LOVER MONSTER!

LOVER MONSTER!
48. Truths.

One day before.

Despite having the wealth one can afford to buy one's self-esteem, Jake Allendale never considered his wealth an edge. Honestly speaking, if there was anything he could change in his life, Jake would choose to change his status to a mediocre man.

No, that doesn't mean Jake hates his family and curses them all. Not at all. The only thing Jake detests from his current status is his difficulty in finding sincerity.

Most people who go in and out of Jake's life always have a veiled agenda. Whether it was to pursue his wealth, to buy his status, to want his influence. Even if he finds sincerity in the treatment of people, he will end up avoided and feared when they know the great pressure of the power of his last name.

Jake is isolated wherever he is. There were so many familiar faces mingling in falsehood.

Jake knows the conflict he struggles with in his life is a luxury he shouldn't complain about. However, the problem is the problem. The pain he felt was real, suffocating his breath.

Jake Allendale - after all the falsities surrounding him - thought he would never get out of that hellhole. He thought forever, he would live among the greediness that fought over him worthy of a charter.

However, he meets Angela. It is too beautiful to be reality.

"I think your wealth has nothing to do with your personality. If you're bad, that means you're bad. But you're good, and your wealth has nothing to do with it. Because of that, I like you. Hehe. As long as you're good, I think I'll always like you."

Angela's words are like magic in the ears.

Jake recalled the girl's words with eyes that were wet again.

He was too naive and easy.

Speech like a pearl on social media has shaken it. This is all his fault. She is ultimately betrayed by Angela's sweet remarks.

The girl dumped him.

Jake thought Angela's departure was because the girl wasn't strong enough to hold her words. He was engulfed by hatred and feelings that always felt lacking. Angela abandons Jake and forgets all the good he's raised.

Jake thinks Angela's sincerity is eroded by her over-intimidating possessions.

But that sincerity never existed from the beginning.

Jake stands in reality, after months and weeks of suffering.

Honesty greets her.

"I left Italy to have a stable life. Even though Demian is a good man, I can't accept him because just as he seems. But Jake is different. He's capable of giving me the life I've always wanted."

Angela's voice is like a needle piercing the heart.

"You say it romantically, but..., doesn't that mean you're just after Jake's money?"

"I'm not after the money. He just happens to be rich."

"Then, what if Demian has a life that says 'Stable'. Are you gonna take it?"

"...Might? But it can't happen. Jake is precious to me, I'll always pick Jake."

"Surely, I will also be on the same side. A man who is better than a man who has nothing."

"But I'm not after Jake's money at all."

"The stability you want comes from work and money spilling over, Angela. You think he's gonna have a fancy apartment at 30 without his family backing, huh? You don't have to deny, there's nothing wrong with a materialistic woman. That's natural."

"Well, I guess that's natural."

"We women need to be treated like princesses. Money is part of that service, hehehe. Am I wrong?"

"You may.., right."

The voice mail appeared on Jake's phone last night, sent by his sister who somehow got the voice recording.

Jake-Janette Allendale's sister is a person who is so opposed to Jake and Angela's relationship. Janette is the one who makes all of Angela's confidence eroded away.

Although Angela accepts Jake to pursue stability, she is repulsed after repeatedly getting bullying from Jane.

[I told you, that bitch is not for you.]

Jane's message appears below the audio file she sent earlier.

Jake closed his eyes.

Jake already felt guilty terribly when he was unable to hold Angela in his life. Jake suffers, gets hurt, and is suffocated by an endless sadness. Jake did not expect.

Why was he crying and cursing his life all this time?

The sincerity he had been chasing all along was only an illusion.

If in the end he will be taken advantage of and wasted, why has he survived in kindness for so long?

"Am I too easy for you?" Jake breathed out while laughing. Hearts fragmenting.

"Angela..," Jake muttered loosely with a faint laugh. "If I return your actions to me, I hope you'll justify me."

After all, as a rich man with great influence in his hands, it was only natural that he would use that power to get rid of the person who had become a leech in his life, right?

"I know what you hate most, Angela." Jake wiped the corner of his eye.

Jessica Cerise's face appeared in his mind.

Jessica is a woman who lives in the world of Angela's dreams. A woman who builds her career from scratch, has friends who support her with sincerity, a reputation without blemishes, and kindness balanced with wisdom.

She was everything Angela was unable to accomplish.

Jessica Cerise is the source of Angela's malice. If Jake sticks to her, he's curious about how broken Angela is...

It would be a pretty satisfying sight.

"I'm sorry, Jessica. I thought you were a fun friend. But I can't trust anyone now. You too.., though I would appreciate your help all this time..." Jake clenched his hand unconsciously.

"I won't believe your kindness."

Now it's...

"You're lying, right?" Angela looked at Jake with a pair of wet eyes. "You can't possibly like Jessica, she's not the girl who's going to interest you."

"What do you mean?" Jake crossed his arms while smiling stiffly. "What kind of woman would interest me, Angela?"

I.., was the answer Angela couldn't say. It is impossible to say that when Jake is not looking at him with the same dream as before.

Did that guy really feel?

"Angela, I like Jessica. I'm serious." Jake continues with his talk. "We may have just met recently, but he has left a pleasant impression on me. He was kind and friendly, he stood on par in front of me without looking at my wealth as something he needed to fear."

"You're just looking for a way to hurt me! That's what you really want, right? Jessica deserves it better than I do, is that what you're trying to say?"

"I said he accepted me for what he was," Jake said once again. "She has no veiled intention of getting close to me, Angela. Nor did he put his spiteful feelings on me. And you're right, he deserves it better than you."

"..."

"I want to be with a woman who doesn't hate my wealth, the destiny of my life. I don't want someone who puts specific expectations on me and is disappointed when those expectations don't match reality..."

"What do you mean?"

Jake took a breath. "I don't blame you at all, Angela. I know being a materialistic woman is natural."

A deja vu lands in Angela's mind. Reminds him of the old conversation.

"Jake.., i...,"

"You're not wrong, Angela. I only have high expectations for you. At least, I used to think you weren't the most girl who approached me with a certain intention. However, it turns out, what sets you apart from most people who have surrounded me is that you are unaware of your greed."

"Demian, help me. Demian. I can't breathe now. It feels so painful. Hieks, I. I hate Jake Allendale, Demian. Please.meet me now. I.., hieekss.., he hurt me too much!"

"Calm down for a second, Ange. What the hell is going on?"

Inside Angela's complicated voice, Demian listens to Angela's every grievance carefully. She doesn't know what's going on right now, but Angela is definitely hysterical.

'Especially what the fucker did to Angela?' Demian wondered while distancing himself from the crowd of the gambling table. He sits on the couch and listens to Angela's complaints, promising to see the girl soon.

At that instant, Demian only felt anxiety and concern. He wanted to calm Angela down and ease her cries. That's all it is.

Demian did not expect at all, that little recognition of Angela would end up making her widen her eyes, wrathful. An invisible flame flared in his eyes, increasing the heat on his body.

Demian.

"Demian.., Jake, Jake says he likes Jessica." The words were like a flame. Demian's blood is like gasoline.

"He..., say that?"

"Demian, how is this.., Jake wants to make Jessica his woman. He'll forget me, Demian...Jake will-"

Angela's speech fades in Demian's hearing. He stops hearing anything Angela says after Jake wants to make Jessica his girl. That bastard, is he kidding?

Jake Allendale, huh...

Demian's laughter restrained with growls and tantrums.

...I hope you don't mean it!...
