episode 25 Surprise

I went into the room with the food that Refald had brought when he came here. Frankly, with the incident earlier, I became awkward myself when faced with Yua. Fortunately Yua is not the type of person who likes to interfere in the personal affairs of others so that the awkwardness can disappear by itself. That's why he became my best friend who understood me the most.

“Eat Yua, Since you have not eaten,” I said when I got to the door. I gave all the food I brought to Yua.

The girl got up from her bed and opened the food I gave her. “You must be very happy today. Now I know .. You like it too, you love each other,” Yua said with a smile. I know he tried to tease me.

“Not so, Yua .. the incident was so fast, all is not as you think.”

“Fey, we're not kids anymore. Without saying anything, your eyes and body language have shown that you love each other, you can not deny it.”

I was silent for a moment. “You're right, but ... we can't possibly be together.”

“Because .. she already has someone else she likes.”

Yua just kept quiet, and so did I. We decided to go to bed early because tomorrow we had to leave early for a survey event located about three kilometers from my house.

My relationship with Refald must be reconsidered. But not for now, because I want to focus first on the activities that will soon be held. I don't want this activity to get messed up just because of my personal problems. So, I will discuss this matter with Refald once this activity is over.

I still remember what Refald said before he came home.

Refald kissed my forehead as he was about to go home, then clasped my hand tightly. “What time does the show start tomorrow!”

I'm surprised Refald turned this romantic. We looked at each other with our feelings.

“Hour seven we all gathered here and left for the location together,”.

“Alright then, I go first.” Refald smiled sweetly and got into his volvo car and left. I saw it until the car disappeared from my sight.

“At the very least, he should say good night or sleep well. Stupid fool!” muttered.

I turned around and went inside the house. All of a sudden, there was a text coming in from Refald.

The next day, we were getting ready to leave. We agreed to gather at my house, because the location is closer than anywhere else.

At exactly 07.00 am, one by one my friends who were involved to attend the forest survey event have arrived. So did Epank, and another uninvited guest, that guest was Refald. Early in the morning he surprised me with his arrival.

“Why are you here?” ask me when I open the door for him.

“Why? You don't like your girlfriend coming?”Refald asked back.

“Of course accompany you!”

“With such hands? You'll only trouble us. You think we're going on a picnic? The roads in the forest are dangerous. What if your hand gets hurt again?”

“Don't worry, I'll be fine!” he grins. Refald had a black camera he had clad around his neck.

I'm so upset with Refald. It turns out he's still the same, it's really nice to piss me off. How could he join this event while his hand was still wrapped in bandages? Is he out of his mind?

Not long after, all my friends had gathered. They were surprised that Refald was here too, but they immediately understood that my status with Refald was that of a couple. So, they did not mind Refald's presence, especially Lisa. He was very happy that Refald took part in this activity regardless of our status. It seems, only she is not aware that Refald is my girlfriend, although initially our status is only pretending, or maybe Lisa was deliberately pretending not to know about our status.

Since everything was complete, we immediately prepared to begin our survey journey. The total number of all members participating today is five, plus Refald, the total of which is six. So that later we did not split up, Refald offered his jeep car to give us a ride so that we could leave and go home together.

I just realized that Refald didn't bring his volvo. Except a special jib car used for off road while down the forest. I remember Eric saying that Refald also likes to climb mountains. So, no wonder if he also has a jib car like that. The nicest car was, and fortunately, it fit six people.

It only took us 15 minutes to get to the location we were going to survey. After talking to the forest officers for a while, they gave us permission to conduct surveys and conduct CARAKA activities that we will do next week. Refald parked the jib, then he followed us to a small hillside. This is where we start our survey journey. Climb the high hill that stretches wide in front of us.

“OK! Everything is ready!” ask my friends.

We also started to climb this hill step by step. Lisa brought some yellow raffia rope as a sign so that we do not lose track if later we re-enact activities here. He tied the rope to trees and tall grasses at a distance of one meter. Juna and I cut down the branches of the tree to open the way. Refald photographed several locations in this place as a reminder so that we do not forget the way home, there is also a point he participated in this activity.

We also arrived at the grassland with an area of approximately one hectare, finally we will enter the pine forest area which is a hundred meters from here. The forest is still a protected forest area, but also very far from the habitat of protected animals, including wild animals. So, the place is also safe if it will hold activities in this area, especially for nature lovers who often hold events or who want to go up the mountain.

Before entering the forest, we took a break to unwind because we had climbed the hill for approximately one hour. Eve here is quite cooler, because the place that began to be located in the high ground. Here there are also some places that are commonly used for post as monitoring and resting places for climbers who will climb the mountain.

In addition, this pasture also presents a beautiful scenery that is very amazing to be enjoyed for climbers before they continue their journey to the top. Because from here, we can see a variety of hills with a very beautiful view with several gorges, this place is also commonly used to rest while enjoying exotic natural scenery.

However, we do not intend to climb the mountain, we will only circle this place as the highlight of the event that will be used for CARAKA activities later, he said, or in other words can be regarded as a test of courage and a show of courage for prospective members of nature lovers before being inaugurated as a member. As for the camping event, we chose a location close to the spring or river, which is one kilometer from where we are currently.

Finally, we entered into the forest after passing through a vast and amazing pasture. The view in the forest is no less interesting. The cool and refreshing air began to permeate our bodies.

Some roads are difficult to pass, but we managed to pass the road and get rid of various obstacles so that participants who pass this road later do not experience difficulties. Juna also installed a rope raffia blue color as a roadblock that is considered dangerous so that the participants will not pass, besides that it also prevents the participants who pass this route do not get lost, because there are so many roads branching out here.

After going through several climbs, we finally got to the downhill road and found a large flat area that could be used for camping. This area is very strategic because of its location close to the spring.

I approached Juna and talked to him about the location we would make for camping here. He agreed that this location would be our campsite. It seems, this place fits for approximately fifty members who will follow this activity later. In addition to its location close to the spring, this place is also not far from where we started the round trip earlier. To get back to the parking area, it is about two kilometers from this place. That's why we all agreed that this place was perfect for camping.

Juna and I started making a map of the location of this place to be adjusted to the schedule of activities that we will do later. While Yua and Epank had also started to look familiar. Several times I saw them talking and holding hands as Yua struggled through the difficult and uphill streets.

While Lisa still seeks the attention of Refald who continues to ignore it. He continued to invite Refald to talk, but the man was just quiet and busy photographing here and there regardless of Lisa's chatter. I feel sorry to see Lisa. His approach to Refald did not yield any results.

I think Refald enjoyed his journey by photographing many places without having any difficulty due to his injured arm. He doesn't talk to anyone. I don't know why he looks so cool when he takes pictures. I did not intentionally walk nearby, because I did not want my friends to think our trip was used for dating if we continued together. I think Refald also understood, so he also kept his distance from me and chose to enjoy the natural scenery by capturing it.

During the thirty minutes we were on site, we observed and checked the surrounding area for the last time before we left this place.

“It is enough for today, we should go down and find food because this has entered lunch time.” I said to my friend who immediately nodded in agreement.

We also prepared to go down. So far our journey has been very smooth without any obstacles. Until something unexpected happens to us. Suddenly, Epank groaned in pain and fell down. Yua who was walking next to him also cried out in fear. Me and the others immediately ran towards Epank whose position was behind us to check what was really going on.

Of course we were surprised to learn of Epank's condition. Apparently, his left leg was bitten by a snake.
