.
Refald was silent as if he was thinking something.
“Honey, we are currently in great danger. Your guess is right, I lost my powers because I was too angry when you kidnapped those criminals. I know they hurt you too. But I couldn't do anything at the time. Lucky my army can still protect us. Only, they would only appear after evening came. Now, it's almost morning and before the criminal finds us, we have to get out of here. Do you understand?” refald asked with a solemn expression as if he was knowing something bad.
“What is this Refald? It seems like they did kidnap me on purpose and it's all because they wanted something from you. Who're they? Why are they after you? What have you done?” I am worried and curious at the same time. Not because of Refald's lost power, but because I was worried about the safety of my fiancee who was suddenly targeted by dangerous criminal gangs.
“Surely about the flash we found in the forest at that time. Don't worry, nothing will happen to me. We'll be fine as soon as we get out of here.”
“You're not entertaining me.”
“Why should I?”
“Ehm, Honey. All my strength was gone and I became a normal human like everyone else now. So, during the day, I'm counting on you. But at night, you can count on me. Just like the first time we met, you saved me from the rampage of that pack of ferocious bulls, you remember. That's when I started to get interested in you.”
Refald really embarrassed me to remember that incident. “I threw away your limited edition jacket,” I told Refald and walked slowly leaving him first. He laughed considering the events of that time.
Refald ran normally after me and now we both go hand in hand. He held my hand tightly. “Are you happy now?” refald asked while watching me who was looking straight ahead.
“What's the problem?” flat answer.
“You have a normal fiancee now.”
“No, I'm not happy. I'd rather you be a Refald like Edward! Although I couldn't believe it at first, but honestly, I'm getting used to the other side of your life being abnormal. It feels strange that now I have to live my normal life again while waiting for your strength to return.” I don't know if my tone of voice sounds sad or not, which I'm obviously ashamed to admit. I took off Refald's hand and walked first leaving Refald behind.
At least, at the moment Refald does not know what I am thinking, there is a silver lining if his strength is lost, even if the time is not right, I murmured in my heart.
“What are you thinking? You're disappointed in me because my power is gone? You compare me to Edward again? Looks like the story really poisoned your brain, huh?” refald grumbled from behind my back.
I didn't break Refald's rant and kept going in front of him. Refald himself followed me from behind without speaking. Somehow I was happy to walk with Refald even though he said we were in great danger.
Good thing, now I can think whatever I want, because Refald can no longer hear my thoughts. Asyeeeek. Hihihi, my shoulders are up and down because I am smiling by myself. My brain can now think whatever I want without worrying about what Refald knows.
“Why are you smiling by yourself?” refald asked from behind my back.
“It's okay,” I replied sewot.
Suddenly, it rained heavily, and soaked all my clothes. Refald immediately ran with my hand and took me to shelter under a shady tree, but still we were rained. Refald closed his eyes as if he were talking to something I didn't know. “Sial!” detestation later. She saw me getting cold and took off her jacket and put it on my shoulder to make me feel warm.
“How about you? You can also get sick if you get wet like that.
“Don't worry about me, Honey. I have a stronger physique than you. Come closer to me, so that your body feels warm.” Refald took me into his arms. “I'm sorry for getting you involved in this. My calculations are undercooked. Looks like I have to hone my skills even better so as not to involve you in danger,” muttered while kissing my forehead.
I didn't really understand what Refald was saying, so I just kept quiet. He looks really upset right now.
“What will we do? It rained so hard?” I looked up at the face of my fiancee who was somehow much more handsome when all her body was wet.
“There's a cave around here, we're going there,” Refald said as he scanned around.
“How did you know? Isn't your power gone?”
“Someone told me, I did lose my power, but my eyes can still see those dedemites here. They tell us. Come on, let's get out of here,” Refald took me running while covering my head with his jacket towards the cave so that we could take shelter there.
