Demian is out of a mini market. Two cans of cold coffee, a pack of potato chips, and two boxes of cond*m encased in transparent crackers.

Demian handed it to Adam who was waiting for him on the side of the road. Adam receives coffee from Demian while watching the contents of his partner's groceries.

"Someone was in his prime, '" Adam made a mocking comment.

"Someone who is normal and handsome," Demian responded, his words made Adam stridently unhappy.

There was nothing wrong with Demian's answer. However, hearing his tone full of arrogance always successfully make Adam keki. Adam then took a sip of coffee in his hand until it ran out before grabbing the arm of one of the young men who sauntered calmly on the sidewalk of the road.

"Stop, stop..." Adam held the young man in the black backpack. He pulled his backpack until the young man was two steps back.

"A-what's up?" The nameless young man gulped. Thanks to Adam's gangster-like appearance, the young man who was likely in his early 20s was covered in fear.

"Dump this," said Adam. He handed his coffee can to the young man just now. "And don't make me see you again, you're sickening!"

"E-uh?" Without knowing what was wrong, the young man ended up on the side of the road by cupping two empty coffee cans. A contented Adam vents his annoyance, leaving with Demian after Demian also hands his empty coffee can to Adam's victim just now.

Today, as Oscar had ordered, Adam and Demian went to make a transaction on the ship that would set sail tomorrow morning. The transaction will happen at exactly 1 a.m. Now that it was eleven p.m., Adam and Demian were hurtling to their covenant location, earlier than planned.

Honestly speaking, running Oscar's orders was quite annoying for Demian. Especially when the order means he has to deal with a group of mobsters who rule Vegas with their black hands. Demian, for no significant reason, simply hated interacting with them.

Since they were arrogant, always happy to provoke his emotions, some even dared to tease him. Whenever such a situation occurred, a showdown would be unavoidable. They'll hit each other until one of them falls. Fortunately, as long as no one died, they would not cancel the transaction.

But, in the end, it was exhausting.

"I've said it many times.." Demian kicked the man who a few minutes before this, spitting near his shoes. "Me! Hate it! Stuff! My stuff! it's filthy!"

Every syllable that came out of Demian's mouth, adjusting the number of kicks he threw into the stomach of the old bastard who was now lying on his back lost strength.

Unlike the man under his feet now, who was battered and bleeding from his mouth and nose, Demian only obtained bruises at the corners of his lips. While Demian was fighting, Adam made the transaction as if nothing had happened.

"I hope you learn to stop provoking his emotions" Adam told the head of the member who led the transaction. "He's brutal and bloodthirsty."

"I'm not responsible for my men" said the man standing in front of Adam. "After all, isn't that an awesome sight? Are you sure your boss won't sell it to us?"

"Lit out a little bit of your voice, you'll get the next ration." Adam snorted coldly.

"You seem to misunderstand. I didn't mean to want it in a distorted sense. Merely, his martial ability was quite competent. He'll be a valuable asset if he works with us."

"It's not meant to belittle your organization" Adam said later. He spoke while watching Demian who was now tidying up his flannel shirt.

"But the man already has his own organization." And Adam is sure, in just one snap of a finger from Bellamy's side, the ship of the bajijgan will be shipwrecked before sunrise this morning.

Demian Bellamy was an existence that was more expensive than gems. If the mafia members who harassed Demian knew who he was, they would all lick his shoes. They'll all curl up at his feet.

Demian's wish this morning, when she stopped by Elixir, was to meet Jessica and watch her breakfast. Unfortunately, that hope is empty.

The Jessica he had expected to be in front of the counter table, did not appear at all. There's only Dania there, sitting on her legs. Ethan is in his post, stirring up coffee while occasionally telling stories with Dania.

Until Ethan's pair of obsidian irises caught Demian's whereabouts, he flashed a smile. "Good morning," said Ethan.

"Morning..." Demian responded bored.

"Oh, oh, oh. I thought who came, it was Demian." Dania also opened her voice as she turned to Demian.

"Both?" demian's questions flowed bluntly. "Where's your boss?"

"My boss, Jessica...? A minute, a minute, because you brought Jessica up first, I remembered something." Dania-rather than answering Demian's main question, was instead talking about something else.

Demian scowled unhappily.

"Demian," continued Dania again, "Are you and Angela dating?"

What this topic had to do with the previous topic, Demian did not understand at all. "I don't think it's your position to know, Dania." You are nothing, Demian added in his mind.

"Eh, does that sound a little presumptuous?"

Demian did not give an answer. Dania could definitely use her brain to understand that the realm of her question had just passed.

"I'm sorry" Dania said later. But there is no sincerity. "I'm not asking this because I'm curious about your relationship. I asked because I questioned Angela's behavior."

Demian's brows involuntarily raised next to.

"I mean, if you're together, he shouldn't question my boss's closeness to Jake, right? They've broken up." Dania's words came out and closed with a grin.

Dania still can't forgive Angela who has dared to insult Jessica with her barbaric questions. Jessica may be a forgiving friend, she only gets angry one minute and forgets her anger a minute later.

"So that's why you're interrogating me now." Demian recalled Jessica's words that night. Angela must have said something.

Angela, oh, Angela!

"Rather than interrogating, I'm just voicing my confusion."

Demian took a long breath. "Me and Ange are not dating" Demian said. "I think that makes him right to question the closeness of Jessica and Jake, doesn't it?"

"So, do you also agree with the question Angela asked my boss?"

"I don't know what they're talking about, but I don't think Angela's going to say anything that needs to make me question her words." Angela is a good person. He's just heartbroken, he won't turn into a demon just because he parted ways with Jake.

"Romantic," Dania snorted lightly. "You're supposed to be dating."

Demian is back. He didn't give an answer.

"If you feel Angela is someone you don't need to question, you better stop your pleasantries from questioning our boss."

"..."

"If I know you mean to be friendly, I don't want Angela to hear you mention my boss's name and misunderstand me."

"I was just asking Jessica whereabouts, there's nothing to misinterpret there. Angela's not a dumb girl."

"He's not a moron, but he obviously has a mental problem!"

"Dania!" Ethan interrupted immediately.

"I'm just saying my opinion" Dania later said. He looked at Demian full of displeasure. "If you're offended, I don't regret it at all. I don't mind if you don't come back here either. If you can, you better take Angela away and find a job somewhere else!"

Satisfied to spit out his annoyance at Demian, Dania then got off the bench she was sitting on. Without looking back at Demian again, Dania passed by the door. He greeted the guests who entered.

"What's wrong with her?" Demian turned to Ethan, full of confusion.

"It's just a habit of Dania" Ethan said. "She's pretty protective of Jessica, and she's also vindictive, I guess? He wouldn't be satisfied if he didn't spit out his anger."

"..."

"Because Jessica forbade Dania to scold Angela, you're the target of her anger."

"I don't know, is the problem that serious?" Demian. It was still morning, and he had already been sprayed with rage from the girl he rarely spoke to.

"I'm not in a position to say whether the problem is serious or not. It's just, Angela's words that day have made Dania angry."

"Did Angela say something outrageous?"

Ethan smiled. He refused to tell a story that should not have spread anywhere. However, from the way Demian looked at him, the man wanted an explanation that was more than just ambiguity.

"Angela accuses Jessica of approaching Jake to take advantage of him" Ethan says. "Maybe it's because Jake is a man of the family that is, so Angela draws such a conclusion."

"..."

"You may have thoughts that go along with Angela, but to be honest, as Jessica's best friend for a long time, I know she's not really that kind of girl." Ethan propped his hands up on the table, eyes staring at Demian with seriousness.

"Because we knew Jessica so well, Angela's words back then were already like an insult to a boss we respect so much."

Demian poked his lips together, what should he say in this situation. What does he have to say to Jessica's friends to explain Angela's blind jealousy?

Angela.., her words have hurt not only Jessica, but also the girl's best friend. He should have thought far.

"By the way, Demian..." Ethan handed Demian a cup of coffee, revealing a faint smile of courtesy. "I have the same opinion as Dania."

"Yes?"

"If the way we deliver is different, I guess.., what Dania said has a point."

"???"

"The situation here would be better if you and Angela weren't around."

Ethan knows his speech is not pleasant to hear, especially if Demian is a regular guest. However, on the other hand, Ethan feels he has voiced the truth.

"I don't hate you, of course. I just don't want Jessica to listen to bad things. He's been through enough unpleasant things, I don't want him to get involved in your romance."

Jessica had suffered a lot, Ethan thought at the time. Ethan does not want Jessica to repeat the same phase when she decides to run away from reality. When Jessica decides alcohol as her escape route.
