93. Risk in Choice.

Angela had already made up her mind, somehow, she was obliged to speak one eye to Demian. Angela feels she deserves an explanation for the betrayal Demian committed on her.

Demian couldn't just walk away from his life after creating a wound in his heart, Demian had to take responsibility.

Angela thought she could trust Demian all along. He gave Demian complete confidence and thought that Demian would always be by his side. Demian will protect her. Angela never expected that there would be a day Demian stood behind her, betraying her.

For a moment, Angela thought Demian was working with Jake to hurt him. However, when Angela remembers Jake's reaction that night, Angela finds out that Jake is just as surprised as Angela. Angela knows Jake is hurt, too.

"Jessica has really taken everything away from me," Angela muttered as she looked towards Jessica's balcony in the distance. In Angela's mind, she swore she would make Jessica feel the pain she's been through now.

Jessica has no right to be happy in her grief. The girl is a seductive demon who has damaged the harmony of Angela's life all along. He's already taken on everything that means so much in Angela's life. Be it her job, her lover Jake, and Demian. Angela desperately needs Demian.

Angela had strengthened her resolve to meet Demian today, therefore, today she came to Elixir.

Angela does not know where Demian lives all this time, Angela does not know where Demian used to spend her time. Therefore, the only place Angela could think of was Elixir.

"Oh, oh, oh." Dania-as a guest-welder at Elixir-spontan restricts Angela's steps when she sees the woman enter. "What is Miss. Angela do it here? As I recall, I've given you a warning not to appear before me again."

"Surge, Dania. I have no business with you!"

"This cafe is my territory" said Dania. Dania's hand caught Angela's shoulder going through it and pushed Angela back to her original position. "Everything that happens here is my business."

"You're just Jessica's lackey, don't interfere in my de-AAWWW business!"

Dania did not let Angela finish her speech, she just grabbed Angela's mane and made the girl groan in pain in front of her.

Ethan, Jessica and Demian, who were eating breakfast at the counter, spontaneously gasped as they watched Dania. Demian is even more shocked when he finds out that Dania's victim is Angela.

"What's going on here?" Demian approached them for a moment. "Dania, let Angela go."

"What am I doing?" Dania looked at Demian defiantly. "I'm just putting Elixir in order from the bearer of trouble."

"Dania, please let her go." Jessica is talking. "She seemed to want to meet her boyfriend." The cynical taunts escaped Jessica's lips after that as well.

Demian's protective attitude towards Angela created little displeasure within Jessica. However, Jessica could not say much considering Angela was Demian's best friend for a long time.

"Jesse, please. Not now."

"What?" Jessica looked back at Demian. "I'm just kidding."

The problem is, from Jessica's expression alone, Demian knows that Jessica is not joking at all. The girl sneered at him, intentionally. He might still be angry too.

"dance, ayoo. Don't waste your time with him."

Jessica just focused on Dania. Jessica refuses to be friendly with Angela or shows her pity. Not just hitting Angela there is Jessica's compromise right now, but that's it. Jessica is tired of dealing with Angela. Although Angela is Demian's best friend, Jessica will not hesitate to start a showdown.

According to Jessica's words, Dania finally pulled Angela's thick mane out of her hands. A few strands of Angela's hair were left on Dania's hands, falling out from her trap.

"It's upsetting" Dania complained. "You sure you want to let the devil talk to Demian? Aren't you afraid Demian was stolen by him?"

"If a man is easy to steal, it means that his heart has been unstable from the beginning." Elliot. "Anyway, what were you thinking about making a fuss at the door? Our recent ratings are high thanks to Oscar Brown's recommendation, you better not create a problem, Dani!"

"I promised him I'd rip his mouth out if we met again. I was thinking of keeping that promise because he already dared to challenge my authority here."

"Well, wait." Ethan laughed. "What did he say?"

"She said I was Jessica's lackey? Seriously, huh? Is it so legible?"

"We're all Jessica's lackeys." Ethan just cracked up. "Didn't you, Jesse?"

"Don't think about her words," Jessica said, she was a bit of a headache when teased by her friends. "How many times have I told you that we all have the same authority in this cafe, right? After all, the one who forced me to be the boss here is you."

If it wasn't for Jessica losing out on the paper stone scissors they did a few years ago, Jessica might not have been the leader at Elixir. In fact, if in terms of ability, a person who is smarter in managing finances and the world of business is Ethan.

Because Ethan is lazy to involve himself in complicated matters, Ethan rejects the leader position and encourages Jessica as a candidate.

"By the way, what are Angela and Demian talking about right now?" Dania said as she glanced towards the door. Both of them disappeared from there, of course.

"Jesse, aren't you curious?" Elliot asked.

"Demian let me talk to Jake one eye, so I wanted to do the same thing." Jessica tried to be wise.

"But are you curious?"

"Lu-lumayan, perhaps? But, it's not my territory to interfere. If it's important, Demian will talk to me." Jessica was wrong.

Elliot created a petty expression on his face.

Elliot-unlike Jessica who tried wisely-was voicing her demon idea there. The three friends instantly gave Elliot a look 'Don't joke!'. However, in the end, they followed Elliot's invitation. Their curiosity is superior to sinful feelings.

"You want to hear what they're talking about?" it was Elliot's speech earlier, like a nine-year-old brat. Dania was the first to agree. Then, Dania forced Jessica to want to. Ethan-as the one who doesn't want his friends involved in danger-follows getting involved in order to keep all three.

"How can you let me be humiliated like I was just now?"

Just a few steps away when they arrived beside Elixir, Angela immediately confronted Demian with her hateful shrill voice. "Didn't you see how they treated me just now?"

"Ange, calm down a little." Demian did not give much reaction to the push and punch Angela gave in her chest. He was just trying to calm Angela down and if that meant he would take a little blow here and there, Demian accepted the condition.

"I don't know what happened between you and Dania, Ange. I did what I could to stop your dispute just now. What else am I supposed to do?"

If it wasn't for Demian and Jessica interrupting, Angela would probably have smeared on Dania's soles. Dania-rather than Angela-is a woman who gets more determined once provoked.

"Well, first of all, I'm not Jake. Second, I have stopped your fighting. That'sthat's all. I am not in a position to judge anyone and teach anyone a lesson. Especially if I don't know what your problem is."

What are Angela's hopes anyway? Demian hit Dania for him, did he? No kidding!

Receiving a long response from Demian, Angela's eyes spontaneously glazed over. The curvature of his lips fell down. Cry broke.

"You don't care about me anymore, Demian. You've changed. You're getting really bad now." Angela took a few steps back from Demian, the back of her hand closing the stuffing.

"I trust you so much, I give you all my trust. Why are you treating me like this? You said you loved me, why did you betray me?!"

Angela's cry did not subside, the sound coming out of her mouth hoarse, mingling with the sobbing. "Did you also do this to me because you wanted to take revenge I once refused?"

"Angela, are you aware of what you're saying?" Demian took one step closer. "I didn't betray anyone. I just don't love you like I used to. I told you this, my feelings have changed. Changed! Which part of your hearing is passing?"

"Haaa..., so just like that, you forgot about me and turned to Jessica? Don't fool me, Demian! You should stop now! What did I do until you guys were so mean to me?"

"Ange, there's nothing bad about you here. I have no intention of harming you. You're my friend."

Seriously, Demian just wants Angela to understand that the love she used to feel has faded away. If there was a reason why Demian was kind to Angela, it was already one hundred percent because Demian appreciated Angela's kindness all along towards her. The woman had already become his loyal friend in this strange city.

"If you don't want to hurt me, you have to leave Jessica!"

"What?"

Angela - with eyes still wet - stared at the ferocious Demian. "Prove that you're my friend, Demian! You need to leave Jessica right now. Forget him, forget everything related to him. Our lives were not like this before. We are happy when we are together. Now, everything's falling apart."

"Leave him, and come back the way he was!"

"Angela, Jessica is-'"

"Jessica, Jessica, Jessica!!! I'M SICK OF HEARING EVERYONE CARE ABOUT HIM! He ruined my life, Demian! Are you not aware! He has taken all the precious things from me!"

Angela grabbed the neck of Demian's shirt, gripping it firmly like an eagle. "Respect, Demian! The one you love is me! Just me! What do I have to do to make you realize? Should I give you my body? You want that?"

"Angela, enough." Demian pulled down Angela's wrist from her shirt forcibly. Demian already felt enough to hear Angela's nonsense. The girl has talked too much. Demian did not want Angela to end up humiliating herself just because of her unstable condition.

"You need a break" Demian said again, more firmly. "You have to calm yourself down and realize, what you said today is not a good thing at all. You shouldn't be like this."

Angela is a kind woman. Demian knew that because he had spent several years as the woman's best friend.

The day that Angela parted ways with Jake, Jake wasn't the only one who suffered deep pain and injuries.

Ever since Angela parted ways with Jake, something changed in the woman's mindset. It becomes more negative for people. Hatred and malice blurred black on his head, making him feel always cornered and hated by everyone. The self-confidence he never had, was present and created a tragedy.

Angela the one Demian knew was not a woman who would thirst for attention. However, he had already changed too far.

Angela relies on Demian's attention as a form of validation of her current existence. That being beautiful is enough. It does not need intelligence or independence. That, Jake's family who look down on him is the wrong side.

What's wrong if he is less educated in various things? What was wrong was Janette who demanded too much from him and looked down on his existence like a leech.

With Demian, Angela felt safe. The man never demands that he be intelligent, be independent, have to be this and that. With Demian, Angela felt herself to be quite. However, if Demian also left him, doesn't that mean Janette's talk all along would be the truth?

'If you think you can live off someone else's back, you'll end up alone, Angela. Leech, from the beginning, is not an animal that can be made a pet.'

"You don't know me at all, Demian." Angela brushed off Demian's hand that was anchored on her shoulder, trying to calm her down. "You and Jake are the same. You guys turned away from me. Your feelings are all fake!"

"Ange..."

"You think you can do this to me just because I'm weak? Just look, Demian.., I'll make you feel the hurt and humiliation you've given me."

"Angela, don't threaten me." Demian's expression changed there. Demian may be able to tolerate Angela's words, but if the woman threatens her peace, Demian will not hesitate to show her fangs as well.

"Don't make me your enemy." Demian said, calm down.

"Then, leave Jessica now!"

"My feelings for Jessica have nothing to do with you. I love her, very. I'm not leaving her just because you asked me to, Angela. Even if you prostrate on the ground, I won't!"

Angela nodded, she digested Demian's rejection with tears coming back. "Then, you're ready to accept your risk."

"Angela, I'm warning you one more time. Use your common sense and stop glued to the times. Not everything to do with you here. My relationship with Jesse shouldn't hurt you."

"You're saying that because you don't know my position..." Angela wiped her tears. "You don't know what it's like to be abandoned by the person you trust the most."

"We can still be friends, that's not a problem."

Angela pushed Demian once more, anger never subsiding in her heart. What was there, the flames in his eyes were blazing even greater. "That's the problem, Demian. I hate Jessica! I hate her! He has taken away all my happiness!"

"Then, I'll be disappointed to end our friendship, Angela."

Demian came to his unanimous decision there. Although Angela is a figure who has been his friend for a long time. Demian's love for Jessica dominated the entire space in her heart. Demian is willing to dump Angela if it means she stays with Jessica.

"You're going to be sanctioned for hurting me today, Demian." Angela spoke out full of seriousness.
